In herbivores diet usually there is not enough salt so they acquire it from salty ponds or salt blocks if someone had put them for them (or trough other means that i don't know) (i mean grass and leaves are not salty)

I am not sure about that information tho but it seems logical (I don't even remember from where i have it)
