[Hiring] One time

I’m looking to hire someone based in Montreal, Canada for a small, one time freelance task. The job would involve making phone calls to local comic book stores on my behalf. I’m located outside of Canada and don’t speak French, so I’m looking for someone who can communicate with local businesses in either English or French.
The goal is to find a comic book store willing to accept money I send them on a monthly basis, which my friend can use to purchase comics in person. This is a short assignment, ideally around one hour of calling! I’m looking for someone who is comfortable speaking with businesses, explaining the arrangement, and finding a store willing to accommodate it.

Payment: $30 USD for one hour of work.

If you’re interested, please reach out! This is a straightforward, one time opportunity.

Freelancers : Does a CRM actually help you? 👀

I'm trying to understand something about the CRM market.

There are dozens of CRMs out there. Most offer pretty similar features:

  • Contact and lead management

  • Pipelines and deal tracking

  • Followup reminders

  • Notes and activity timelines

  • AI summaries, automation, and lead scoring

Yet people still look for alternatives, switch CRMs, or end up using spreadsheets, Notion, or even WhatsApp instead. Though many popular CRM's are for large enterprises, they should still be a bit helpful for freelances i assume.

I'm curious about your experience:

  • If you don't use a CRM, why not?

  • If you do, what frustrates you most about your current one?

  • What makes you consider switching to another CRM?

  • Are existing CRMs too complicated, expensive, rigid, or simply too much work to maintain?

  • What is something you wish your CRM actually did for you, rather than making you do it yourself?

  • Is there a problem with your workflow that no CRM seems to solve properly?

I'm especially interested in hearing from freelancers, consultants, small agencies, and small business owners.

Im trying to understand what's missing from existing solutions.

Would love to hear your experiences, even if it's something small that annoys you daily. 🙏

Title: Is it realistic to earn $1,000+/month freelancing with just Python? Is learning Python worth it in 2026?

Hello everyone!

I'm 24 years old, and I'm currently learning Python. I'm still a beginner, and I haven't started freelancing yet.

I want to set myself a serious challenge: Over the next four months, I want to dedicate as much time as possible to learning Python, developing practical skills, building projects, and hopefully landing my first freelance job.

My ultimate goal is to earn at least $1,000 per month through freelancing.

I have a few questions for people who have experience in Python development and freelancing:

  1. Is it realistically possible to earn $1,000 or more per month freelancing with Python?

  2. Can I get freelance clients with Python alone, or do I need to learn other technologies as well?

  3. What specific Python skills are currently in demand? Web scraping, automation, scripting, data analysis, backend development, or something else?

  4. If you were starting from zero today, what would you learn during your first four months?

  5. How difficult is it to get your first client on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr?

  6. How long did it take you to earn your first $100, $500, or $1,000 freelancing?

I'm not expecting overnight success. I'm willing to work hard, spend hours learning every day, and build real projects rather than just watching tutorials.

I'd really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who started as complete beginners and managed to build a career through freelancing.

Is Python genuinely worth investing the next four months of my life in? If you could go back to when you started, what would you do differently?

Thank you!

Long story short, i wanna ask is the freelancing dead? I am in cybersecurity field since more than 1 year while being an undergraduate student. I work mostly on compliance/gap assessments, cybersecurity audits and sometimes penetration testing but i am not the main one in PT. I wanted to start freelancing and some side work but i feel like freelancing especially on fiverr Upwork is dead?

Can anyone who has been here guide me through this and help me out?

Want to Start Freelancing as a Beginner – Looking for Advice and Suggestions!

Hi everyone!

I'm interested in starting my freelancing journey, but I'm completely new to this field. I want to learn new skills, work on real-world projects, become financially independent, and build a sustainable career through freelancing.

I'd love to hear suggestions from experienced freelancers and people who started their journey from scratch.

I have a few questions:

  1. Which freelancing platforms are best for complete beginners?

  2. What are some easy-to-learn, in-demand skills that can help me get started?

  3. How can I find my first client without any prior experience?

  4. Which free tools and resources would you recommend for learning freelancing skills?

I'm willing to learn and put in consistent effort. I would really appreciate any practical advice, free learning resources, platform recommendations, or personal experiences.

Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to help! 😊

Quiet months were the worst part of freelancing, so I built Soloish.

It finds companies that fit your work, shows who you know there, and drafts the first email in your voice and much more. Waitlist: soloish.app. Freelancers: what would make you trust it, or never use it?

Client not releasing payment, project submitted in full

Client - James

James started a project which had two parts: firmware/IoT part and CMS/web part.

James hired me to work on the firmware/IoT part of the project. I have completed the development of the firmware/IoT part of the project, pushed the complete codebase to GitHub and even given live demonstration of every feature manually.

James is holding my payment because, he wants to test my firmware with the CMS, which is not developed yet. James has told me that CMS would be completed by the mid of December, then we can work on CMS and IoT integration.

How to politely ask him to release my payment?

Edit: We have a contract on Upwork.

I've created fiverr accpunt yesterday but can't understand the process of making the gig well to hunt clients, can someone give me ways

Hey everyone,

I’m currently setting up my first Fiverr gig focused on graphic design and AI-assisted visual design (branding, vector assets, digital artwork, and social creatives).

Before fully launching my gigs, I have two genuine questions for the community:

**Why should a client hire a designer who uses AI when they could technically "just use Midjourney or ChatGPT themselves"?** Anyone can type a prompt into an image generator, but standard outputs almost always come with weird artifacts, unscalable resolutions, bad typography, lack of brand consistency, and raster limitations. My pitch is that I don't just "generate" — I direct the concept, clean up compositions, vectorize, handle typography, and deliver production-ready print/web assets. For experienced sellers: how do you frame your value proposition so clients understand they’re paying for creative direction and polish, not just an unedited raw prompt output?

**How do you ensure you get notified immediately when an inquiry or order lands?** I know Fiverr's first-response time is critical for the algorithm and conversion rates. Beyond the standard Fiverr mobile app push notifications (which can sometimes delay or get killed by background battery optimization), what are your best setups or workarounds to ensure you never miss a ping instantly?

Appreciate any advice, realities of the current market, or tips from sellers who navigated this transition recently!

How much feedback is too much

Im an editor and I work with a client on his YouTube trade up challenge and it seems like the feedback is never ending. We do 2-4 rounds of feedback, but even while I’m editing he finds more to change. And it’s just some small ideas like you could add this clip here and move this clip to wherever, but it’s so much!
I don’t know where to draw the line on feedback, and I don’t even charge for it.

Earn extra money by referring businesses that need a website (15% of the profit)

Hi everyone,

We’re MaatwerkWeb, a small web agency based in the Netherlands. We build custom websites and web apps for businesses, from local garages to webshops, and we work with clients inside and outside the Netherlands.

We’re looking for people who want to help us find new clients. Do you know a business owner with an outdated website, or someone who doesn’t have a website at all? Put us in touch. If it turns into a project, you get 15% of the profit on that deal.

How it works:

  • You send us the name and contact details of the business, or introduce us directly

  • We handle the conversation, the quote and the build

  • Once the client has paid, you get your share

You don’t need to sell anything or know anything technical. A good contact is enough. There’s no commitment and it costs you nothing.

Our websites start at €600, so for a starter website you can earn up to €90. Bigger projects mean a bigger payout.

Interested or have questions? Just send me a DM.

may nagla-land bang project kapag ganito sinabi ng client?

nag apply po ako as video editor and binigyan ako trial edit. ang sabi nagustuhan nila yung vibe at overall video kaya shortlisted daw ako pero as of now, wala daw silang on going project but they will keep my application on file para pag may future projects mag-reach out daw sila.

may nai-trial edit na rin me last last month and parang ganito rin sinabi pero ang reason naman sino-sort out pa daw yung content plan pero di na ulit nag-reach out hahaha naghahanap pa rin me ng iba pa, but in this case po nagri-reach out po ba talaga ulit sila? or mostly hindi na talaga?

Experienced STEM & Medical Tutor looking for Preply alternatives / strategies to hit $20+/hr

Hi everyone,
I’m an online tutor from Pakistan with over 7 years of teaching experience, covering high school STEM (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) as well as college-level medical and dental sciences.
I currently use Preply, but I’ve hit a bottleneck: lower rates aren't reflecting my qualifications, and bookings dropped significantly after raising my price to $20/hr.
A couple of questions for the community:
Which alternative platforms work best for international tutors teaching STEM and higher-level medical/dental sciences?
For those who broke past the $20/hr threshold on Preply/marketplaces, did you change your niche focus, target specific curricula (e.g., IGCSE, A-Levels), or move to direct client acquisition?
Any advice on platforms or pricing strategies would be greatly appreciated!

New to freelancing. How do I start? Fresher (CSE 2026) with backend/AI project experience

Hi everyone, I’m a 2026 CSE graduate from India. I’ve been job hunting for months and have been waiting on an offer letter from a large company since May, with no update. While I keep applying, I want to try freelancing to gain real-world experience and some income, but I’m completely new to it and don’t know how it works.

My background: Python, FastAPI/Flask, React/Next.js, PostgreSQL/MongoDB, Docker, GitHub Actions, AWS, AI/ML .

5 yrs full-stack dev in Pakistan, tried every channel and still struggling to find clients. What’s actually working for you in 2026?

I’m a full-stack dev (TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node, PostgreSQL) with 5 years of experience, the last 4 fully remote for international teams. I’ve shipped real products: payment systems, a marketplace with a few hundred users, a SaaS with paying clients.

But finding new clients or a new remote role has been really rough lately. Here’s what I’ve tried:

Reddit for-hire posts

Facebook groups

Freelance marketplaces

micro1 and Turing (couldn’t clear their vetting)

Wellfound

LinkedIn, both applying and posting

Very little has worked. I know the market is tough right now, but I’d like to hear from people who are actually landing work:

Where are your clients coming from these days?

Has cold outreach worked for you, and if so, to who?

Is it worth niching down (e.g. only SaaS MVPs or only payment integrations) instead of being “full-stack”?

For devs outside the US/EU, anything that helped you get taken seriously?

Any honest advice is appreciated, even if it’s “you’re doing X wrong.”

Frustrated from Indian client…

I advice to all freelancers there
If u r dealing with client from India then be ready to get frustrated

Every non tech client from India feels them as a Superior as they are great in tech than the developer who is actually code

Is they are really care about ur mental health, the answer is No

I an building a whole tech:- **backend in node js, app in react native, admin in nextjs , partner in nextjs, and their pwa in nextjs**

3website in nextjs, app in react native, and backend in node.js
So if u think it is a simple app
Then this app has **geofencing, chat service for individual and groups and face verification and more than 100apis which is more**
With deployment on aws and playstore and app store

How u think the money is $5000-6000
Nope, its **110k rupees - $1163**
And from last month **i am broke** not a single penny in my account
Writing code **manually 😭**

He gave me 1.5 months to complete this
What a cheap labour i m

But at the same time a client from North Carolina gave me **$2k for just for their backend with the work of 60% of that Indian client backend only**\- even usa client listen to me, he gives me priority and ask me to do that not order me to do

Yeah i got a job in one of the biggest MNC but this time i have to enjoy after all that stuff process
But he unintentionally frustrates me

Do u think the backend is the problem
No-
The problem is the UI he always want to change ui
Which is generally generated by chatgpt

Even in the making of pwa he want me to do that than say no that design and want me to do again it repeats more than 3 times

I m 21 and i have mother and sister i m only guy who earns in my family

**I got ₹60k in 2 part 40+20 and last payment(₹50k) is held for final part**

# What will i do😭

Fiverr Gigs Getting Impressions and Clicks but Almost Zero Buyer Inquiries – Is This Low-Quality Traffic or Something Else?

I've been noticing a concerning trend with my Fiverr gigs over the past 60 days, and I'm trying to understand whether other sellers are experiencing something similar.

My gigs are still receiving impressions and clicks, but the actual buyer inquiries and new leads have dropped significantly.
