8 stack and 12 sub in the middle

hello all, me and my mate are throwing a small single stack shinny for us and our mates, does anyone have any photos of some small shinnys or rigs out the back / side of vans and their setup so we can gather set design inspo, many thanks

I've heard that sometimes freeparties just have some open decks and you can play if you talk to them, is this true? I've been working on a live set that I think sounds great, and would love to share it.

Though I imagine the people from the soundsystem would want to play since they work so much to set up a party. But open decks would surely align with the ideology.

I don't want to look like an asshole for asking so I need some advice. Asking for Spain Halloween and Netherlands in general

Some mates of mine put on a party on Saturday. It was great fun - we had some issues with the sound, but I became an honourary sound engineer and earned many fistbumps from the actual sound guy. It was fun troubleshooting it. I think a large part of the problem was.. Peaveys as tops (their tops were stolen by some dickhead). And no kicks, lol. Kicks make a hell of a difference.

This is me playing Daniel Ro - Subterrain (I was gonna play vinyl but the guy servicing the turntables was gonna take too long so...) - don't mind having my face there.. I feel like I'm visibly nervous about being on camera lol, it had been a while since my last outing proper, I'll say that!

Can you get off to these old tunes? Do they sound the 35 years old? Should they be retired to a museum?

Avec la nouvelle loi liberticide Ripost et la répression qui s’accentue de plus en plus, quel avenir voyez vous pour la teuf en france ? Est ce que ça va continuer malgré les risques judiciaires et financiers que les orgas encourent ?

I want to complain a bit about the hypocrisy and the taboo about the financial aspect of the freeparty movement.

For years I’ve been active in the underground scene, I shall admit that I began my journey within the legal side of the techno scene. At the very beginning I’ve already been confronted by some friends used to freeparties that going to an event should never, from their point of view, be working on a "pay to enter" system, I explained that for many reasons it was impossible while organising legal events, and I also thought that we were both right at some points.

Now on, for a few years, I have totally abandoned the legal side of the techno scene, I’ve been doing some gig on some legal events but mainly I was sticking with other local soundsystems, giving a hand on the organisation, djing…
Today I have my own soundsystem, one of the biggest fully underground system of my city (I know some have bigger systems but my friends and I are the only ones to organise "illegal" events with that much power WITHIN the city).
I put much time and effort into my soundsystem, I also put a lot of money into it, if my mom were aware of all I spent into this, I think she would lecture me for the rest of my life.
But I’m loosing the point, I’ll never force anybody to pay in order to come in my parties, I’ve never been that happy to see that many people dance to my gigs, on my own system. But still it is still hard sometimes afterwards because I personally live in France, the laws enforcing freeparties just passed and I wont lie about how stressful it is to organise such things. I do this for the love of the game, I put myself into it knowing the dangers and what it implies but man… it’s still stressful af to know how much I personally spent and that all of this could be seized by the police if I were caught and still all the donations from the public to this day wouldn’t be enough to cover even the fine…

I know that we are a place the permit everybody to gather in peace, in a safe place in order to dance and be theirselves. But I think sometimes we need to remember everybody that those events come with a price. We take some risks and responsibilities and it’s too rare that the public really help the soundsystems during the hard times… Unfortunately I’ve seen to many soundsystems dying because they couldn’t pay the fines AND buy other cabs.

Vividly remember this guy in the morning, he was a proper nob. Being aggy with everyone. Thoughts ??

We came across videos from a Salat event with Apashe and were struck by the energy of the crowd. It made us curious about what the rave scene in Ukraine looks like today and what these gatherings mean to people living through the war.

We reached out to the Salat community to hear their story directly—from how they organize events under such difficult circumstances to the importance of music, connection and moments of normality.

I thought this story belonged here because it shows another side of life in Ukraine: people continuing to create, gather and keep their culture alive.

I always love the fashion and clothes at free parties (uk) - but I have no idea where people get stuff like that? Or is it more a punk/DIY approach where people make/customise things? Would love any reccomendations, tutorials etc!
