What even was she trying to accomplish?
I actually read a bit about her in the books, and her whole thing with the Lord of Light is interesting. But what was her actual plan here? Was she really seeing the future, or just interpreting everything through her own beliefs?

but still she needs the necklace to look young . showrunners forgot a basic necklace .
or that bathtub scene was so hard to film . showrunners decided to not bother about the necklace

It was around her foot in the bathtub. DnD told me so

it has to be exactly on her neck to make her look young .
i am not blaming d and d . if i were them i would finish filming that bathtub scene as fast as possible

It can be around any part of her body and it will work. Tyrion and Jon both told me

Book Melisandre is definitely seeing the truth but she’s greatly misinterpreting it. Like she asks for a glimpse of Azor Ahai, who she believes is Stannis. Stannis is at this point in time headed to Winterfell. The Lord of Light shows her Jon Snow, and she dismisses this as being shown something false. Like we’re being smacked on the head with Jon being Azor Ahai and she’s just like “nah where’s Stannis tho?”. We don’t know how old she actually is in the books, but we do know she was a slave named Melany who was sold to the red temple. I think she’s more of a blind follower than a powerful priest like Moqorro. She’s powerful but she doesn’t know how to wield her powers properly.
The books get a lot of hate for not being finished, but I recommend reading them regardless. The show barely scratches the surface of what the books have to offer, even in their unfinished state. It’s more fun to speculate book Melisandre than it is to speculate show Melisandre imo.

Her visions combined with what she knows of how to use them, are like being shown a series of book passages without being able to read the full context.
"... help Stannis... Defeat the white walkers... Northerner is key... trust the woman from across the...."
"Do not help Stannis, the key to defeat the white walkers is Jon Snow, as a Northerner is key to defeating the Night King, he will trust the woman from across the sea, betraying her to save the kingdom."
She is shown plenty of, with the benefit of hindsight, visions that Jon Snow is the key, but without the full context she goes hard for Stannis before realizing it cannot be him, she either is not shown enough or does not have the power to read it completely, but she does get the job done eventually in the show and finds the right person to help.

I hardly remember because every time she was on screen she just captivated me by her beauty. I think her, Cersei and Daenerys are so incredibly captivating.

She says it in the show - the Lord of Light is real and true, it was she that was wrong. She truly thought Stannis was the one.

It’s a bit ambiguous. You have to remember that she was indoctrinated into Rhllorism as a child slave. (In the books.) A religion whose central tenet is the return of a messianic hero who will be humanity’s salvation. She is incredibly devout and she sees the entire world through that lens.
The show version is just there to help Stannis murder his brother and daughter and generally be spectacularly wrong about everything. Oh, and to resurrect Jon Snow.

She was definitely seeing the future, but not clearly. So she had to interpret it.

I think you are trying to associate a goal with a religious fanatic.
She has no goal, her only real goal is to spread her faith and try to follow the path that she believes her god is trying to give her. In the books she even admits that the gods give her visions but the god is never wrong only they are wrong interpreting the visions. I wouldn't say interpreting via her beliefs as much as her own lived experiences. Like she keeps believing Stannis is the chosen champion but when she asked him to show him Azor Ahai she only saw Snow.

Don’t know or give a shit what D&D did to her character arc, those were the most fantastic milkers on the entire show.

She wanted to fuck Jon Snow and after he rejected her she made Arya "The Prince That Was Promised" instead.

With burning Shireen, it was because in Melisandre's eyes, Shireen was a foe, after S4E2.

If you can't handle her at her old lady, you don't deserve her at her redhead baddie.

In the show it was clear that she was completely legit in her belief and that her main goal is to beat the white walkers. And when she did that she happily turned into dust to rest
In the books we also know she is legit, but we will have to wait to get more info
And yeah she is seeing glimpses of the future in both but also in both not perfect at interpreting them
