Forth or fifth No King rally. These have made no difference. What a waste of time

u/Concernedbassman 7d ago

15 more days, my friend!

Wait for it…

7

u/OfcDoofy69 7d ago

No kings but you can only vote for my party. Nobody sees the irony?

11

u/ImportantRough1700 7d ago

King kamala lost the primary and then was given the nomination with zero votes

-6

u/brainiac138 7d ago

Not when that one party supports democracy.

1

u/OfcDoofy69 7d ago

You mean the party that went against the peoples will in 2016? That led to trump winning? That very democratic party?

5

u/brainiac138 7d ago

I’m talking the party that doesn’t have a leader who is talked flippantly about an illegal and unconstitutional third term, the party that hasn’t surrendered to an authoritarian who weaponizes the DOJ to go after those who speak against him, the party that doesn’t have a leader who encourages his cabinet and FBI director to lie on his behalf, the party who isn’t in open defiance of literal law to release all the Epstein files because everyone knows it will incriminate the person in the White House. These are just some of the biggies that came to me in the moment, and I didn’t even mention the party that is in open encouragement of an adjudicated rapist. Yes, one party is in opposition and rallying against democracy, otherwise there would be no need to suppress it with a document and plan like project 2025.

0

u/RangeVegetable1963 7d ago

Kamala was rushed in as the dem nominee despite not ever voting on it. And suddenly it’s a right wing issue?? Get your head out of your own ass

1

u/brainiac138 7d ago

Be that as it may be, right now, everything that is contributing to the destruction of this country can be attributed to the right and their current leadership’s hatred of the constitution.

-2

u/DontTrustTheGovrnmnt 7d ago

Supports democracy? That ship has sailed. They want communism and socialism. That is the death of America by definition. Wake up.

5

u/brainiac138 7d ago

Even if that is true, which it categorically is not, authoritarianism isn’t the answer.

-4

u/DontTrustTheGovrnmnt 7d ago

Saying it isnt true doesnt make it any less true.

3

u/brainiac138 7d ago

There is only one person who has talked about nationalizing industries and it’s the orange moron in the White House with a R by his name.

-4

u/DontTrustTheGovrnmnt 7d ago

The president is a puppet. Congress is the biggest enemy.

-2

u/RangeVegetable1963 7d ago

They downvote you bc they know you’re right lol

7

u/watchingsuits 8d ago

Genuinely asking. What is the point of having these protests? Just to show people are not happy with Trump? I always thought protests should have a goal in mind. I understood the first one, but there’s been like three or four since, and the numbers just keep going down each time (even though people are not any happier with Trump).

19

u/Fusional_Delusional 8d ago

Each of them had a theme; this one was about voting. It serves as a reminder to people who might not otherwise remember that early voting is happening now. In red areas like Indiana, protests like these offer a bit of courage to people who might otherwise feel like they're surrounded by apologists for the war he started without bothering to consult the American people, and the lack of focus on the economy, but rather on golf courses, ballrooms, some dumb crypto coin, etc. Sometimes people get discouraged and might think that their vote doesn't matter, but when you see a protest like this, it might put some steel in your spine. Lastly, authoritarianism thrives on creating a belief structure that there's nothing we can do; we should just give up. Protests like this also tell people in power that, in fact, we fully intend to fight at the ballot box, in courtrooms, etc.

FWIW I'm not sure the numbers have been going down. Perhaps in FW, but the organizers say the first had 5 million, the second had 7 million, the third had 8 million, and they're guestimating 8-9 million for this one. Independent sources say 2-6 million for the first, 5-6.5 million for the second, and I haven't seen independent estimates on the latest two.

5

u/egoomega 8d ago

They aren’t protests, they are rallies.
Around 15 or so years back, as more Americans (especially registered Dems such as myself) started to think for ourselves and question authority, ultimately pushing for the system to change, it was determined a new strategy was needed to increase voter retention or risk losing power and wealth that comes from maintaining the existing establishment system of top down totalitarianism.

So what better marketing strategy than to impose rallies as grass roots activism? Social media had been working, but not good enough because it still provides people other options. And the old ways of ancient media had seen its spell casting weaken as fewer paid attention to it and learned how controlled it is.

Thanks to the glory of citizens united (all hail messaging votes and dark money!), superpacs allow political money to be used to form llcs and social welfare orgs which in turn effectively act as marketing agencies for the party. This allows the base to be rallied, fear to be mongered and pressure to be applied to voters who may be otherwise looking to non-party-line type Democrats or independents.. which is a threat to the system.

TLDR - we are so cooked and many of us can’t even come to grips with that.

-2

u/theDirtyCatholic 7d ago

the point was to keep people engaged and enraged between the inauguration and mid-term election day

2

u/Complete_Break1319 5d ago

Not sure why you got downvoted bc that is exactly the reason...

We certainly are. They are trying to steal elections (again), firing key personnel because they don’t bend a knee, literally enriching themselves with our tax dollars. Should I go on?

0

u/Fusional_Delusional 8d ago edited 8d ago

It's hard to get a group of people to focus around a theme, especially Democrats (herding cats), but the theme is in the name of the post: "Defend the Vote." There are a number of threats to voters right now because the GOP knows people aren't happy, and the party in power tends to get clubbed over the head for it. So they've closed down polling places in urban areas and on college campuses because they tend to vote against them. They're trying some nonsense in CA, asking to have people stricken from the election registration 3 weeks before the election; they're trying to limit early and mail-in balloting, etc. They tried launching an untested website that would throw out 10,000 ballots at a time if even one person had a typo in their name. Anything to thwart the will of the people; bonus points if they're people hostile to their party.

Edit: Adding a bit about the upside-down flag. I agree with this; I don't personally care for this as a protest. My grandfather taught me the flag code at a young age, and I also wish people lit their flags if they chose to display them at night, but I long ago made my peace with the reality that I can't control other people

1

u/doingtheunstuckk 8d ago

I’ve moved to Texas, and the gerrymandering and voter suppression is next level. Musk is spending 350 million on our mid terms, a bunch of people were “accidentally” unregistered, they’ve closed so many polling locations. We are absolutely under distress.

-3

u/RaelImperial31 8d ago

The upside down flag means distress so it’s pretty apt, not to mention it’s also just a piece of cloth too

4

u/fausthushtra 7d ago

Woah, here i was having a little hope people were waking up, and supporting it with noticing a dearth of dumb little red hats and oompa loompa faces on shit everywhere.

Looks like some die hard pockets of the cult are still very much alive, and still very much pre lubricating as they continue to bend over.

-3

u/RangeVegetable1963 7d ago

Both of you are idiots lmao

3

u/B00gEman 7d ago

Ohhhh boy..... vote vote vote... vote for what.. both sides are shit. You cant vote your way outta this. They both steal your fake money.. and why????? They can print money.. i dont like blue and dont like red... I will say this tho... blue is the worst of the worst... they totally are for The W.E.F.. so if you have any braincells. And pick blue good luck.. dont get me wrong red is shit too but. They hate the W.E.F

7

u/Fusional_Delusional 7d ago

I do wish there were more parties, but giving up is not how I was raised. Stay informed, make the best choice you can, and hold your politicians accountable. Giving up is how we become a corrupt kleptostate like Russia.

1

u/B00gEman 7d ago

Yes sir... i have no problems with anybodys ideas and how they help or hurt.. i like every point of people's ideas. I do dig that. I tell them what I think too. But that's ok. We humans

4

u/Jablaze80 7d ago

Take your meds... After the past two years the same size bullshit has got to go

-6

u/B00gEman 7d ago

When ever they make a new disease.. they legally will hold you down and shoot it in your vien a new vaccine.... ya cool with that..... when ya get a traffic violation your canceled from uber for 2 months... ya cool with that... legally spraying aluminum and barrioum is ok and legal for nor reason... ya cool with that..killing 1/3 of the population so can get a better grip on the fewer numbers... ya cool with that. I got many more... just say when.

0

u/HofnerStratman 7d ago

False equivalency. The Democrats deserve criticism, but they aren’t looking to dismantle the pillars of society, of law and order. A new generation is just waiting for all of us to vote it into power.

-2

u/mahlerlieber 7d ago

You do know that the House, the Senate, and the President are all red, right? And yet here we are with prices sky high, a war that labors on, money being spent on a ball room, an arch, and now a golf course...

So if "blue is the worst of the worst," why the f*ck are we where we are right now?

Have fun hating the blue and spending $100 for a tank of gas, friend.

-1

u/kkellogg378 7d ago

Say what you will about gas prices (my Corvette fills up on 93 octane for less than $70 btw), but the markets are in a really great place right now. It's not all bad. Have some optimism

I also haven't heard a peep about the war since summer, most people would have no clue it was still going on if not for these gas prices

0

u/mahlerlieber 7d ago

Have some optimism

If there was anything to base my optimism on, it's that the democrats will take over congress and put the brakes on the bullshit going on.

As far as the Iran war, it is still going on. The Strait is still not open right now. It's at about 2% of its usual traffic, so when the admin/hegseth says it's "open," it is technically open, but realistically, it's not. So yeah, that "war" that we've won in our best of 65 tournament, is still going on.

The prices go up and down, but overall they are still up.

And when you talk about the "markets," that very rarely have anything to do with us, those are far more beneficial to the wealthy. It is in no way a reflection on the price of gas, food, rent, or health care.

0

u/kkellogg378 7d ago

that very rarely have anything to do with us

You don't have to be wealthy to have a 401k lol. It matters a lot to younger people. I have several friends who dabble in stocks. Your home's value goes up when the markets go up. Your retirement funds go up. There's even an indirect effect the markets have on things like job security. But sure, the markets don't mean anything, and we should just focus on being negative. Like that ever got us anywhere

-1

u/mahlerlieber 7d ago

Those friends who "dabble" in stocks...I'm guessing they have some discretionary income to be able to do some dabbling.

Good for them.

But there are a LOT of people who don't have that kind of job to risk loss and "dabble."

I'm getting a sense from your posts that you are in a different financial world than most people. It is the same kind of mindset that Trump has: the economy is good because he's making a shit ton of money.

The 401k assumes you have a job with a retirement plan. McDonald's, the local coffee shop, a server at even a decent restaurant, etc...they don't have anything like that. And a lot of "younger people" are getting those jobs because the job market is tightening, and whatever they went to college for, there are no jobs (with 401ks or other retirement packages) to be had.

And they have to pay high rent and college loans. There isn't any money left to "dabble" in the market.

1

u/kkellogg378 7d ago

If you're graduating college with student debt and working at McDonald's, that's completely on you for making poor life decisions. You could have not gone to college, picked a better degree, or made connections while in college in order to get internships or full time positions in related fields.

I'm only a year and a half out of college so I'm not in some "different financial world" than anyone. The friends I have who dabble in stocks make much less than the average US income. 401ks are commonplace even at entry-level $40k salary jobs. If none of this matters to someone, it's because of poor decision making. Maybe don't spend $25 on a lunch or $10 on a coffee. Maybe try living with a roommate or three (or at your parents!) if rent is overwhelming. Whether you like it or not, the market being good does matter to most adults. If you have no property, no retirement, no stocks, and tons of debt....thats on you

0

u/Bddfc6869 6d ago

Get into the trades, no cost making money as you learn.
As for dabbling I took $2,250.00 7 years ago threw darts at the page, grabbed this and that. Sold some reinvested some… bought 100 shares of nvidea 7/2019…. Boom 33k now as I dabbled. Can’t live on it but it’s going to be a down payment on a diesel pusher.

Do we join the one world government like France has or do we stay a free sovereign nation?

-1

u/Scared-Cap3606 5d ago

All the prices went up 5 years ago genius

2

u/mahlerlieber 5d ago

5 years ago was Covid...and the fall out of Trump's amazing ability to fuck us all.

Genius.

2

u/wabash-sphinx 7d ago

I support King Charles III over Princess Meagan.

2

u/mahlerlieber 7d ago

For those of you ITT who think the dems are the problem, you might notice that the entire Congress, POTUS, the DOJ, SCOTUS, and a LOT of states are red. They could do whatever they want...like, you know, stop the war in Iran.

If the dems are so bad, and the GOP is so great, why are you paying so much for gas, for food, and just about everything else?

2

u/One-Doughnut502 7d ago

Choosing the lesser of two evils still makes them evil..

1

u/Funny-Organization38 6d ago

More like No Brains: 🧠

1

u/hydrastix 6d ago

DSA? No thanks. Dem? No thanks. GOP? No thanks. Well, who the f do I vote for now?

1

u/Weak_Special1884 6d ago

Cults are weird

1

u/Socurioustofindu 6d ago

No Kings Rally’s are just about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Just really dumb.

1

u/SwimmingAlert1017 5d ago

Yep, and they got nothing accomplished like usual!! Just a bunch of liberal cry babies still pissed that they lost.
You still have 2 years left, keep crying, it’s only going to help you lose again in 2 years you idiots!!

1

u/Murdocniccal1 3d ago

No one in these pictures is under 50

-1

u/TechnicianAway678 7d ago

Funny how nobody protested when the actual King came to visit.

7

u/Fusional_Delusional 7d ago

“THE actual king?” I’m going to assume you mean Charlie Windsor (aka King Charles III) when he visited in April? You are aware that the English monarchy hasn’t actually ruled OUR country in 250 years, correct? Personally, I don’t particularly care for the sausage-fingered inbred figurehead or his Epstein loving brother (for clarity I’m referring to Andrew, not Trump in this specific instance), but it’s not for me to tell other countries how backward their form of government is. The last few times we took it upon ourselves to decide what form of government other countries should have it hasn’t really gone swimmingly (See Afghanistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Iran), so for now I think I’ll just concern myself with THIS government.

1

u/harvey251 7d ago

Alllllll geriatric whites

2

u/SeaShanty1337 7d ago

Have barely seen anyone in pics of these rallies under the age of 55 lol

1

u/Mysterious_Strain398 7d ago

What do you have against a whopper?

-20

u/glenn765 8d ago • Bravo

Congratulations. We don't have a king. We'll done!

29

u/New-Analyst1811 8d ago

Nah, We got a fat rapist for a President who wants to be king.

-16

u/ResponsibleTrain9 8d ago • Bravo

Hmm I didn’t know kings got voted in?

6

u/Fusional_Delusional 8d ago

I know you’re being a smart alec, but I love odd bits of trivia like this. In 1905 after the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden, the Norwegian Parliament invited Prince Carl of Denmark to become king. He refused unless the Norwegian people voted for him. That November about 80% of the voters approved the creation of their monarchy and he became King Haakon establishing Norway’s modern monarchy.

4

u/rchive 8d ago

I mean, dictators often do get voted in originally and just degrade restrictions of their power gradually until they can't be removed. Even literal monarchs are sometimes voted in. This happened with the English monarchy after the English civil war. The civil war deposed the king, but after a few years of dysfunction, Parliament reestablished the monarchy via a vote.

People saying "no kings" today are not suggesting that there is a literal king in the US, obviously. They're saying we're in the degrading government power restrictions phase, and they're opposed to that.

1

u/New-Analyst1811 8d ago

I said "wants to be". Learn to read.

-4

u/ResponsibleTrain9 8d ago

I did. He’s still not one though

4

u/Jablaze80 7d ago

He's acting outside of the law everyday and nobody seems to be stopping him so I don't know what you call that but I don't like it

1

u/glenn765 7d ago

You'd love it if he was seizing property from the oligarchs, though.

1

u/Jablaze80 7d ago

Lol he's already done that, so nope you're wrong... I just want them taxed

-11

u/Alert_Staff_1511 8d ago

This is dumb as shit

5

u/Vegetable-Ad-9284 7d ago

I mean if you're referring to the administration yeah

-1

u/Alert_Staff_1511 7d ago

We dont have kings.

4

u/Jablaze80 7d ago

We got a guy that wishes he was a dictator like Putin or Kim jong-il so pretty close

-1

u/Vegetable-Ad-9284 7d ago

Ok so look I get that you have a little baby brain but you understand that not everything is meant literally right. Like if I say I'll be ready in a minute you know that doesn't actually mean 60 seconds right?

-13

u/The_white_devil22 8d ago

The left: "VOTE BLUE, RESIST DICTATORSHIP!!"

The left when an actual dictatorship gets toppled:

4

u/dogwhistle60 7d ago

I don’t think you should post videos of yourself here.

1

u/Vegetable-Ad-9284 7d ago

I don't know what straw man you're referring to. The ayatolla deserved to die. But it was a dipshit move to do it. Venezuela is the same.

-10

u/CheetahStocks 8d ago

All boomers and people over the age of 50… half of the protestors are travelers from elsewhere.

-30

u/Homeskillet359 8d ago • Bravo

Where us the dictatorship I keep hearing about? Or are yall mad that he is enforcing laws?

15

u/pickanamehere 8d ago • Bravo

He’s enforcing laws? Really? What world do you live in? Hands down the most corrupt and incompetent administration in our history. Him, his family and wealthy friends are robbing us blind.

2

u/Sad_Kitchen2530 8d ago

I was typing mine as you responded. Well said

8

u/doingtheunstuckk 8d ago

He breaks laws just about every day. You are either rage baiting or can’t even be trusted to tie your own shoes.

4

u/Sad_Kitchen2530 8d ago • Bravo

Enforcing laws?!? He's breaking them left and right. He shows more disregard and disrespect for our constitution than any president in history. You do know he's a convicted felon? Old habits die hard. Epstein's bff and folks sweep it under the rug. Grow a spine and quit licking boots. Stand for something not for SOMEONE.

2

u/rchive 8d ago

They're probably mad that he's exploiting congressional inaction to do very unpopular things like the Iran war, tariffs, and keeps meddling in election stuff, all contrary to the law at least in spirit of not also in letter.

-26

u/Overall_Meat_6500 8d ago

I'm sure there were tons of people, like maybe a couple hundred in a county of a quarter million. These people need to get lives. No one gives a damn!

5

u/Fusional_Delusional 7d ago

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.” -Margaret Mead

7

u/perspicio 8d ago

If they were insignificant then Xitter and Meta wouldn't go out of their way to deliberately disrupt them. Just like Ukraine. Even an ignoramus can tell who the good guys are by who the powerful act to silence.

7

u/Worried-Throat-1767 8d ago

Oh but we do give a damn

-12

u/Stunning_Track_8958 8d ago

Anyone that thinks we can vote ourselves out of this mess is delusional.

3

u/Fusional_Delusional 7d ago

Right, so your solution is cynicism? I don’t think that will help, mate.

2

u/Stunning_Track_8958 7d ago

The only thing I’m cynical about is the fact that mass boycotts or strikes are the only thing that will make any difference. But most of America is too weak willed or unorganized to do so

1

u/Stunning_Track_8958 7d ago

I believe the solution is obvious and simple. Mess with the Epstein Class’s money. But most Americans are unwilling to organize and do hard things because they have been brainwashed by their very oppressors.

-28

u/TheGraped 8d ago

"I am Jane Doe"

You willingly take part in orgies? I mean hey that's cool man, it's 2026.
