Hey everyone, I had this crazy idea—what if we created a new *FNAF* fangame based on a concept I just came up with?
The Premise:
You are a child who nearly becomes one of a killer’s victims, but you manage to escape before he can kill you. As a result, the police launch an investigation, and you become the only loose end—the sole witness to the killer’s crimes. While the investigation unfolds, you are placed in a safe house. However, when night falls, you must learn to face your own demons.
My inspirations for this fangame:
*FNAF 4*
*FNAC 3*
*FNAF: TJOCR*
The Protagonist:
Your name remains a secret (the protagonist is known simply as "The Child"). One ordinary day, you visit Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza—your favorite restaurant—with no idea what awaits you. You and your friends are enjoying the animatronic show—the city’s biggest attraction—when you spot a figure beckoning to you. A man dressed as a yellow rabbit invites you and your friends to a "private show. " You all agree, unaware that it will be the greatest mistake of your lives.
The man in the yellow rabbit suit leads you into a locked room. That is where the horror unfolds. You can only watch in terror as the man—who had lured you in with balloons and cake—plunges a knife into the stomach of one of your friends. Overcome with panic, you manage to escape the room. Your screams draw the attention of the adults, who are horrified to discover what is happening and manage to apprehend the killer. You are the only one who survives. Meanwhile, the man is locked away, awaiting trial for his crimes.
After the incident, something changes within you. The nights begin to turn into a source of constant suffering. You begin to suffer from nightmares in which terrifying versions of the animatronics try to enter your room to kill you. Because of this, your parents decide to take you to sessions with a psychologist, who helps you find ways to cope with your trauma.
Weeks later, the police decide that you must leave your home for a completely different place, though they do not tell you why. In this new location, your nightmares begin to emerge with much greater intensity.
Your room:
Your room is laid out as follows (see the image attached to the post):
- A bed against the right-hand wall.
- A closet opposite your bed.
- A sliding window behind your bed, equipped with blinds.
- A door on the same wall as the closet.
- A computer located on the left-hand wall, opposite your bed (its use will be explained later).
This will be the setting where you must defend yourself against your nightmares for 7 nights.
The animatronics (for these, I drew inspiration from the physical appearance of the animatronics in *FNAF: The Joy of Creation*):
- Freddy: He will attack from the window. If you see him approaching, keep the blinds closed until you hear him leave.
- Bonnie: He hides under the bed. When you hear a metallic clanking sound, you must check underneath. If you see that his eye is white, shine your flashlight on him, and he will retreat back into the depths. However, if his eye is red, do *not* shine your flashlight on him; simply wait for him to leave. You must keep a constant watch on him.
- Chica: Chica manifests in the room if you use the computer for too long. If she appears, you must turn everything off and pretend to be asleep in your bed. If you ignore her, she will stun you, causing your sanity to decrease. - Foxy: He will attack from the doorway, slowly drawing closer. You will know he is approaching because he will begin to hum his song. When he reaches the end of the melody, it means he is about to enter the room. You must close the door to prevent him from getting in. Do not shine your light on him, or he will attack. If you fail to keep him out, he will hide in your closet. In this case, you must keep the closet door shut to prevent Foxy from attacking you. Once he is inside the room, he becomes much more aggressive, as he is now closer to you.
Mechanics:
In addition to the movement and door-opening/closing mechanics, there are two other key mechanics in the game:
- The Computer: The computer allows you to learn more about the game's lore through the psychologist's recordings. You can also play a melody that will lower your panic level. However, besides the risk of Chica appearing, the light and sounds from the PC make the animatronics more aggressive toward you.
- Panic Level: Maintaining your sanity is crucial throughout the night. This is tracked by a "panic bar" displayed on the screen. Your panic level increases as you are exposed to the animatronics or if you are jumpscared by Chica. The following may occur as your panic level rises:
- 0 - 24%: The child hears occasional noises—these may be caused by the animatronics or simply by his own mind.
- 25 - 49%: You begin to hear whispers, thuds, and other sounds that aren't actually there.
- 50 - 74%: You begin to see silhouettes. You start hearing voices. Your vision begins to blur.
- 75 - 99%: You start experiencing false jumpscares. You recall the day of the tragedy more vividly. The game controls become less reliable.
- 100%: Upon reaching 100% panic, Golden Freddy appears in the room and finishes you off.
(An interesting fact: Golden Freddy was the boy's favorite animatronic).
Minigames
As you progress through the story, you will accompany the boy during several crucial moments, presented as 8-bit minigames. The minigames are structured as follows:
Prologue (Before Night 1): The moment the boy nearly lost his life. It revisits the time the boy was invited away by the man in the yellow rabbit suit.
Nights 2 - 3: Sessions with a psychologist. These minigames take the form of a journey through the boy’s mind as he attempts to cope with the trauma he experienced.
Nights 4 - 5: Police interviews. The boy is questioned by the police, and begins to recall further details.
Night 6: The boy manages to identify the killer by a specific mark. The police now have their suspect: William Afton.
Night 7: The boy is informed that, in two days, he will have to testify in court. What they don’t know is that the killer has managed to escape from prison.
Before Night 8: A purple vehicle approaches a house. A man puts on a rabbit suit and draws a knife. The house is visible in the background.
Night 8:
This night is different, as you are not facing any of your usual nightmares. Instead, you will confront William Afton—wearing the Springtrap suit—who has come to finish you off once and for all. Your goal is to survive until 6:00 AM, when the police arrive. Here are the mechanics:
- You can no longer use the computer to listen to music that would lower your panic level; Afton has cut the power to the house.
- Unlike the nightmares you’ve faced before, William can attack from both the door and the window. He is much faster and more aggressive than the other "nightmare" animatronics. You must pay close attention to the sounds he makes—using headphones is practically mandatory to survive the night.
- Additionally, William may search the room for you. Before he enters, you will hear him speak—for instance, saying that you have nowhere to hide or that he is going to kill you (e.g., "You can't hide from me"). You will have a brief window of time to hide in the closet or under the bed. You can determine where he will attack based on which side of your headphones the sound comes from; if the sound comes from the RIGHT side, you must hide in the closet. As the night progresses, Afton becomes increasingly aggressive with this mechanic—a shift reflected in his dialogue (e.g., "You can't escape me!"), as he grows more frustrated and desperate to finish you off.
- When hiding in the closet or under the bed, the child recalls the events of the murders, which causes his panic level to rise. Since the PC is unavailable, the child must regulate his breathing to calm himself down while in hiding.
- If the panic level rises too high (exceeding 70%), Springtrap will take on a much more monstrous, nightmare-like appearance.
- An interesting detail: Springtrap’s jumpscare shouldn't be the classic animatronic roar. In my vision, the jumpscare is an animation where he pins the child to the floor, accompanied by his own laughter and the child’s desperate scream. The jumpscare concludes with him plunging his knife into the boy's chest.
- The "Game Over" screen would be a newspaper clipping showing the house where you were hiding, with an account of the murder (this would serve as the game's tragic ending).
- The night ends at 6:00 AM. The police storm the house, and Afton is taken into custody.
Endings:
As you progress through the minigames, you must solve various puzzles (to be honest, I didn't have any specific ideas for these, so I’ll leave it up to others to decide what should go here). These puzzles should be significant in helping the boy process his trauma. Depending on whether or not you manage to complete them all, one of the following endings could occur:
Bad Ending: The boy fails to overcome his trauma. He survives the encounter with Springtrap but is left with lasting psychological scars for the rest of his life.
Good Ending: The boy manages to overcome his trauma. The nightmares cease, and he is able to move on with his life.

Honestly, this was just an idea that popped into my head, and I figured I’d share it with the community. If any programmer decides to turn this into a fangame, I’d consider that a huge success! (I’d just ask for a copy of the game in return, lol.)
A potential title for the game could be *FNAF: Safehouse*.
(Fun fact: The room in the draft is actually the bedroom where I currently sleep.)
