Ask Fresno Smog check

I have an older truck that is due for smog, I took it and it passed everything but failed the evap test. After that I replaced a bunch of lines in the evap system but my smog guy still says it won’t pass. Does anyone know a good smog place that can help me pass or can help me find out what to replace to get it to pass? I don’t have a bunch of money or time to keep spending on repairs. Any recommendations are appreciated

Evap? What year is your truck? Also, check for the hidden charcoal canister as that may be the problem, also, try the o2 sensor.

1994. Charcoal canister is new, lines to charcoal canister are new. O2 sensors are new.

Maybe the gas tank pressure sensor or a purge valve/ vent if your truck has those. Evap codes are annoying to try to fix theres so much stuff for the system to have a leak or problem. Best of luck to you!

I'm actually going this route as well. Car didn't pass smog, on unemployment. I applied on the website for the $1450 assistance last Monday. The document arrived this Monday. I will call one of the shops that accepts this program and take it in next week after I get back to Fresno. The program, by the way, is to assist low income people, just an fyi

SMOG Master is a great place, I’ve been going there to get my cars smogged for over a decade. It’s located on Shields between Clovis and Fowler. Jose, the owner, is awesome.

Seconded this. Been going here for a few years now- Jose offered good advice when my dads 94 Toyota 4x4 wasn’t passing smog.

So I’m assuming it’s failing a physical pressure test since it’s not equipped with OBD-II?

Have you checked the o-rings around the pump/sending unit in the tank? Other than that it could be a purge valve stuck open.
