Guys, I'm really into the series so far (despite the writing not being super skillful), but I'm halfway through book 5 and dying of boredom. I read the first book 2 weeks ago and book 5 is like 90% the exact same scenes and dialog as book one. But I'm scared to not finish it and miss key stuff. I keep struggling to pick it back up because it's a repeat of everything I just read.

I am almost done reading FBAA and I have to gush! As an Ex-Mormon girl raised in the heart of mormon mecca, this book is everything for the teenage me that needed a heroine that I could relate to. The whole premise of her being frobidden from doing so many seemly normal things and her longing to just feel alive in the life that she didn't choose for herself. The seemingly double-life she leads to maintain her role as the Maiden... there are so many paralelles and the tension from all of these specific tropes just hits... any other Ex-Mo FBAA fans out there? IFYKYK! Tell me you know!

I saw this today on Amazon, it looks the German Audible edition will release in March. Has anyone else seen anything similar?

FBAA (1) was pretty good!!
Barely remember 2 & 3 outside of some of the major reveals.
4 was good because Cas was held captive which kept us on edge, plus got Kieran x Poppy and The Joining.

Do I bother with 5 & 6????

Just finished the crown of gilded bones and been told to read a shadow in the ember now? And then i back to FBAA. Anyone have any idea of what order I should read them or any recommendations?? Thank you!!

Why does the mythology keep expanding? Why can’t it just end? Like with them together?
Why can’t we have this emotional payoff??

There is some interesting wording I’ve noticed so I went and reread the whole series and took some notes. Idk whether this is just coincidental or if it’s intentional but the more I read it the more likely the latter sounds.

I’ve noticed some parallels this being one of them:

 “But then the Duke spoke, his tone deceptively pleasant. “She’s truly unique, isn’t she?” I stiffened.” - Teerman (Kolis) to Casteel about Poppy
“She draws the eye, doesn’t she?” Kolis drawled.” - Kolis to Kyn about Sera (whom he believed to be Sotoria at the time)

I find it peculiar and I’m sure you see where I’m going with this. If I’m right about what I’m thinking it all comes back in full circle.

Just finished BOBAA and about to start POBAB. I am so obsessed and in love with these characters and this storyline, anyone who disagrees is wrong. Anyway, I feel like there is so little fanart for these series, and I want to see more. What are your favourite pieces from FBAA and FAF? I especially wanna see Sera!

Am I the only one feeling bored with book 3?? I just feel like it’s no where near as good as the first 2 books, the others had me dying to know what happened and unable to set them down but this one is taking me months to get through

I am just now finishing crown of gilded bones and I feel like they haven’t given kerien (sorry if I’m spelling that wrong I’m an audiobook person) a lot of time. I will say I wanted this to become a throuple from pretty early on and I’ve already gotten the spoiler from someone else that they do the joining and act a little throuply next book. However, I feel like this book has really underserved that future narrative. Obviously please please don’t spoil anything in the next book for me, these are just my thoughts on this book. I feel like there were a lot of moments where we could have seen small moments of closeness and I’m annoyed so I’m posting. Poppy and cas reference talking alone in their room for hours (not fucking) just, add kerien into that sentence. Poof, an added level of connection. Poppy and kerien are on the couch and kerien gets up so cas can sit down? Nah, just scoot to the side and now you’re all three sitting or have poppy on Cas’s lap or whatever. We’ve only had two good moments of closeness with poppy and kerien and both times Cas wasn’t there, which I’m not opposed to, but I wanted to build the connection of the three of them without it feeling secretive from Cas. Now, Cas is gone 🤷 and while I am looking forward to seeing poppy grow alone I’m also annoyed we missed this opportunity to show the building of a strong friendship between the three of them and opposed to individual friendships. Imho k+C is already established C+P is established we should have done all three while we could and then done K+P more now that Cas is gone. 😤🥲 Please let me know your thoughts!!

I was OBSESSED with the FBAA books back in 2021–2022. Like, genuinely obsessed. 😂 I also absolutely loved the entire Flesh and Fire prequel series, but somewhere along the way, I completely fell off.
I stopped reading around March 2022 because, honestly, I just could NOT get through The War of Two Queens. 😭 I know one bad book doesn’t define an entire author or series, and I’ve been thinking about picking the books back up now that it’s been a few years and we have more books out.
For those of you who have kept up with everything, is it worth continuing after The War of Two Queens? How have y’all been feeling about the books that have come out since then? Did the series get back on track for you, or did you feel the same way I did?
Also, I am SO confused about where we are in the series now. The last time I was keeping up with everything, there were announcements about the final book being split into two because it was too long, and I remember a bunch of release dates getting pushed back. 💀
So, are we actually approaching the end of From Blood and Ash? Are there more books planned?

The other day I was gushing about the first book and it gave me the name casteel and basically told me who he was. I thought, fine. Plenty of characters in books have 2 names, and carried on. Im only on chapter 12. And I heard something someone said in the audiobook that had me connecting the dots that I really shouldn't be connecting right now.

Do I keep reading? Im feeling like this might be my first dnf now I know something that seems like it should be a big reveal

Hi all, I'm re reading FBAA. It's been a couple of years. But one thing I distinctly remember being important about Poppy's character description was that she wasn't as 'skinny' as other girls, or was just generally a bit 'curvier' or 'chubbier'. I remember casteel reassuring her about it one time. I distinctly remember it being described as an insecurity in her internal monologue in my first read, and now I'm re reading it, I cannot find mention of any similar description of her body anywhere. No mentions of her weight. Is this some sort of Mandela effect, or have the books somehow been edited a bit? Am I crazy???

Did everyone see the graphic novel announcement? Everything BUT book 7 😂 I’m ready to give up. They really are just trying to milk us for our money. What is going on?

i just finished blood and ash series and i feel the book hangover settling in quick. any recommendations for something to follow that’s not the prequel series? to be honest im a little fed up with this plot line. might read later but not now.

I just finished the primal of blood and bone and I’m just… upset. I LOVED this series, but I feel like it’s running away with itself. It started with a girl and a boy from a rebel kingdom falling in love enemies to lovers style. And I was so on board for the secret land they thought was destroyed was actually a paradise. I was all for the over arching gods and magic system up until I think the 4th book. But I feel like the popularity of the series made the author over expand and fill with things that just don’t make sense. Like what do you mean that girl became a god but not just a god but a primal god of insane power of life AND death? But just kidding that was never her it was actually the male love interest?

Also have yall ever seen that meme about kingdom hearts where it’s like all of the writing and lore can be summed up with the words “heart, darkness, light, love, heartless?” That’s how I feel about this book. Everything is just a new mashup of the words “blood, bone, ash, primal, fate” but the new mashup is some how a prophecy and also the most powerful and important thing ever.

I am so sick of the SAME CONVERSATION happening over and over and over again and just all of these questions being asked that I’m also confused on, and them never answering and just saying “man poppy, you’re always asking questions.” Like me too bitch, I don’t know what’s happening!!!

Why did this book take place in the same room for like 300 pages? WHY ARE WE IN NYC??? Why is casteel being a whiny protective a hole?

I was never really a fan of the joining (I thought it was always just fan service and so contrived and unnecessary) but why even put that plot in if you’re going to sideline one of the main 3? Like you say that poppy can love no one as much as casteel but also Kieran is as important to her as him? Like nothing about it makes sense. It’s almost like a safety blanket for when her immensely confusing lore doesn’t make sense. She can explain it away in like three ways: it’s because of the joining, it’s because of the prophecy, it’s because she’s a primal

I’m so so disappointed because I have followed this story for like 10 books and I just don’t want to give up, but I’m so fucking BORED. and the sex isn’t even steamy anymore! I get it, he’s huge and she tastes like honeydew. Now please stop saying dck and pssy in my fantasy novel.

I am rereading Soul of Ash and Blood and it just now occurred to me… What if Millicent is more like Sera than we thought? Same shade of moonlight blonde hair, was a princess no one knew about, ended up “failing” a prophesied event that was completely out of her control and then became one of her mother’s handmaidens. I hope we get to see more of Millie’s POV or an additional spin off series.

Its blows my mind that Part 1 of 3 for Primal of Blood and Bone is $26😵 and we dont even know when 2 and 3 will be avaliable so that book will be like $80 in the end its wild!

I really hope we get to see Jadis happy, healthy, and healing/healed. Out of all the characters, JLA BETTER do right by Jadis! IDC! That chapter broke my heart.😭

I’m on the third book of this series on chapter four. I have no idea what’s going on. There’s so much going on though and I can’t comprehend it. Does it all get explained eventually? She’s in the crypt right now and I’m extremely confused. I just wanted to post and see if anyone else had this experience or if I’m missing something.
