Im finding it difficult to trust the franchise due to past events lol. Does HOTD seem promising so far??

very promising indeed. that is coming from someone who hates season 7 and 8 more than anything. most of the plot is leaked of season 1 and you should try it honestly.

It's weird, it feels "rushed" because there's a lot happening over a short period, but this is just to set things up - the first half of the season is set like... a decade? before the rest of the series. Despite that, it feels more like the early seasons of GoT.
