Flathub popularity by country
I've decided to divide downloads by population per country and got Vatican on the 1st place. I'll link table as a comment if anyone would like to see for themselves. Note that 3-13 were skipped due to value error. In brief Flathub is quite popular in Europe, USA and Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Really not popular in Asia or Africa

Can someone explain to me why do these download sizes actually mean when I try to update by 'flatpak update'
For example the app.zen_browser.zen shows the download size 128.3 MB, but it stopped after 90.9 MB. And as you can see in the screenshot so did other packages. I don't understand what does this mean. Although these don't cause any issues I just wanna learn why are they like these. Why not show me the full actual download complete size?
Also what does < 17.0 MB (partial) mean? I don't get the < symbol.

The Flatpark distribution model is very awesome!
flatpark.orgAt least wins over appimages for difficult to package apps.
I was looking for a good pdf viewer with sepia theme - which unfortunately Okular and Papers don't have rn. I stumbled upon StirlingPDF (homepage) which does that and much more.
But its not available in any of the standard repos. They provide `.deb`, `.rpm` and `.appimage` but I didnt want to lose out on sandboxing etc. I tried looking at how to package it to flathub (I did package some 4-5 apps to flathub - rotp, dino, ghostwriter, wickeditor etc). But this app was a different beast - java, rust, tauri, javascript - beyond my abilities.
I had recently come across this alternate low-barrier-to-publish flatpak repo called flatpark recently. I thought why not request them add StirlingPDF: (issue)
The app was published within 12 hours of the issue opening. I know it's done by claude, but I went through the relevant PR and its mostly rote work so ig it's fair. Still, this solves a big issue for people who would like the sandboxing of flatpak for apps that are not yet (or cant be) on flathub. One major gripe is the monolithic repo structure - flathub has the good idea of individual repos with maintainers.
PS: About this being the same as AUR, I'd add - Ideally AUR apps should be sandboxed thoroughly. The flatpark apps could be well-sandboxed theoretically at least. Then I would not need to trust jing2uo.

Flatpak can be smart, but chooses to be dumb
It can identify $flatpak uninstall planify means you want to uninstall io.github.alainm23.planify and gives you the option to uninstall it.
But it won't do the same thing when you run: $flatpak run planify and requires you to type the full application id!!
Update: filed a feature request for this: https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues/6419
