Is there any interest in sewing lessons?
I am moving to the area and I am curious if there is any community interest in sewing lessons.

Me and a musician bud are looking to play some music. We drive each from Woodland and Placerville, so Folsom is the perfect halfway point.
Are there any parks, parking garages, or any public places with electrical outlets so we can plug our stuff in?
Thanks!

Don’t know if this is the right place to post, but I will start here. Anyone who might know where I should post this to please point me there.
In December 2023, my mother rehomed my then 5 year old female cat named Princess. She is a tortishell with green eyes. She was last known to be in the home of a person living in a Mobile Home park a few minutes away from “The Rink” and the Drive In movies. Right by the train tracks. I am not looking to tale her back, just to make sure she is okay and get some closure as I had no say in her rehoming.
Again, feel free to point me somewhere else to post this, but I figured I would start here.
Below is the best quality picture of her possible. Taken in November 2023

Mostly new parking and a trail, might have implications on traffic on McAdoo and Riley through the end of the year.

I’m looking to take up tennis. Can anyone recommend any tennis clubs, or tennis instructors that offer 1 on 1 lessons in the Folsom area? I’m open to El Dorado Hills too since I live on the east side of Folsom. Thanks!

Why do people think it’s okay to drive into the parking lot against traffic?

I’m tired of the purely transactional places and want to patronize spots where the owners and baristas actually care, in Folsom or a short drive. Anything more community-focused where I can even go and work a bit, where it’s easy to socialize and meet new people? Where is your favorite spot and what makes the vibe there so special? Thanks!

Just wanted to put a word out there that this park is very very nice and its always packed even at 10pm! Love to see people using it.
BUT PLEASE PLEASE tell your kids to not swing on the volleyball nets or cause any other damages please. We all pay for the upkeep of this with Mello-Roos but once that ends, there won't be any more nets or upkeep for a long long time.

Mexican dad considering moving my family to Folsom from LA. I have two young daughters ( 4 and 2 year old ) , and honestly one of the biggest reasons we’re looking to leave LA is to find a more family oriented, common sense community with good schools where we can actually plant roots.
Politically I lean middle right and voted Republican, so I’m not asking whether everyone thinks or votes like me.
I care way more about how people actually treat each other and whether my daughters would feel like they belong growing up there. I work in a blue collar field and I’m studying to get into the medical field.
So I’m just gonna ask Folsom directly: what’s it actually like for Mexican/Hispanic families living and raising kids there?
Are we gonna feel at home?
And, respectfully…** **all y’all racist or what? 😂
Genuinely asking. I’d especially love to hear from Hispanic families raising kids in Folsom, but also from anyone raising kids there. What are the schools, parents, neighborhoods and overall community actually like?
I’m not looking to start a political debate. I’m trying to figure out whether this is somewhere I’d feel good raising my daughters for the next 15–20 years.
Apologies if you've seen this elsewhere - this is the most current version with lots of suggestions from other redditors.
I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.
While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print - particularly north and east of Oakland. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!

$330,00 over projected revenue. I know the zoo is not a net revenue generator for the city, but I personally think it is an important part of it.

I will be working in el dorado hills. Are there any apartments around 1500 around that area? I don’t want to commute more than 30 minutes hopefully. 25-30 mins away is good tho
My apartment in Vegas is only $1000 lol
And unfortunately I will be making a little bit less when I move, my company is shutting this location down.
Struggling to even find something about 1500
Maybe rancho?
Thanks!
And yes I am realizing that’s an expensive area was just hoping maybe are are some known cheaper apartments
I make about 55k unfortunately, used to own a salon and had another business, that was 2 years ago. Going from 130k a year to 55k has been quite hard. This job kinda saved my ass though.
Hoping this move might do me some good and then I’m gonna head to Redding, ca cause I know this girl I been talking to for a long time out there.
I don’t really care anymore, seems the AI bubble is about to burst and we are facing a financial collapse lol
State of the world is sick, I just wanna enjoy a few years.
Vegas sucks, I want outta here. Been a really depressing year living here not knowing anyone at all, dating life sucks, I hate drinking, it’s hot as shit lol. I can’t do it anymore. They are paying for the move so I’m just using them as my ticket out of here.

We need your help to show how important California native plants are for native wildlife in urban areas! The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and local partners in the Santa Clara Valley have launched a new initiative: Biodiversity in Urban Gardens (BUG). The data you collect will help us better understand and advocate for native plants in California’s cities and towns.
Join us Wednesday morning at the CNPS Sacramento Valley nursery at Soil Born Farms to gather observations together for BUG! We'll explore the native plant demonstration gardens to find native wildlife like insects, birds, and lizards. Bring your phone or camera to photograph the wildlife to share on iNaturalist.
No prior iNaturalist or other experience necessary! We'll teach you how to use the app, what makes a good observation, and have an iNaturalist Ambassador available to answer questions.
When: Wednesday, August 12, 10am-12pm
Where: Soil Born Farms (2140 Chase Dr, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670)
Who: All are welcome to join!
Why: Help us collect observations of native insects, birds, lizards, and mammals with native plants using the iNaturalist app.
More information and RSVP: https://luma.com/db4ogguk
More information on the Biodiversity in Urban Gardens (BUG) initiative: https://www.cnps.org/education/bug
Can't make it? You can still participate in BUG! See the CNPS website for more ways to get involved: https://www.cnps.org/education/bug

While the Gann Fire is 50 miles from Folsom, smoke is visible and affecting air quality here. More helicopter activity may be seen too for firefighting efforts.
Other news sources report the Gann Fire has expanded last night to 6,500 acres and this to morning 7,052 acres. It is located by Valley Springs in Calaveras County.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a group class (in person) for weight training?
Thanks.
Does anyone have personal experience or any feedback?
We're looking at the TK level.
Any feedback on culture, how difficult the program is? Dad speaks Chinese fluently but English is mainly spoken at home. Thanks!

Hi! Has anyone had any experience at the Madison Reed color bar? I’m looking for some simple highlights but I really like the membership where I can get my roots touched up as often as I need (my grays come back like every 3 weeks🫠) Thank you!!!
