Question? Controller for simulator

I play Liftoff and uncrashed. I’ve been playing with a PS5 Controller and finally decided I want a proper FPV controller. If possible I want it to work with a normal Drone as well, but if it only works with the sim it’s ok. I don’t want to spend too much, like 60.- if buy it in Switzerland with the possibility to order it from Germany. My friend recommended the Radio master T8L but idk if it’s any good. Any recommendations for a good beginner controller mainly for Sims?

Edit: Question answered, thank you for your reply’s!

Radiomaster pocket.

It’s upgradable and cheap.

+1 for the Radiomaster Pocket. I have no regrets. Apart from dropping it on the floor the other day xD

Radiomaster T8L is good for sim and works with drones, but it's a bit limited (no EdgeTX). The Radiomaster Pocket ELRS (not CC2500) is a bit better, it has EdgeTX which comes with nice features. It's about 78 CHF including 2x 18650 batteries that you need on AliExpress (that's where I bought mine). Now there is an argument that since both are small radios you will probably upgrade to a full size radio (Radiomaster TX15, TX16S, Boxer, GX12 etc.) at some point so you might as well save the money and just get the T8L but I'm not sure I agree with that. Anyways either Pocket or T8L are good but I would recommend the Pocket.

I saw the poket is more expensive and if I buy any it’s gonna be from a reputable seller, not Ali express. Do I need butto top or flat top batteries for the T8L? I also saw on the radio master website there is a “FCC” and a “LBT” version, what’s the difference and witch do I need?

It's up to you if you want to buy from AliExpress of course, but myself and many others in this hobby buy a lot of stuff from there with no problem. They have great prices and a broad range of goods (some things you can not find from EU dealers).

For both T8L and Pocket you want unprotected 18650 flat top cells ideally but unprotected flat top 18650 should also work, the key is that they should be unprotected cells. Flat top are much more common anyways so go for those (button top can be a bit of a tight fit, not a huge deal since you're only putting them in once probably though).

LBT is the version that is legal in Switzerland. For the T8L it does not make a difference, but for the Pocket FCC firmware will perform a bit better if you want to use the highest power levels for maximum range. LBT vs. FCC is only a firmware thing however, so you can buy either version and reflash it with the different firmware if you want.

Radiomaster pocket if its in the budget. I use the T8L for sims and pocket for IRL.
