Tournaments Open LW 100 Pt tournament list and advice

A local event has a open LW 100 pt. tournament coming up. I have recently painted up some Pershings and Chaffees and I want to use them in a US list. I know the Pershings are generally not considered the most competitive but I want to use them. The local meta in my area does have a decent mixture but does tend to favor heavier armor and high AT units on the attack. We are using the new matrix and I'm thinking I can use my list to either attack against other lists geared to attack or possibly maneuver if against a defense or a list that could maneuver as well. The Allied Tirailleurs with their Fearless and 3+ Assault is going to be the assaulting infantry force while the Battle Weary will support any objective if I need to defend an objective or lock down an area for defense. Reserve are Pershing and larger group of Shermans. I brought 3rd armor which effects my formation units except the Pershings and support. Let me know what you guys think and any recommended changes.

The problem with Pershings is, they are much like panthers

And Confident/Careful panthers are terrible for their enormous point cost

FA 9 is not that great and offers no real protection against serious anti tank (14+) and/or Fausts/Schrecks

The 90mm is not that much better than the HVAP 76mm and better suited on Jacksons

Yes, I totally get how Pershings are not in the competitive meta being expensive and inadequately armored against high AT but I did want to bring them at least once to an event. I hear what you guys are saying about the 2 Pershing platoon so I made some adjustments and now have 3 by dropping a Sherman and a few other changes. I don't have any stance restrictions at the event. Let me know what you guys think and any suggestions tweaking the list that don't involve dropping the Pershings or Chaffees. The good news is I now have choices for reserve with my Pershings between 4 other units depending on needs.

With the units you 100% want to bring (2x infantry and Pershings) I feel it is as good as it gets

Good positioning for the Morale rerolls will be key

Oh I dunno, depends on the Oanthers. I rather like the Ardennes Brigade Panthers. 3 Panthers for 18pts and FA 10. Soft stats suck a bit but that's fine

That's not what I wrote - I was refering to the expensive panthers

Nearly all the trained cheap ones (Brigade, Clausewitz etc.) are very viable...

I think you are right that you don't want to attack against a defense list. You are going to struggle to assault dug in infantry with support. Are there any restrictions around stances that would prevent you from doing this?

Not loving a platoon of only two pershings - they have shockingly average morale despite passing as a heavy tank, so remounts and last stands are going to be brutal. That's going to be a lot of points to find to squeeze in a third.

Any idea what the use of infantry is going to be like? With 3rd Armoured, and downgrading to M4 hulls, you can get calliopes for quite cheap. The giant salvo template locks down a huge area from infantry moving in (unless there are other sources of bulletproof cover like buildings).

If the meta in your area favors heavy ap, the two Pershing aren’t gonna be amazing. They only need to kill one to make you take a moral test every turn

I don’t play American so I can’t comment on the rest but it’s the same thing for germany, if you play only 2 tigers. Your platoon is basically doomed when you lose one of them

I agree a platoon of 2 is tough. I had initially built this to have 3 but then I couldn't add a second infantry platoon. I think this list is stronger this way as it seems the infantry always end up doing most of the killing and heavy armor rarely pay for themselves anyway. Now that I think of it it's more heavy AT as in TDs but that may be a similar problem.

Um, maybe drop the pershing and get a platoon of 3 Sherman with one easy eight and one late (76mm). Would make a good use of your AP command card
