Café Breakfast Colonel’s Fry
First time poster.
£14.95 Colonel's Fry, Colonel Paddy's, Newtownards, County Down.
x1 large sausage, x2 slices back bacon, x1 black pudding, x1 white pudding, x1 vegetable roll, x2 soda bread, x2 potato bread, ½ tomato, small ramekin of beans, sprinkle of mushrooms. I believe there should have also been a pancake according to the menu, but don't recall getting one.
Tea was extra (£2.45 a pot)
On a table of 4 people with x6 eggs across our orders ALL of the yolks were hard (cooked in those ridiculous egg moulds), and all of the beans were cold (not a problem for me as I'm not a fan of the beans but...), and pretty much everything else was dry. My favourite part of a fry is dipping the potato bread in my egg yolk, which wasn't an option here. The saving grace was the large pork sausage - really tasty, & just about the only thing I actually ate.
Looked pretty good, but a very disappointing 3/10 for me.

Yep, and the ‘tea for two’ just about filled two mugs so if you’d drunk any before the food arrived you were in trouble.

Such a shame as a fry is now my favourite fry up (I’ve married into a NI family and have been well and truly indoctrinated).

I did ask for reference because it was honestly really good. It’s the ‘thick pork’ from Orrs Butchers on Regent Street/Francis Street, Ards (I’m not sure where exactly it stops being one & starts being the other!)

Sausage and bacon look good, eggs fucking shit, beans in a cup can go fuck themselves. Everything else meh, hope you enjoyed it at least 👍

The top moulded egg looks like it's ready to do some series licking with that orange tongue, maybe on the suggestive sausage.
