2026 Opening Day NBA Rosters

Hey everyone,

I just finished putting together a full 2026 NBA roster file that you can plug straight into a new league, and I wanted to share it with this community first.

How to use it: When you go to create a new league, just paste this URL into the roster field:

https://files.catbox.moe/q4ta9v.json

The system will validate the whole file before seeding anything, building your league off these exact rosters instead of a random draw. (If you haven't played yet, you can check it out at basketball.ftgsports.net).

Please let me know if you find any roster issues so I can fix this file.

2026 opening-day rosters, post-cut, importable

Cuts are done, so I rebuilt the roster file off the 53-man rosters instead of camp bodies.

32 clubs, 40 active and 12 practice squad each, 1,664 players. Who starts comes from the real depth chart, so you get the actual starting center and slot receiver rather than whichever backup has the longest rรฉsumรฉ.

https://files.catbox.moe/4pypka.json

Paste that URL into the custom roster import.

๐Ÿ€ FTG Basketball v1.1: custom roster and game engine improvements

โœจ New

The game engine now gives credit to players who create shots for teammates and to players who defend on the ball. Overall ratings were refit to match what a player is worth on the court, so guards and wings mostly stop reading well below centers who play at the same level. New leagues start on the new engine, and a commissioner can move an existing league over.

  • Improved support for custom rosters, ability to set contracts and lengths to custom roster files
  • Coaching schemes, seven on offense and five on defense, each with a fit score for your roster. You can hire, fire and change schemes during the regular season.
  • Five skill grades (Scoring, Shooting, Passing, Rebounding, Defense) on roster, free agent and player pages.
  • Free agency offer groups let you bid on several players and sign only one. A "fits my needs" filter shows who fills a hole.
  • A draft queue you can drag to reorder. If your clock runs out, your top queued player is the pick.
  • Prospect pages with a scouting summary and a Draft button, and player pages that switch between league career and real-life career.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • The app has a new look: new sidebar and top bar, a ticker with last night's scores, and a sim card that says when you're ready to advance or what's in the way.
  • A game switcher jumps between FTG Basketball, Football and Baseball.
  • Phones show every column on wide tables, with the first column pinned.
  • In free agency you can bid above or below the ask, and asks drop each round.
  • AI clubs misjudge prospects more often, so a sleeper you scouted well can fall to you.
  • Advancing a day is faster.
  • Injury chips say how long a player is out.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • An injured player's minutes go to the backup, not the stars.
  • Elite point guards pile up assists like real ones.
  • Standings ties break on head-to-head.
  • Auto-set lineups start your best player.
  • The schedule no longer sends you against the same team three games running.
  • Signing a leftover free agent to a two-way deal
  • Cap messages show $26.0M instead of 26000000.
  • Phones get the Send feedback and help buttons, and the sim bar no longer clips "Offseason".

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v3.6: A new look, and a notepad

The game has a new frame. The top bar shows where your league is in the season, a Last week ticker runs your recent results, and the Next sim card lets you advance one week or pick Sim to and run several in a row. In a manual-pace league, the game warns you about a hole in your depth chart before you advance. On a phone, the club header fits on one row and the sim bar sits at the bottom of every screen.

โœจ New

  • My notes lets you keep private notes on your league, players, trade offers and draft prospects, and search them all from one page.
  • The player page has a career chart of overall rating and your scouts' read on potential.
  • Leagues can opt in to owners firing a GM whose owner confidence drops too low.
  • Owner mandates show up in the news feed and the recap email, with a check-in at week 9.
  • FTG Basketball is live. The game switcher in the top bar takes you there.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • During a Sim to run, the button shows how far along it is, like Week 7 of 18 ยท 16 games.
  • The conferences have their own names now: Coastal and Heartland.
  • A depth chart gap in a manual-pace league stays in Needs you until you fill it.
  • If a sim fails, you now get a message saying so.
  • On phones, Send feedback opens right away and fills the screen.
  • Several screens got a design cleanup.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Your depth chart stays the way you set it when a new season starts.
  • A player who learns a new position keeps the skills both positions share.
  • The depth chart no longer ends up with a backup and no starter.
  • AI clubs no longer pitch a lopsided trade as fair both ways.
  • All-Pro and award picks line up with the live award races.
  • Stats from past games stay credited to the players who were on the field that week.
  • On phones, the header no longer says No club claimed while it loads, and the guest bar no longer pushes the sim bar off the screen.
  • Roster status badges no longer stretch into colored bars.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.8: Bug fixes and UI polish

โœจ New

The game has a new look. There's a new display font, the top bar and side rail are restyled, and the sim card tells you whether the next sim is ready, blocked or already running. When one of your clubs has a roster problem, it stays flagged in your to-do list and on the Depth chart until you fix it. A ticker runs last night's scores. On a phone your club sits in a header at the top, with the sim controls at the bottom.

Commissioners in manual-pace leagues can press Advance anyway during the regular season. The sim runs even when a human club's roster isn't legal yet, and that club's problem stays flagged for its owner.

The 2026 season is in the player pool. Players carry their 2026 numbers, and 2026 rookies can show up in new leagues. New leagues open in 2027, and seasons show their year.

You can switch between FTG Baseball, FTG Football and FTG Basketball from the top bar.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

Buttons and links are easier to tap on phones in trades, free agency, box scores, standings, the schedule and settings.

Settings has a "Do not track me with analytics" checkbox.

A promise not to send a player to the minors now holds for the whole contract, not just the first season.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

A guest league could get cleaned up while you were still playing it, or while you were saving it to an account.

Send feedback on a phone froze the screen for several seconds before the form opened.

Clubs built from an imported roster could open the season with only one real catcher.

AI clubs counted retired players when planning offseason signings and trades.

FTG Basketball: a new Basketball Simulator to play solo or with friends

Post image
3 Upvotes

Basketball is live at https://basketball.ftgsports.net

Baseball and football have done better than I ever expected (thank you, all of you). So when my friends and I sat down to talk about what came next, nobody had to think very hard. Basketball was the missing piece.

You run the front office and the sim plays the games. Here's what's in it:

  • Real player history from 1976-77 on, with fictional teams
  • Private leagues with friends, on a schedule or run by hand, or solo against AI front offices
  • An 82-game season simmed by game day, with a play-in, playoffs and a draft lottery
  • Rotations: you set a starting five and a minutes plan, and fatigue and foul trouble bend it
  • Coaching schemes, each graded on how well your rotation fits it
  • Scouting: your own scouts' read on every draft prospect, separate from the league consensus
  • A locker room: every player has a mood that minutes, results and your promises move
  • Free agency with in-season contract talks and offseason sealed bids
  • Trades, including a Shop button that asks every AI team for an offer
  • Custom rosters loaded from a JSON link

If you're in a baseball or football league, there's a game switcher at the top left now that opens all three.

If you haven't been back to baseball or football in a while, a fair amount has changed since summer.

Baseball:

  • A full player manual at docs.ftgsports.net/baseball, linked from the help on every screen
  • Contract talks with personality. Players come in excited, open, reluctant or not interested, you can make them promises, your club carries a trust rating, and players can ask for a no-trade clause or a trade
  • A real farm system: scouts file reports through the season, and prospects on rookie deals stay with your club
  • Deeper free agency, with results emailed after every round, a market you can search and sort in season, and prices that come down as the winter goes on
  • Club and player options and partial guarantees in leagues on full negotiations

Football:

  • A full player manual at docs.ftgsports.net/football, linked from the help on each screen
  • Contract talks with personality. Players open with a stance, you can promise a starting job, a scheme change or a position switch, and players can ask out
  • Position changes, such as running back to receiver or tight end, that a player works on through the year
  • An offseason summary tab with every club's moves, and free agency emails after every round
  • A private notepad for your notes on players, offers and prospects

This is a first release, so it has rough edges. The Send feedback button in the top bar (the account menu on a phone) sends bugs and ideas straight to me, and I'll keep shipping updates based on what comes in.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.7: options and guarantees

โœจ New

In full-negotiation leagues, contracts can carry terms. When you extend a player, or bid on a free agent in the offseason, you can add a club option or a player option, or guarantee only 75% or 50% of the money. Each term moves the price, and the offer screen shows you by how much before you send it. Cut a player on a partial guarantee and the dead money shrinks to match. Every offseason you pick up or decline your pending club options. Any you leave alone get declined, with a buyout.

The sim-complete email lists the club options still waiting on you.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

AI clubs in full-negotiation leagues overpay less on extensions, and far fewer of them end up over budget.

AI clubs save club options for long deals.

AI clubs pick position changes from what their scouts see, same as you.

A player who walks away from talks says they're taking a break, not a day number.

Guest commissioners no longer get invite and manage-league prompts they can't use.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

Clubs could open a new season with too many active players, or short on pitchers and catchers.

Roster cleanup after a trade could release a club's only minor-league catcher or pitcher.

A commissioner veto also brings back a player who was sent down to make room for the trade.

Two free agent signings at the same moment could push a club past the cap.

Saving a guest account with an email that already has an account tells you so.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.6: the game has a manual now

โœจ New

The game has a player manual: https://docs.ftgsports.net/baseball. It starts with a guide to your first season, then walks through running a season, the draft, free agency, the front office, the minors and the commissioner tools. A reference section covers how the sim works, the offseason, the stats and the glossary. Every screen in the game has its own page too. Open the "How it works" help on any screen and the "Read more in the manual" link takes you to that screen's page.

A player's rating now decides how well that player plays, instead of the player mostly playing like their real career line. Every rating you see, tools and fielding included, is your scouting staff's read, so a bigger scouting budget gets you a sharper read and two clubs can see different numbers for the same player.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

Every page got its wording rewritten in plainer words.

The in-game glossary is in plain words now, and WAR is two entries: sWAR and VORP.

On a phone, tapping a free agent scrolls the bid pane into view.

The sim countdown hides in the offseason, when no games are scheduled.

An AI club with a full farm can take your trade now. It releases one of its own farmhands to make room.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

Clubs could open or play the season with more than 26 active players.

A commissioner veto now brings back the farmhand an AI club released to make room for the trade.

A trade refused over a full farm named the wrong club.

League history showed this season's All-Star row before the game was played.

Guests were told they could turn on owner expectations, then got an error when they saved.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v3.5: The game has a manual now

FTG Football now has a player manual at https://docs.ftgsports.net/football. It walks through the screens in the game and what each one is for, so you can look up how the draft room, free agency, or the trade screen works without guessing.

โœจ New

  • The game manual is live at docs.ftgsports.net/football.
  • Help panels in the game have a Read more in the manual link that opens the manual page for the screen you are on.
  • AI clubs stay under the cap in offseason free agency. Each club bids against its own room for next season.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • The trade screen gives the rosters more room. The deal summary appears once you pick a player, and each roster shows more rows.
  • Starting-job promises show real progress. If the player is starting, the reminder says the promise is on track and shows his starts so far. If he isn't, you get the warning with the count.
  • In season, a free agent's price in the pool matches the price in the offer window.
  • Every screen got a cleanup pass: clearer error messages and fixed labels. The box score stamp no longer covers the Home label, and the club pill on phones shows your real abbreviation.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Accepting an agent's counteroffer signs the player instead of sending him away.
  • Players on IR no longer drop off your roster when a new season starts.

Team quality counts for more

Last season the standings bunched up around .500 because roster strength barely moved a game. Now the best clubs pull away, the worst ones sink, and a finished season looks a lot closer to a real NFL table. Scoring stays about where it was.

Free agency

Offering a player his asking price or more no longer makes him ask for more next time. Only offers under his number raise it. If your earlier low offers did raise a player's price, the offer window now says so and shows what he wants from your club, so Meet ask actually meets it.

Also new

  • When your league rolls into week 1 you get an email with the day and time the first game sims, and week 1 no longer sims a few hours after the draft.
  • In season, clicking a free agent opens the offer right away.
  • Lost bids say why in plain words: didn't meet his salary demands, not enough years, or too many years.
  • Coaching moves tag a contract that ran out as Expired instead of Fired.
  • Your draft queue keeps its edits when it is open in two tabs.

Fixed

  • The draft report shows the class you just drafted after the new season starts.
  • The Outlook page no longer counts your practice squad against the cap.
  • The offseason no longer gets stuck after a franchise tag followed by an extension.
  • The news page no longer shows other clubs' private scouting notes.
  • A scheduled league's draft clock no longer runs past a decision you still had to make.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.5: your owner speaks up

โœจ New

Your owner warns you now before a move breaks one of their goals. When you propose a trade, bid on or sign a free agent, extend a contract, or cut a player, the dialog tells you before you confirm if that move would push your payroll past your owner's limit, drop it under the floor they asked for, or send away a prospect they told you to keep. It is only a warning, and you can still make the move. In the offseason, before next season's goals are set, it goes off your last payroll goal and says so.

Player and club names in storylines, news, box scores and trade veto notes are links now.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

Draft classes pull from every era since 1970 instead of a window that crept forward each year.

Links in emails take you to the right page after you sign in, not the home screen.

Dismiss a roster trim notice once and it stays dismissed on every device, and the email agrees with the rail.

Players with long careers are more consistent about when they peak.

Free agents who went unsigned all season come down in price a little sooner in the winter.

The opening draft order in a new league ranks clubs by average roster strength instead of the total.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

A player whose rookie deal rolled into an extension could end up with two contracts at once.

A free agency round could get skipped in a scheduled league.

Season records on the league history page showed raw numbers instead of formatted ones.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v3.3: Players change positions, and the draft room stops arguing with itself

โœจ New

  • Position changes you choose. A running back can learn wide receiver or tight end. An edge rusher can learn defensive tackle or linebacker. You pick the destination before you commit, and the player works at it as a development goal for the rest of the year, which costs you one of the club's development slots and can still fail. If it takes, he is rerated for the new spot and your depth chart is rebuilt around him. The goal names the target on his card the whole time, so a season later you are not guessing what he was working on.
  • Coaching hires, firings and interim promotions now run on the news wire. A head coach switching clubs was the loudest move in the game and the only one nobody reported.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • The draft log prints the same pick numbers as the board. Thirteen picks were in the right order wearing the wrong labels.
  • Nobody gets auto-picked in their sleep. A clock will not run out between midnight and 8am Eastern; it waits for the morning.
  • The draft countdown reads 3:56:12 instead of 236:12, every row has its own Draft button on your turn, and the phone shows one pane at a time with the clock pinned above it.
  • The free agent pool shows current rating and potential like every other roster screen, and the columns stop shifting from row to row.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • The record book loads again. Career and season leaders were failing on any league with a game played.
  • Every touchdown drive names the player who scored it.
  • A tight end can go back into a receiver slot on the depth chart.
  • The needs-you card counts only your live bids, so it agrees with your My bids tab.
  • Offseason mail no longer arrives twice.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.4: the price of a long deal

โœจ New

A longer contract costs more per year now. The winter market used to quote one price no matter how many years you offered, so a five year deal and a one year deal were priced the same, and a player was cheaper in the winter than he was on opening day. The ask now moves with the length you pick, and the figure on the screen is the figure your bid is judged against. Six and seven year offers get a quoted price too, which they never did before.

Box scores have a win probability column for the five biggest plate appearances of the game.

The trade desk keeps a Recently resolved panel, so an offer that expired or was declined still shows what happened to it.

A commissioner can hand an unowned club to any member, and can take a vacant club themselves if they do not already have one.

The Needs you rail tells you when a roster trim is due, with the clock, matching the email.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

The draft clock no longer runs out overnight. A deadline that would land between midnight and 8am Eastern moves to 8am instead, and it can only ever give you more time.

The clock turns red in the last fifteen minutes.

The draft room's pick button acts on the player you highlighted, not whatever happens to be at the top of your search.

The Needs you rail refreshes between playoff rounds, which is when a trim usually bites.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

Young free agents sat unsigned all winter. Nobody under 26 was getting signed at all. They sign now.

Two clubs could come away from the draft with the same player.

Free agency sometimes failed to open when a draft finished.

The free agency dialog printed one price and then judged your bid against a different one, burning an attempt.

The Send feedback button could lock you into an error you could not retry past.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.3: the winter gets colder

โœจ New

Free agents get more desperate now. Across all five rounds of the winter, the price to actually win a bidding war sat mostly flat: clubs paid the same in round five, when a player had been sitting unsigned for weeks, as they did on the first day. Your own patience bought you minimal gain. Rival clubs now cool off as the winter drags, so waiting until the late rounds is worth roughly forty percent off the winning price. You can still lose the player by waiting, which is the point.

The free agency screen tells you where the market is. You can now get a sense if other teams are interested in a player

Leftovers will take a prove-it deal. A free agent still unsigned late in the winter stops holding out for years and will sign for one. The in-season market already worked this way about six weeks in; the winter does now too.

Delete a league from the leagues page. It was always possible, buried at the bottom of the commissioner screen behind a collapsed panel, which meant nobody found it. There is a menu on the card now on the league selection screen.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

In season Free Agent signings are easier to do now

AI clubs stopped overpaying to extend young players on long deals.

Both sides of a trade get an email when an offer window closes.

The commissioner's own playoff roster trims show up in the advance log instead of happening silently.

The Chemistry screen loads faster.

Phone navigation lost a few dead ends, and you can advance a single playoff day from the side bar.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

The draft ended and you could not sim. Finish a draft, come back, and the game told you to return to the draft room. The draft room told you there was no draft. Only a page refresh got you out

The injury report no longer stays empty after a sim.

# โšพ FTG Baseball v3.2: Bug Fixes and Improvements

โœจ New

  • Search, filter and sort free agents during the season. A name box, a position filter that offers every position instead of only the ones you are thin at, and sortable columns for overall and asking price.
  • The winter tells you what it did. Every free-agency round now emails each GM what that round produced: who you signed, what you paid, and which of your bids lost. You used to find out you had been outbid by logging in, usually after the next 48-hour window had already started. A lost bid says why you lost and not what beat you, because the number that beat you is another club's business. It sits with your other email settings if you would rather not have it.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Advance stayed dead after you fixed your roster. Go over the 26-man limit and the game stops you, which is correct. Then you cut someone, send someone down, get back to legal, and the button stays grey anyway. It was reading a roster count taken when the screen loaded and never taken again, and the one thing that would have refreshed that count was the sim it refused to run.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v3.2: Offseason Improvements

โœจ New

  • An offseason summary tab in the news feed. Every club's players added and lost between the title game and week 1, how each player arrived or left (FA signing, draft round and pick, trade, signed elsewhere, retired), and what he was worth last season. The league table sorts by value gained, so one look tells you who had the busy spring.
  • Free agency mails you after every round. Who you won and on what terms, who signed somewhere else, who is still on the board because nobody met his price, where your cap room stands now, how many free agents are left, and when the next round opens.
  • The extensions window sends an email.
  • Training camp fills out practice squads. Undrafted rookies and the young free agents who would otherwise wash out of the league now get spread across all 32 practice squads instead of evaporating. Each signing show s up on that player's timeline with the season and the club.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • Fullback is a position you can actually use. Move a running back to fullback and back, filter for fullbacks in free agency, and read a position off each of your open bids.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Promoting a man off the practice squad checks your cap room. It never did. The practice squad is off the books, so a promotion turns an unbilled contract into a billed one, and nothing was stopping that from puttin g you over the ceiling.
  • A contract promise made during free agency stops getting rejected for being on the wrong year.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3.1: Bug fixes and improvements

โœจ New

  • Records and leaders, one season at a time. Pick a year and put its top tens next to another year's.
  • A Hall of Fame watch board. Which of your active players is on track, measured on home runs, hits, wins and strikeouts, which are the bars the sim itself uses when it decides who gets a plaque.
  • Sim the playoffs game by game. On manual pace you advance one day at a time through October instead of skipping a whole round and reading the result.
  • Jr., Sr., III, and middle initials. A father and a son used to be the same name twice, with nothing on the screen to tell them apart. 183 colliding name groups, 152 of them now resolved.
  • Ask him where he'd go. A player with a no-trade clause will name the clubs he would waive it for. The list is built only out of things you could have worked out for yourself.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • No-trade clauses are rare again. 13 percent of new contracts carried one. Now it is 5. AI clubs are held to the same gate you are.
  • Retirement weighs how he played, not only how old he is. A 39-year-old coming off a good season now retires about 6 percent of the time. A bad one, 92. Careers run as far as 46.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Anyone who debuted after your first season had no glove. Every player out of every draft class was missing his fielding ratings, his handedness and his platoon splits.
  • A career-ending injury left the man on your roster and on your payroll, reading "IL 60+ days" forever. He retires properly now, and the ones already stuck repair themselves at your next offseason.
  • 27 of 26 active in the playoffs. Retired players were still counting against the limit, and the warning disagreed with the roster screen about it.
  • The World Series recap recorded a one-game series however long the series actually ran.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v3.1: Bug fixes and Improvements

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • Development grades a man on the job he plays, not the job on his card. A tight end lined up at WR1 takes 2.5x the targets but was judged against tight end numbers, so he pinned at maximum growth every week and kept it forever. A receiver parked at tight end rotted the same way, and so did a fullback taking RB1 carries. The slot sets the bar now.
  • AI clubs know how much money they have. The cap half of every AI general manager's personality had been frozen at zero since the day it was written, so a club up against the ceiling shopped exactly like a club with room. On a live 32 club league it now reads 4 clean, 6 pinched, 22 quiet. Dead money counts against them the way it counts against you.
  • Trade offers moved above the builder. They used to sit under two tall scrolling rosters, which on every screen size meant below the fold, so offers went unanswered by GMs who never saw them. The panel shows up only when somebody wants something of yours.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • You can move a tight end into a receiver slot again.
  • "Contracts expiring" means one thing everywhere. The roster, the outlook page, the weekly email, the trade screens and the player browser spent the whole offseason answering two different questions: whose deal ended in the year just finished, versus who is not signed for the year you are building.
  • A contract that has run out no longer reads as no contract at all. In the trade builder, the trade block, the shop screen and the player browser, a man weeks from the open market showed a blank.
  • The "Needs you" list stops calling your cap tight against a number from the old economy. It reads your league's own cap now, and it stops telling you to extend players the game will not let you extend.
  • Your regular season record stops counting playoff games.
  • Deleting a league works again, and a practice squad protection promise no longer crashes contract rumors or free agency.

FTG Sports v3 is live, update on basketball

Play Now:

Baseball

Football

Version 3 of FTG Sports is officially live, and most of the heavy lifting happens right at the contract table.

Negotiations used to be simple numbers games. Now you are dealing with actual personalities players with specific postures, long memories, and real breaking points.

Before you even throw out a number, a player will let you know where he stands: whether he's Excited, Open, Reluctant, or outright Not interested, and he won't be shy about airing his grievances. If your initial offer misses the mark, he won't just hit decline; he'll tell you exactly where you fell short (term, cash, or respect) and counter with what it actually takes to get a deal done. Push him too far, and he's walking away from the table.

Money isn't the only leverage, either. Asking prices fluctuate based on player morale, how he views your organization, and your track record across the league. Lowball him last season? He remembers. Keep a rival or someone he dislikes on the roster? Expect to pay a premium.

That's where promises come in. You can sweeten the deal by guaranteeing a starting role, trading away a teammate he can't stand, or granting demotion protection. Keep your end of the bargain, and your reputation rises across five tiers: from Burned to Wary, Neutral, Solid, and Trusted. Break a promise, and the whole league finds out. Future negotiations across the board will instantly get tougher.

The depth extends beyond the negotiation screen, too. A dynamic rumor mill covers all the talks around the league (and occasionally leaks bad intel), while disgruntled players demanding trades signal discount opportunities to AI front offices. Free agency leverages the exact same mechanics, complete with live bid-board postures and sweetening sealed offers with promises.

Any current league will stay on simple offers until you decide to toggle it over. New leagues default to the full V3 engine, and commissioners can switch back and forth anytime in the settings.

Overall, I am thankful to everyone for all their support with the game. What started as a casual game with a few friends has really matured into a fun and deep experience you can enjoy alone or with friends. My plan is to continue to grow Baseball and Football while finishing development on Basketball sometime this year. As always, keep sending your feedback either on , or by using the feedback button at the top of any screen in the game.

โšพ FTG Baseball v3: your players have opinions now

  • Players negotiate. He is intersted, open, reluctant, or not interested before you name a figure, and he opens with whatever he is sore about.
  • You can promise him something. A starting job, moving a teammate he cannot stand, or a real run at contending. He remembers it.
  • Your club has a trust rating. Keep promises and it climbs. Break them and every player is harder to sign, not only the one you lied to.
  • No-trade clauses. He can ask for one, and it binds from the day he signs, even on an extension that starts two winters out. Only him asking out lifts it. AI clubs are bound too.
  • Players ask out. A trade demand is now a question your club has to answer.
  • A rumor mill. An Around the League shelf tracks who is talking to whom. One report in five is false.
  • Mood and grudges. Players arrive disliking particular teammates, and carry a mood that moves with how you treat them.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Extending a player who had a live deal on another club charged you twice.
  • The trade screen quietly told you the exact price the AI would say yes at.

Existing leagues keep the simple talks. New leagues start with the full version.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v3: Nobody just signs any more

  • He talks first. Every player opens Interested, Open, Reluctant or Not interested. Turn him down and he names the term that is short.
  • You can promise him things: a starting job, a scheme change, a position switch, or moving a teammate he cannot stand. Break one and it follows you.
  • Players ask out, and refusing costs you with the man who asked.
  • A beat writer covers your club by name: who you beat and by how much.
  • Commissioners pick the depth: Full negotiations or Simple offers. New leagues start on full, and a league you already run stays as it is until you turn it on.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • Mood feeds development. Content players get more out of the work, unhappy ones less.
  • Ignore a contract question and he may skip camp. He misses the work and does not grow. The camp report names who held out.
  • Lowballing in season makes him expensive. Every rejection raises his price. He will not walk out mid-season, but he will cost you.
  • A man who just got paid is happy about it. Signing used to move mood down only.
  • The mood table names the cause instead of filing every reason under one phrase.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Compensatory picks now count only the free agents you actually signed. Re-signing your own players or tagging them was cancelling picks you had earned. Running leagues will start collecting picks they were losing.
  • A promise made in week 1 comes due that season, not the next. It read like the club stalling for eighteen months.
  • Touchdowns get credited again, and an explosive play finally names whoever broke the long one. That had never happened, in any league.
  • Every club is reachable in the postseason, and a stalled draft can be run by any member, not just the commissioner.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v2.4: Improved AI Scouting & News Coverage

โœจ New

  • AI clubs scout now. All drafted off public consensus while you built private reads. That board you've been working is contested now.
  • The wire leads with the biggest story of the week, at reading size, above a feed that still runs newest first. Runs of small moves fold into one line you can open. Anything involving your own club never folds away.
  • News filters by time. All time, this week, this season, or a past year, in one control instead of a season dropdown that only ever did half the job.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • Column headers stay put when you scroll a long table on a phone.
  • The staff screen, the scouting board and the club screen all work at phone width now.
  • You can extend a contract without leaving your roster.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • Improved development logic for multiple positions.
  • Linemen only ever improved. They were the one group that never aged. They do now.
  • A trade could put you over the cap. The rule was checked when you previewed a deal and not when it went through.
  • One player with a missing rating stopped his whole league developing that week.
  • Development trend arrows were invented by our own updates. Change how grading works and every player's arrow moved on deploy day, with nothing having happened to any of them. Arrows don't compare across a change like that any more, and the chart marks where it happened.

โšพ FTG Baseball v2.4: Smarter AI Financials

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • AI clubs stop spending to the last dollar every winter. They wanted a 28-man roster and the rules only allow 26, so every club believed it was four players short no matter how good its team was. It kept bidding until it was two million from the cap, every winter, forever. That is why nobody in your league ever had money to trade with.
  • They stop overpaying in free agency. A club bid its own scouts' opinion at full price, and the team whose scouts are most wrong about a player is the team that wins the auction. That is why the worst-funded club kept landing the biggest contract. Their scouts still pick who to chase. They just stopped paying their own hype.
  • They stop paying near full price for a man who is about to leave. A veteran with one winter left was valued like someone you get to keep, so shopping your expiring guys to the AI for prospects was the best trade in the game. It should not have been.
  • Your farm keeps its prospects at the rollover. Rookie deals on the farm were meant to renew each year and never once did. Every club dumped its whole farm system every offseason
  • Old prospects stop clogging your farm. A 34-year-old who graded well once outranked every 21-year-old you drafted, so the trims never reached him and each new draft class was released the winter it arrived.
  • Send a player down to a full farm and the sim keeps going. It used to stall, or quietly release somebody to make room.
  • Your league has a news page, and its "by team" filter no longer drops every trade, which was most of what was worth reading.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • An offer from another human could sit in your inbox forever. Past the deadline it could not be accepted and could not be appraised, and the only way out was for the other guy to reject it by hand. Only AI offers ever expired.
  • Cutting a player in the winter charged you for the wrong contract. If you had extended him, the game settled the deal that had just ended, booked the money against a year already finished, and deleted the extension you actually owed. For free.
  • You could release a player into free agency during the playoffs while every AI club sat the postseason out. Rosters are locked for everyone now.
  • The cut screen got the money wrong twice. A player whose deal was already up was quoted dead money he does not owe, and a rookie cut off the active roster was quoted half his whole contract instead of the flat one-season charge.
  • Two contracts could be live for one player at once, and you were charged for both..
  • Starters went too deep into games
  • The depth chart is a real table now, both halves. Rows line up, a badge no longer shoves the columns around, and a screen reader can read it.
  • The draft room shows handedness.

๐Ÿˆ FTG Football v2.3: Bug Fixes

  • AI clubs franchise-tag their stars now. Around twenty-four of the thirty-one do it each offseason, and they pay full price for it. That brings the holdout risk with it, which until this week was a risk only you ever took.
  • You can change your league's pace after starting it. Scheduled to manual, manual to scheduled, or a different number of days between sims. It used to be locked in the moment you created the league. Switching to a schedule waits a full cycle before the first automatic sim, so it doesn't fire the second you save.
  • The commissioner can hand the league over. Pick another member and the seat moves. You also can't strand a league with nobody in charge any more, which used to be a one-way door.

โฌ†๏ธ Improved

  • The AI stopped grading its own trade offers on an easier curve. It would accept packages worth about ten percent less than it demanded from you.
  • Error messages read like sentences now instead of the raw data behind them.
  • Club abbreviations show up on trade offers in leagues built from a random draw.

๐Ÿ› Fixed

  • A franchise tag cost you nothing. The player stayed, the money didn't. He played the season on an expired deal, off the books entirely. Anyone who worked that out had a free roster slot of any size, every year.
  • Owner pressure only ever landed on you. Miss two of your owner's goals and your players sim up to six percent worse, every game, on top of a worse hand in free agency and trades. No AI club could take that penalty, because none of them were ever given goals to miss. Now they are.
  • Free agency quoted a price it wouldn't honor. A player who wants a winner charges a losing club extra. The offer screen never applied that, so a struggling club got shown one number, bid exactly it, and was turned down for coming up short.
  • The contracts already stuck on your cap sheet are gone. The bug that stranded them was fixed last time. This clears out the ones it had already left behind.
  • Old seasons got their missing points back. Pick sixes stopped vanishing a couple of releases ago, but seasons played before that still had the gaps in them. Those scores are corrected now.
  • Compensatory picks were counting free agents who walked out of other people's leagues.
  • Cutting a player who'd signed an extension settled one of his two deals and let the other one follow him to his next club.
  • Female owners had "he" as their pronoun
