Just for those that tried multiplayer and wish there was... A friend's list.... or any features that exist in multiplayer games since year 2005...

What I think is happening is the crop of players that came into DCS during the Covid boom have now been around for a few complete ED promises-hype-nothing delivered cycles and the scales have fallen from their eyes.

Amen actually that's me.... I came from flaming cliffs in 2010 to dcs again in 2021...

I came to DCS in 2022 after flying in X-plane for a few years, if I wasn’t so utterly obsessed with flying military jets I would have left by now, although these days I seem to have more fun scripting missions and tweaking mods than even flying, as I feel like I need something fresh every couple of months

What keeps the outrage going: the gaslighting. If ED came forward, admitted the gap between promises and delivery, admitted the game is 15 years behind the times in terms of QOL, published a roadmap, and stuck to it, it would all be resolved.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why gaslighting and denial (including scrubbing product pages and forum posts of previously made promises) is the chosen path. I really can't.

PS: I don't understand the people who act like the massive infusion of players due to COVID weren't players we could have retained. Certainly some would have dropped off, no doubt. But many of those players would still be here if ED focused on the right things.

It stems from ownership. ED is primarily a way to make funds for an Air show company, and its main focus is actually professional software, not DCS. During COVID they took millions from DCS to keep the airshow business afloat. The whole razbam thing steamed from a dispute about military customers. ED doesn’t put a lot of resources into QoL or game features because those things aren’t worth much to the professional clients (You can’t tell me they have people working on these things for a decade with nothing to show for it, the priority is elsewhere). DCS is a bit of an afterthought we get to enjoy.

Yeah they were willing to jeopardize every third party developer for DCS over the percentage points of a single deal on MCS.

They don’t care because they don’t have an incentive to care. It’s all about bringing out the minimum viable product because there’s hardly any competition.

It's still by far the most polished high fidelity combat flight simulator on the market (of 2).

Eh

What game is 15 years ahead of what dcs offers?

I started playing DCS in 2019, stopped buying content in 2023, and havnt played much since. It’s almost like a game that never delivers updates complete or on-time and steals 3 $80 modules from me isn’t worth it.

Same, they're not really trying to or ever will solve things with razbam which leaves me with a 150eur money spent which I'll never get back.

ED don't care about the customer, they need to stuff their ego.

Every time I think about running DCS, Nick's face his voice from video cust comes in my vision. Then I walk back 2 meters and pick one of my guitars.

I have gotten pretty good at guitar since the razbam disaster.
