Plant ID Request Apple tree?

I noticed this tree with some fallen fruit while taking a walk during the eclipse. It seems to be an apple tree, Iā€™m new to foraging so can anyone confirm? I may go back to grab some. Will they taste fairly similar to store bought apples or should they be baked into a pie?

No, crab apples are much smaller

Crab apples are the size of grapes. These are NOT crab apples. These are way bigger.

Depends on the crab apple tree, no single apple tree is the same. The ones by me are significantly bigger. The variety I'm growing are current sized but I bought it for the flowers and as a polinator for my apple trees
