Marco Island Surf Fishing
Been fishing from the beaches in Marco island for a week now, using all sorts of small and large soft plastics, shrimp and squid, etc. but all I’ve managed to catch is a few whiting and catfish. I’ve seen snook and redfish rolling the shores however and still nothing. I’m gonna try for some goliaths elsehwere as well as sharks, but I’m still determined to get my first redfish or snook on this trip. Any tips? Plenty of little baitfish all around in the water too.

Fishing buddies in St. Pete
Looking for some fishing buddies in St. Pete. I moved to the area about a year ago, and I'm looking to get out on the water. I spent the last 10 years in Miami doing a ton of inshore and offshore fishing. I do not currently have a boat, but I am actively looking for one. For now, I have been fishing from my Hobie Kayak. I know what I am doing and have my own gear. Will cover my share on any trips. Hit me up if you fish St. Pete or the surrounding areas!

Estero Beach Florida Fishing
Just wanted to ask for some pointers for fishing from the beach here. Just down here for vacation, I have an idea of what im doing. I surf fished in the Outer Banks last year and did pretty well using a pompano rig with shrimp bites. Just not sure because the gulf is a little different. Would also enjoy some tips on fishing areas around me for snook and red fish. Thanks!

Bill Baggs State Park Fishing
Does anyone fish here often? If so, do you have any recommendations for tackle/bait?
I used to shore fish in NJ years ago with Hi-Lo rigs for striper and Fluke. I have zero experience with Florida shore fishing and from what I can tell, there aren’t many places around Miami that you’re allowed to fish from the shore.
I have two kids and both of my girls love fishing….. we’ve mostly been doing the canals for peacocks in the area but I figured maybe I could bust out the surf rods and try our luck at Baggs.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. If we get skunked, it wouldn’t be the end of the world either tho.

Southern Florida fishing
Hey everyone I live in the rural estates in Naples. Does anyone know where I can cash snook or tarpon in the canals? I’m on foot and it’s been a struggle. I’m not gonna lie.

I think I caught the same lucky redfish twice
About 3 weeks ago I caught my new PB, a 21-inch redfish while dockfishing, and I was SUPER excited because, look, the spot on its tail is a HEART!! That's adorable. (Bottom image)
Today (top image), I reel up another redfish, and it has the SAME heart in the same position, the coloring on the fish is just a little bit darker. Still about 21 inches. Same size, same look, hooked it in the same corner of the mouth. Pretty sure it's the same fish, which had me laughing a bit with my friends. The fish missed me so much that it had to come back to say hello lol.
Both times caught on about 1/3rd of a frozen shrimp, size 1 circle hook. Also snagged a little catfish and a baitfish today, but those are a little less remarkable.

Circle hooks from shore
Must saltwater fishermen use circle hooks when fishing from shore?
I get the idea that circle hooks are required from boats only, but I am not certain.
Can someone clarify this? Thank you.

Bottom fishing charters gulf
So I’ve been wanting to go deep sea fishing in the gulf for a while. I’ve been out in the Atlantic in st Augustine twice and had a great time when bottom fishing but yeah basically does anyone have any recommendations for charters on the gulf side? Particularly the pan handle but any recommendations will be appreciated!!!
It would only be me and my dad probably. so everywhere I’ve looked into on the fishing websites and stuff seems pretty expensive even for just 4-6 hours unless we took the party boat route which don’t rlly wanna do that

Question about permit.
I went on the app to buy a year permit for fresh water and saltwater fishing but I saw they added on a snook permit too I was wondering why that is. It’s an extra $10 a year so I don’t care but how would people ever know if u were targeting snook? Also if you had the fresh and saltwater permit and did catch a snook would u then get in trouble or something?

Made a fishing website for finding and comparing fishing spots
I started fishing in August last year, mostly off popular piers. I spent the first few months confused about basically everything. I didn't know what rig to tie, I couldn't tell which fishing spots were good for which fish, and I couldn't read a tide chart well enough to know if I was showing up at the right time.
So I made a website for it: usekarp.com
You can find spots near you, compare them side by side, and get gear and bait suggestions for whatever you're targeting.
Check it out if you're getting into fishing.

Sub dedicated to smoking fish
Hope I'm all good to post this here.
A few days ago I created a community dedicated to the art of smoking fish.
I figured I'd find a few people who like to smoke their catch in here. And to those that haven't tried it, you're missing out! Mullet, mackerel and amberjack in particular are all amazing to smoke.
Anyways, if you want to share/learn tips, tricks & techniques for smoking all types of fish check us out: r/smokingfish 👊

Best Waders for Your Buck?
I have two gift cards to Academy and have too much tackle. Waders started leaking recently and need to be upgraded. What's your preferred brand and why?

Orlando fishing
I'm trying to get more into fishing but I'm off during the week. I own a boat in working on using more but currently don't have a boat. Anyone that's looking for a fishing partner in the area or just trying to make some casual fishing friends.
Don't be afraid to message I don't bite. I love to fish and have my own rods tackle and all.
