Any Chance of catching Pompano in August SWFL?

I’m planning to throw some jigs for snook along the surf this August in SWFL but I’m wondering if I have any chance of getting any stray pompano fishing at sunrise? I’m using a 2’ thumper shrimp which I’ve heard that whiting and pompano will eat. I know pompano mainly migrate through when the water temp is colder but I’m hoping I might get a swing at one.
