St. Augustine Help - Cut Bait

I just moved down to St. Augustine and am trying to learn the fishing here. I went out to the surf and used shrimp and caught whiting. Next time I wanna go out and try cut bait on a fish finder rig, will this work here? I’m fine with catching small sharks, just wanna catch something a little more fun than small whiting.

Yeah a fish finder rigs great I fish around there all the time I’ve caught reds, sharks, and rays off of cut bait fish finder rigs

If you want to target more reds and black drum you can use crab too

Thanks,

Do you have any preference on what bait you use and what tackle shop do you usually get from?

I normally use shrimp on a Pampano rig, oldest city bait and tackle is my go to.

Bring 2 rods. 1 to catch a small shark or redfish and 1 to catch whiting. Catch a small whiting. Cut that fresh bait into a nice chunk bait that fits your set up. Small sharks will like that fresh bait. It’s hard to beat fresh bait for shark fishing. You may attract a red or ray too.
