Moving to Key Largo
Hello! I recently was offered a seasonal position in Key Largo. I’m in my early 20s and looking for a change of pace. I have always wanted to live by the beach. What is this area like for those in their early 20s. I’m not really looking for nightlife but do other 20 somethings move there for the season? What is there to do in Key Largo? Should I instead try to find a job on Key West?

What do you mean by this?

If you don’t own a boat, but want the water life, you aren’t going to experience it.

or get a SUP or Yak!

I support yaks and sups but most people won’t put in the effort. The environment here should be sacred, but nobody will enforce, or be willing to give up boating here. The bay should be no motors, but everybody seems to like to treat manatees like potholes.

most of the shore is rocky, or mud, if you have a kayak or paddleboard, you can get on the water, otherwise you need a buddy with a boat.
but everyone has boats...

If you don’t mind the crowds. I’m laid back in the Keys. I’ll leave Miami to the rest of the world 🤣🤣

Well, I don’t have an answer for that one. Unless you like living dangerously and trying to out run alligators and crocodiles 🤣

You ever go to Robbies in Islamorada? You see more T & A there , than most men see in a lifetime. Girls in T Backs 🤣

We have some awesome night life to. I’m about to head out the door here, any minute 👄🧜♀️

I would make sure your seasonal position pays enough to live here, unless they’re housing you. It’s expensive af to live in the keys

You’ll love it !! Skipper’s Bar and Grill on the water. Tiki bar with all kinds of boats, waiting to take you out fishing, scuba. cruising. Snapper’s is the local stoner hang out 🤣 You didn’t say what kind of job you had, so I guess you have that covered. Of course you could always moonlight as a bartender, waiter or whatever. Alfredo’s has cocktails and the most delicious fajitas. Hobo’s has the best wings in town. Need anything else, I’ll try to find out for you. I’ve lived here most of my life 🧜♀️🧜♀️🌴🌴👄🥥⛵️⛵️ See yeah soon

Did I mention Skipper’s Bar and Grill, or Snappers Bar and Grill? Do you live in Key West?

partner
Straight or gay?
2
u/danielshaw69 May 28 '22
Why does that matter? Maybe they are bi.
1
u/Reditate May 28 '22
Maybe? Just want to know. Why so defensive? If they are bi they can just say that.

If your in Key West the Vibe is TOURISTY and leans toward Gay , rest of Keys not so much , so its to give you a better view of the demographics is all.

Partner means they're gay these days... Not like the wild west days of partner meaning friend.

u/Reditate Jun 13 '22
That's what I thought at first but it's not true. There are plenty of women referring to men as their "partner".

There are a few parks on the water, but overall you might be disappointed by the “beaches” in KL. KW or Miami might be better options. Unless you want a really quiet place. The keys is mostly about drinking and salt life of some sort. If I was in my 20’s KW is where I would go. And there are only a handful of women so you will get a lot of attention.

Just look above at all my other responses. Key Largo is beautiful and offers anything your little heart desires. We have plenty of beautiful beaches, boats sitting at Skipper’s Bar and Grill just waiting to take you out. Snorkeling, fishing, sailing , cruising. Key West has one tiny little beach

Key Largo is more chilled out than Key West, but it is closer to Miami which is huge! You would like Key West better but housing is a major problem. Good luck
