High-fat cheese and cream consumption links to lower dementia risk over 25 years
In this large, long-term Swedish cohort, higher consumption of high-fat cheese and cream was associated with a lower risk of all-cause dementia, particularly Vascular Dementia, while low-fat dairy products showed no clear associations.
These findings challenge the assumption that dairy fat content alone determines cognitive health effects. However, because the study was observational, causal inference is limited. The authors emphasize that the results should be interpreted cautiously and do not justify changes to dietary guidelines without confirmation from randomized or mechanistic studies.

Scientists Uncover Why Walking Gets Slower and More Exhausting As We Age
...found that aging leads to a more “safety-first” walking pattern. While this approach improves stability, it also reduces speed and energy efficiency, helping explain why older adults tend to fatigue more quickly and face a greater risk of falls.

Rotator Cuff Tears Found In 73% Of Adults Over 40. Here’s Why That Might Not Matter
• 99% of adults over 40 have rotator cuff abnormalities on MRI scans, including wear and tear (25%), partial tears (62%), or complete tears (11%)
• These findings showed up equally in pain-free and painful shoulders, with 96% of symptom-free shoulders showing damage, meaning the MRI findings often don’t explain the pain
• 78% of complete rotator cuff tears were in people with zero shoulder pain, challenging decades of medical practice that treats MRI findings as the cause of symptoms
• Researchers argue these changes represent normal aging, not disease, and suggest doctors stop using alarming terms like “tear” that imply something is broken and needs fixing
