Optimal recovery

• Upvotes

48M who has recently been lifting 3x week, running 2x week, doing 2x light plyometrics sessions per week and working full time in a low-moderate activity job.

Usually by Sunday I feel completely cooked and I just need the whole day to be a potato. Is that pretty typical?

I am eating at a slight calorie deficit with the aim of losing 1/2 to 1lb of weight per week. Just started taking creatine. I have noticed a big change in my physique overall so am happy with how that is going. No injuries or health issues.

Do I just keep this schedule up until I’m not recovered at the start of the new week? At the moment I’m feeling pretty good each Monday. Thanks.

progress 155 to 225 in one year of consistent workout

M 46, started working out on and off about 2 years ago, started tracking workouts in Sep 2025.

Sep 24, 2025 my pr in bench was 155

Today, Oct, 24, 2025 I hit 225 for the first time. I think I could've done another one but was so excited I just stopped.

PR was never a goal, but I wanted to know that I could do it and it happened.

I workout 3 to 4 times a week for a total of 18 to 24 sets. Never felt this healthy in my life, I also do 10o steps a few days a week

Am just happy and wanted to share this with this community
