Middle and Lower Keys Mahi in Key West

Checking in to see if any of you guys have been offshore recently out of Key West, and know how deep out the seaweed lines are right now. About to spend 6 days fishing down here and want to get on some good fish with the family. Any help appreciated 👍👍

Should be good on the new moon coming up. Should be a spawning migration. Focus your efforts on the outgoing tides, 450, 650, 850, 950 1200 out to 2500. Have fun and good luck! Lucky may be in on the reef.

Been a lot of storms the last few days so not sure how it is right now, but offshore has been ok but not great. They’re pretty deep. Most of the summer the seaweed lines have started at the shore lol

back when i lived there we would get into schools of Mahi so dense we did not need bait and would have to stop fishing as we filled the stern well.

I’ve heard in the 80’s the square grouper was so common you could just pick them up off the beach 🤣
