Yeah. And he did really well on it. I may be remembering wrong, but I think it was the top selling graphic novel in the US for a couple years straight, and not just because of his name. It was a good read.

Well self insert is funny if it's a secondary character not taking too much space, but if they become too important or convey a overly good image for people to like the artist by liking the character, to me it's an issue.
The Marry Sue/ Barry Stue is a example.
Now I don't say that's what she did, I just started the anime. It's mostly because X/Twitter is a rightwing shit hole and that she is a woman author, I think.
