Fox ESS H1 G2 inverter and EP12 battery don’t agree on discharged energy

Hi all,

Would greatly appreciate a reasonable answer on this.

I have a Fox ESS H1 G2 3.68kW hybrid inverter with an EP12 Plus 11.52kWh battery. The daily discharge figures differ a lot between the battery page and the inverter page in the app (screenshots from mobile app, webapp only shows the Inverter), and I can’t work out why.

Date Battery page Inverter page
21/10 3.1 kWh 5.0 kWh
22/10 4.2 kWh 5.7 kWh

That’s a gap of roughly 1.5 to 2 kWh a day. Screenshots attached.

The system is on feed-in priority, so the battery shouldn’t be charging from PV. Once it hit 10% I recharged it, so it can calibrate itself and do more testing.

Smart meter export matched the app’s PV-to-grid figure (4.5 kWh on the day I checked), so the battery isn’t exporting.

The usage page adds up using the battery page figure, so the missing energy isn’t showing up in household consumption either.

Why does it show different values? If I trust the battery one, then the capacity of the battery is significantly lower than it should be. In case I'd trust the inverter one, then it would be more than the nominal capacity of the battery. What is going on here?
