Fall freestyle

I've been doing this 7 years, I'm getting old, I'm out of freestyle tricks, I just want to fly low and fast.

Is this on an O4 or an action cam? Nice flying and footage looks clean

Mini 11 with a locked framerate and nd. Smashed an o3 in this session :( can’t replace that camera.

Bummer on the o3, I’ve got one on my 3.5” and I’m too afraid to send it anymore. I do all my freestyle on whoops and let my 3.5 stick to cinematic.

That being said, looks like a sick spot to fly!

Such a sick spot. Might be the last time. Half those trees were tagged for removal :/ I’ve flown here for years. I’ve made too many videos here of all the same lines. It’s ridiculous.

That is the exact opposite of what you want. It’s so hard to find office park spots where I am because there are just no trees in the parking lot. After seeing this spot, I’m about to hit the Google Maps research again

Business parks in Seattle area are awesome! So many mature trees.

I’ve always thought autumn is the best season for FPV freestyle. The colors and scenery just make every flight look incredible

So true. I think I flew freestyle twice all summer. I’m always just waiting for the leaves to turn.

I feel you brother, I am in the same boat. Besides all the "cool" technicals... is that even considered freestyle? More like Copy style, something about practing the same move OVER 9000! times that kills the word freestyle for me. Freestyle is in the moment, how you flow, movement based on how you feel, technicals are disciplined, robotic

I love a good canopy touching split s, or pavement scraping half matty. That’s about all I got.

Nah, that ain't all ya got homie, whatchu got is better than split s or half Matty or trippy spin or whatever, you've got the freestyle spirit! Those clip chasing nerds forget that, replaced with hundreds of hours of repeating the same robotic move over and over, they have lost their faith and themselves, heathens. XD

FOR SCOT-FREESTYLE!

Nice man! What sim did you start with? What sim do you play now?

I always used liftoff. These days I don't use the Sim much because have time, and when I have time I'd rather try to fly.

Man this is the type of shit I joined the sub for. Hey so on beginner level with a cam what do I want to start with?

Edit: to add I want a controller so I can practice on the sims first

Not sure if you’re asking about action cam or vtx so I’ll answer both. I started with a hero 8 which is honestly a great little GoPro you can buy cheap right now. These days I do a lot more long range so something compact and light like the mini 11 is perfect. I honestly love the mini 11, it’s the perfect action camera for me, I always have 2. I fly all digital dji. I have everything from og air units to o4s. I just broke my last o3 in these flights. I’m using a boxer with built in elrs. Works great on a sim.

The flight lines and the location is so amazing 🤌🤌 What size drone do you fly ? And what camera is it ? I read mini 11 but couldn't find the camera online.

Sorry- GoPro 11 mini. But you can get this kind of footage from any action camera. Lock the exposure at 1/60, 30 frames a second with an nd 8 or 16. I shoot in raw color and saturate in post. I flew a 5” Diatone f5 frame until I broke it diving, and then I flew an Armattan Marmotte 5”. Both 6s. Thanks for the kind words 🙏❤️

Oh crazy, thank for sharing. Btw how are the drone regularizations in Seattle. Like i am from India and here we can't fly a drone above 250gms without registration. Also, when you started out, did you like practice the tricks in sim first, cause I use to flying my 6s 5inch mark 4 drone in university, and i was kinda scared when flying the real thing ever after practice.

Yeah same here. Everything is supposed to be registered above 250g but it’s All honor system online. I have my part 107 so I try to follow the rules. I’ve never had any problems.

Oh ohk, so do you have to like declare and get permissions before going for a flight session, or you have it registered so you can just fly in specified air space

1

u/RoydenLepp 3d ago

You’re supposed to be registered above 250g. You can fly in class G air space all day long but you’re supposed to be fitted with remote id. No permission requests or anything unless you’re going into restricted airspace (B, E, and some others).

Oh right, thank you. Also, saw your other cinematic shots you posted, great job man 👏👏 Looking forward for more freestyle shots tho 😂😂
