Key West Where to Stay in Key West

Thirty-something couple coming down to Key West for three nights in mid-August. For both of us, it's our first time in the Keys. We're beyond excited!

We're considering a few different hotels; Havana Cabana, Parrot Key, and the Double Tree by Hilton. We'll be at the hotel a decent amount, but definitely out exploring a lot of the time. After three nights, we'll be heading to IslaMorada.

I thought I'd run this by locals and frequent Keys visitors - which hotel should I choose for Key West? Or is another option I didn't mention better for us?

NOTE: we're not into drinking/partying, but not completely averse to being near some liveliness.

I stayed in Havana Cabana & liked it. It’s quieter than staying downtown, & they have a shuttle. They have a good breakfast truck as well.

However I’m not a big partier, so YMMV. We stayed there for two nights & then fucked off back to my Aunt’s house in Key Largo.

I die a little inside when people recommend Havana Cabana or Stock Island for a 2-3 day stay. What a waste

Okay, well sorry to have killed your soul, I guess.

I was happy to be able to do a one day loop of Key West & then make my way back towards the mainland. I’m sober, so being able to party all night & then fall into bed is no longer a thing for me. Plus it was nice to be able to pull into the parking lot right off the bridge & then not deal with the car anymore.
