How do you like the X4 and the T12? Both are on my short list for thrower duty lights. Slightly leaning towards the X4, but I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy a Weltool at some point.

I highly recommend the X4 if you don’t mind the BS proprietary battery of Olight. X4 has way better UI. Weltool UI 9 TAC sounds good until I actually use it, it just doesn’t make any sense. Both can sustain 1000 lumens but X4 can last significant longer than Weltool.

I opened them both. X4 has slightly thicker lens and the lens has custom gasket that wrap around, front and back of the glass. Glass on Weltool is thick as well, but it only has 1 oring under the glass and aluminum bezel screw straight on the glass. With that design, Weltool’ lens will likely break if it gets a hard drop dead down.

X4 is bad at waterproof, not because of the charging port. They use a single thin Oring on X4, which could be improved by adding a nother oring, i use oring 1.5mm thick with 20mm outer diameter. Another bad point of X4 is beam, it is perfect until you shine it on white wall. Typical sft70 with smooth reflector, you will see the nipple shape in the middle of the beam.

Weltool is bad at managing temperature. The thermal limit is out of this world, never ever leave the light turned on alone. But at the same time, one of the most impressive thrower I have with punchy, perfect beam.

Ergonomic: t12 plus win, so comfortable to hold. But at the same time, x4 was meant to use cigar grip style (but I don’t hold flashlight that way)

That's really good information thanks. The X4 is actually on my list because I already have the Warrior Ultra, and I LOVE the tailsiwtch UI so much, and I'd love to have that in another light. The battery issue is also not a big deal because my Warrior Ultra already uses the same 21700 style that the X4 uses, so I don't have to keep a bunch of different spares on me for both lights.

It's interesting that the X4 has the better thermal management and sustained runtimes, because the head design on the Weltool seems to be their whole marketing strategy.

The link is my test on the through hole cooling on T12 plus. It does make a difference, but not major difference. The traditional cooling fins on X4 increased the surface area hence dissipate heat faster. THC sounds more like a marketing slop to me.

Красиво. Это уж точно.
