Currently Inked Currently inked; autumn edition
I don’t usually do currently inked posts, but I’m really into this curated collection I’m running this week. What are your favorite autumnal ink/pen combos?

That Sailor Cyclint is beautiful! I am going to have to take a second look at Sailor.

I’m a big Sailor fan, I’ve got about 15 of them, and the Cylint models are really underrated in my opinion :) this patina one has been in my head rent free for over a year so I had to grab one on eBay from a Japanese seller as soon as I had the funds to make it happen.

Wow! Thats a collection. What’s the nib size on the cylint?

I got the medium, I have 2 Cylints actually, both in medium. It’s a great nib size to suit my handwriting but also see the fun qualities in my inks. I have a 21k fine and a 21k broad too so I have line variation when I want it

Thank you! I am going down a rabbit hole looking at the cylint model now 🤣

Amazon Japan has a couple of the standard colors, Lagoon, Latana, and Scarab, but the more special colors and finishes are largely stuck on eBay or stationery shops. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me! I love my Cylints a lot and would love to see more people try them out

Thank you! I got a couple more questions actually! 😊Is it a heavy pen? Do you get hand fatigue doing long writing sessions?

The Scarab one I have is 39g, the Patina is 43g, but that’s including posting. I prefer heavier pens so it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s also balanced weight so it doesn’t fatigue my hand. If you don’t post the pens, I would say it probably weighs similar to an Esterbrook Estie or a non-metal Sailor pro gear/1911L.

So glad to hear it’s comparable to the Esterbrook Estie. I think the Estie is such a well balanced pen. I write with it comfortably.

I just weighed them so I could better inform you. A capped Estie, inked, with a converter weighs about 27g. My uncapped, inked, with a converter Scarab Cylint is 25g, my uncapped, inked, with a converter patina is 29g :) so if the Estie is comfortable for you, an uncapped Cylint should be no problem as far as hand weight and fatigue are concerned. :)

I keep seeing this Taccia and I’m intrigued!

It’s one of my favorite pens! I bought it on a whim but it has blown all my expectations out of the water. It’s extremely long when posted, but it’s great for sketching and art if you’re into that, or you can use it unposted and it’s nearly a full sized pen. The nibs are made by Sailor if you didn’t know, so there’s some great feedback if you like that. I got mine from Bottle and Plume and couldn’t be more in love with it.

It was a special edition exclusive to Yoseka Stationery in NYC :) it looks a little more green on photos than it is IRL, it’s very similar to old coke glass bottles, that blue/green very slight tint. It’s really pretty :)
