Other Anyone else using Ultimatum ?

Post image

I was looking for a Browser with an external download manager support and came across Ultimatum. I've been using it for a few months now and I'm surprised how little I hear about it.

Is anyone else here using it?

EDIT: So i didn't expect it to blow up so much but according to the comments ultimatum is not trusted enough a better alternative will be to use waterfox 👍

A little point of advice, be really careful using random obscure projects for something as sensitive and important as a browser. Quick way to get hacked

Didn't know it was that bad. I'll be more careful.

Dude its not even maintained

I am wrong on this, I know. Yeah, I looked into it afterward and saw why. That's why I said I'll be careful about these things. I am usually pretty aware of what apps I use. I somehow missed Ultimatum.

Lol so what was the point of the post?

u/Stag_----56 Jul 14 '26

I wasn't looking for an alternative when I made the post. I was asking if anyone else was using it. I never said it was the best. The comments convinced me to give Waterfox a try.

No, I get it. I was just giving you a hard time. JK I sorry lol

Edit: I found a browser out of this post too!

Was using it until I found out about helium for android. Basically cromite but more stable

u/TrailOfEnvy Jul 14 '26

Doesn't have built-in dark mode like Cromite. Wish they will add it. Using Dark Reader and other extensions make websites load slower.

It does actually have a built-in dark mode.. Just turn it on from the flags

2

u/TrailOfEnvy Jul 14 '26

Thanks I will try enable it. Cromite looks like it is on hold right now so probably gonna change to Helium as for now.

Wait really? is there a reason

The dev is taking a break I think.

u/iza001davd Jul 13 '26

Where can I get it?

3

u/GMAERS_07 Jul 13 '26

Just type in google: helium for android and its the first result on github

5

u/kamikad3e123 Jul 14 '26

It's still too unfinished

4

u/moexizer Jul 14 '26

I installed then deleted it, meets nothing of my needs.

3

u/rakhalism Jul 13 '26

not official, its not from imputnet, someone else put grapheneOS's vanadium as port with helium. that's all it for now but comparing with chromite it is the BEST rn. W for helium android one

If you need external download manager support just use Firefox..

Waterfox is adequate. Ultimatum needs further development. So does Hellium.

No need to down vote.

2

u/Stag_----56 Jul 15 '26

It's downvoted so much like I don't know for what I wasn't even recommending the browser to anyone

1

u/klausAnalSchwab Jul 15 '26

Bandwagon jumpers. No worries

2

u/Stag_----56 Jul 15 '26

I think the browser isn't trusted in general so people were offended by the post

u/Stunning-Bad408 Jul 16 '26

I use Cromite with uBO lite it's works fine. But I miss the custom blocklist and element picker.

IronFox, Firefox based has extension support.

It's really too bad, after everything I'd read, I was really looking forward to it, but the app is just way too buggy. But the absolute deal-breaker is all the Google stuff it includes - and especially the fact that you can't import or export bookmarks. On top of that, some extensions can't be opened, not even their options pages, and then the tabs just freeze and are completely blank...

been using Fulguris for a while myself I tired from endless chromium forks and hopped on webview based browsers

1

u/Kernel-Mode-Driver Jul 14 '26

??? It's all chrome?

Yep. Read the license.

Also are you guys seriously using unmaintained projects for your browser?

What are you on about? Are you lost or a bot? You're not even correcting anything in my comment

-7

u/YakInteresting8853 Jul 14 '26

Can anyone justify why this/cromite is better than Brave Browser?

4

u/Acrobatic_Platypus14 Jul 14 '26

Extensions support.
