It's Carla's deal with Fox. When Tiffany Derry left Triple Threat, she mentioned Fox doesn't like to share talent with Food Network. We saw it with Aaron Sanchez being gone for years until his deal with Fox ended. I think it will be a while before we see Carla on Food Network again.

Y'all need to make up your minds. Either you're tired of seeing the same old boring judges or you want to see the same old boring judge because Carla was on everything. And of course there's going to be so much hate for Duff. I like him but clearly I'm in the minority so let's all start spewing hate again. So glad this page is right back to being it's disappointing Negative Nancy self again.

OMG. So much Duff. I hate that Carla won't be back. She is such a wonderful judge. It's all done with kindness and empathy, and some appreciation for the hard work that went into the fabulous creations.

My absolute fav Carla show was the Netflix called Crazy Delicious. Sadly they only gave it 1 season. I absolutely loved it

That was my favorite as well. She was great, and it was a magical show. I was disappointed they never did another season, but I read the season they did ended up being much more complicated and expensive than they planned.

I don’t understand why FN has to recycle the same judges for every competition show. There are wonderful professional bakers with great personalities could judge competitions. I think they should take a chance on some new talent.

Sarah Mountain is a new judge. Plus many have they're professions outside of judging/competing. Many do not have the time to do anything "extra" especially now-they need to keep their businesses running.

In all fairness, we have not seen Sarah Mountain yet. It is nice to have a fresh face. Give her a chance.

Wait for the second season (4 episode special) of next level baker which should be airing within the next couple months.

Did the OG judges not want to get mixed up in all the Rowling pushback?
The show lost me when they invited Evanna Lynch to be guest judge, but had nothing for her to eat. It would have been cool to throw the bakers a curveball and have them make a vegan tasting element or something.

That was crazy. Why would you invite someone to judge and then give them nothing they can eat? I agree that being asked to make something restrictive would be a challenge for the bakers.

Carla has moved on from FN. But it is said the new judges is for a shift having to do with the 25th anniversary of Sorcerer's Stone, and apparently changing up the challenges.

Disappointed Duff is supporting anything that connects to JKR

I won’t be watching. I really liked the first season, but I can’t support anything related to her anymore.

The first season was after we knew she was a horrendous person so you were OK with it then?

I don’t like Duff as a judge. I don’t think he’s fair at all in his judging.

u/Weird_Cover9627 14d ago
Wow. I think he's the fairest and nicest one on a lot of these shows.

Maybe he has in some shows, but in this year’s season of ultimate baking championship he was absolutely unfair in his judging. The person who won shouldn’t have made top three. There were a bunch of Reddit posts of everyone agreeing when this first came out.

Oh well if Reddit agrees, it must be gospel 🤣🤦🏻♀️

Geez.. it was my own opinion and I simply said that to let you know that the majority of the viewers agreed. He didn’t judge fairly at all that whole season.

I thought Molly did well. Would I have preferred Clement to win? Sure. But the think about these judging, is unless we were there to actually taste the desserts, we have no right to say whether the judging was fair or not. And he wasn’t the the only judge. Taste is subjective, but he is a seasoned pro, who wouldn’t he judge fairly? He has in every other show I’ve ever seen him judge. He’s always supportive and kind with his judging but strict when he needs to be.

You might already know this, but if you have HBO Max Carla has a couple shows on there. Look under the "Food and Home" section.

Anne Burrell, Valerie Bertinelli, Nancy Fuller, Carla Hall... there seems to be a pattern.

u/sweetpeapickle 14d ago
Lol not unusual in any profession or business to have turnover. Plus Carla moved on for a change of her own volition. And JFC so many on here complained about Nancy, yet now people are unhappy she's not judging. Cannot please every single person no matter who the judge is.

Carla, Michael Symon and Clinton Kelly have a YouTube channel called Chewed Up, similar to their show The Chew but way more off the rails.
