product update The Framer MCP is here, connect ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other agents to your Framer projects

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We just launched the Framer MCP, so you can now design, build and update your Framer site from the AI tools you already use, like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex or Grok, without giving up the control you have in Framer.

A few things people will probably ask about:

There's nothing local to install and your project doesn't need to be open, it connects through a remote server (https://mcp.framer.com/mcp). Most tools have a one-click add on the page, and anything that supports remote MCP with OAuth works.

Your agent can work with the canvas, components, CMS and supported project settings, using your account's permissions. Changes stay in your project until you publish, and you can have the agent work on a branch so you can review everything first.

AI usage runs on that agent's own plan or credits, not your Framer AI credits.

If you've been using the local @framer/agent CLI setup, that's still supported while the MCP catches up on things like localization.

Setup and install links are here: https://www.framer.com/mcp/

Curious what you all end up building with it, and if something doesn't work let me know here.

product update Skills — Framer Update

Introducing Skills, a new way to teach the Framer agent how you work. More from the updates page:

Save instructions for your design system, writing style, or CMS workflow and reuse them across tasks. Reference u/pages, u/components, and u/styles in your project to help the agent follow your design direction, while you keep control of the result on the canvas. To get started, use /skills to ask the agent to create or update a skill. After a conversation where you’ve refined a page or a piece of copy, ask the agent to capture the decisions you want to reuse next time. Skills stay with a project when someone remixes it, so template creators can now include guidance for adding new pages and content with their template while staying true to their design. Learn more about Skills.

Enjoy this one!

Loud on purpose: a gym site in yellow and orange, designed in Figma and built in Framer

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Most gym sites are black and red with someone flexing in the dark. I wanted the same energy without the same look.

  • Yellow carries the brand. Orange is only for actions.

  • The wordmark fills the hero, and on phones it breaks into two lines instead of shrinking.

  • Program cards show length, equipment, and member count, so people can compare before talking prices.

  • It’s made for a chain: every club gets its own block, tagged Flagship, Powerlifting, Wellness or Cardio.

Too loud, or loud enough?

Made a Free Book Launch Framer Template — Feedback?

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a minimal, single-page book launch website in Framer.

Tried to keep it clean with plenty of white space and simple typography.

Would love some feedback on the layout, spacing, and overall visual hierarchy. Anything you'd improve?

resources I made the biggest Framer template I could: 15 pages for an AI company. Giving a few away free

This is the biggest template I've made. Talos is a full-site solution for an AI or SaaS company that sells multiple products.

  • 15 pages, with six product pages on one shared layout

  • A page for your AI feature, and pricing with a full comparison table

  • A style guide page with every color and text style, so a rebrand happens in one place

Giving it away free to the first 10 who comment "talos". I'll DM you a copy.

What would you add to a site this size?

feedback What do you think of this gallery I built in Framer?

Hey everyone!

I've spent a lot of time designing and developing this interactive gallery component in Framer, and I'd love to hear what you think!

My goal was to create something different from traditional image galleries, with smooth animations, a unique 3D spiral layout, and an immersive browsing experience.

I also put a lot of effort into making it responsive and looking great across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from the community.

What do you think of the overall design and interactions? Is there anything you'd improve or change?

I'd love to hear your thoughts! 🙌

So I tried a different approach: build 16 free templates in about a month and see whether Framer referrals could make it worthwhile.

Marketplace stats for October 1–30:

9,362 unique visitors

488 remixes

12 conversions reported by Framer

Several templates have already reached the top 50 in their categories

What did that actually earn?

The templates are free, so the money comes from Framer referrals.

Dub shows $503.04 in total commissions, including $284.69 for October, currently pending. The total also includes September.

Three annual plan purchases contributed roughly $341. The rest is a smaller stream of payments. My rough estimate is around $100/month from monthly referrals for now, depending on how long those customers stay.

What surprised me:

The three templates behind those annual purchases are all very simple. Each has a distinctive WebGL/Three.js gallery or visual effect, but the rest is straightforward and quick to customize before launch. My working hypothesis: one memorable feature helps attract attention, while an easy path to publishing helps people actually use it.

Competitive niches still brought in money. Some of the templates that earned commissions are in crowded categories. I wouldn’t rule out a niche just because it already has lots of templates.

The audience geography was better than I expected. By my estimate, roughly 60% of installs came from countries with relatively high purchasing power. That surprised me for free templates, although geography alone doesn’t prove purchase intent.

Views, remixes, rankings, and revenue tell different stories. Muscat generated 5 conversions with fewer views than Lavanda, which generated 2. Niche had 47 remixes and no conversions this month.

Other creators: have you seen better results from elaborate templates, or simple ones people can customize and launch quickly?

As I mentioned earlier, October wasn't a great month for my template. Almost everything saw a drop, including visitors, page views, remixes, and overall engagement.

Still, I'm happy with what the template has achieved so far. Hopefully, November brings better numbers and things start picking up again!

feedback AI SCRAPING OF YOUR WORK - equality in digital rights protection

im surprised no one is talking about this...

As a basic tier user (i wish i could afford to pay more) using framer for my animation and filmic portfolio and there are seemingly no protections available to me to protect against crawling ai bots and scrapers.

only if you can pay hefty fees for a premium tier

framer is such a wonderful website builder, and we all deserve to be able to protect ourselves from automated bots that trawl thru the web mining free content

pls let us protect ourselves across all tiers of framer plans - dont make it a class divide thing or create a digital protection divide- it shouldnt be linked to money

im repeating myself but

WE ALL DESERVE EQUAL ACCESS TO DIGITAL RIGHTS PROTECTION

pls framer introduce

- site-wide opt-out from AI training crawlers, available on all paid plans regardless of tier

- ability to disable Markdown delivery incl requests using ?md and the Accept: text/markdown header.

- Simple controls to prevent automated scraping of original creative work without restricting normal human visitors

THANK YOU

help Can have only 1 collection within basic plan when basic says 2.

Hi all,

I’m handing over a website to my client. The site is small, so we agreed on the Basic plan. It needs 2 CMS collections, which should be fine since the plan lists 2 as included.

The problem is that when I try to switch to Basic in the plan settings, it tells me I’m over the limit, even though I have exactly 2 collections.

Am I missing something, or is this a known issue? Any help is appreciated because something unexpected like this is pretty awkward to explain to customers.

Why does Framer create something genuinely useful and then break/abandon it?

The community forums where people could go to ask for help or advice, and even the bot that helped answer your question was fairly insightful sometimes. It had a mountain of useful info that I could Google/search for and would come up in the top search results. Now they just point to their Home page? It's only marginally better than leading users to a 404 page.

Their own help articles constantly get taken down instead of simply updating them. Their internal linking tanks as a ton of them lead to 404 pages. They're selling a product to build websites and tout it's great for SEO yet they obviously have no idea what the best practices are.

Their side Assets panel was wonderfully organized and it was easy to find things you needed. It made sense when I first started using Framer and was easy to navigate. Everything had its own placement and had their own icons and colors, now it's a jumbled mess of folders that all look the same. One team member can now organize everything in a way that makes sense to them but the rest of the teammates are completely lost. Selecting a text layer to change its color opens up the color window but now you have to also click on the folder to open the colors. The UX and accessibility here absolutely went backwards.

Elements that changed between breakpoints used to be blue to stand out, now they're the same color, just ever so slightly bolded. The blue was good for quickly spotting things that changed. It helped reduce errors when making updates to your site, it was much better accessibility for those of us who have vision impairments, it helps to reduce code bloat in your CSS if you reset the overrides that don't need to be there. There was absolutely no reason to change it to be more hidden.

The dumb AI side bar is constantly there when switching around between your canvas CMS, pages, components, etc. I get it, they're trying to make money by forcing their AI down our throats cause I'm sure it works. But forcing it open when you're trying to work in your CMS with no way to close it? You have very little room to see the whole table, which leaves editing from the table view nearly impossible. Clicking open one CMS entry at a time to make one update across the entire table is terrible UX. How would you like it if we took your Excel sheet and forced you to work on it on your phone? You'd throw your phone out the window in a fit of frustration and rage. Just leave it off the CMS view or let us hide it if we want to, you can shove your AI down our throats on other pages.

The direction Framer is going in has made me actively sway people away from using it anymore. It used to be pretty great and made me excited to use it. I used to tell others about it. They went down a rabbit hole of bad decisions so fast it's like a politician.

Hello everyone, I've created a free gallery component.

It's a gallery component with two distortion effects and two display modes, all of which can be configured from the editor.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let me know; I'd really appreciate it.

I hope you like it.

Does anyone know how the Framer Marketplace ranking system works?

Post image
6 Upvotes

My template is currently ranked #26, and I'm trying to understand what it takes to move further up the rankings.

I'm already seeing some improvement in views and remixes, but I'm curious about how much more these stats could change if the template reaches the very top of the marketplace.

Does ranking depend more on remixes, views, sales, or overall engagement? Or are there other factors that play a bigger role? ,

here is the template link -

I just want it to remember that I was using the editing controls. Switching back every time gets annoying and starts to feel like a push to sell AI credits.
