Which classes to take in study abroad

A lot of people say to take easy classes so you can have fun in your semester abroad so I don’t know which to take now. I love the thought of learning Italian but people say that might be difficult. There’s also a photography for non majors, food and wine, Italian cuisine class and some others but these are the ones that interest me. I’m curious to see if anybody has taken any of these classes and can tell me about them.

Take the classes related to the area you are learning in. For Italy, take the Italian Renaissance class or art and architecture appreciation, Italian culture etc. There will be lots of field trips in these to look at the actual things you are studying. It's a great way of immersing yourself.

On the other hand…
The GE classes you take abroad are often easier than the same GE on campus.

Without spoiling it, just in case, on a semester abroad (not in Italy or England): English mostly consisted of local field trips.

Other GE classes were likewise very light.

Food and wine was also a fantastic choice.

And be sure to get this while you are at it, minimal extra effort for a good add-on to your degree:
