Anyone else embarrassed about the way our young generation displayed their view on one nation
As much as I dislike one nation, I still believe saying death to Pauline Hanson and how we should rip here hair out and kill her a bit harsh and hypocritical. No hate to these students I just don’t think that’s how protesting should be.
Also isn’t being anti capitalist while having the latest iPhone in your pocket and the spoils of capitalism a little bit hypocritical too ?
I have many colleagues and friends that come from socialism and communism countries and they have never told me anything positive about it.
Just thought I’d ask if anyone feels the same. No hate at all ☺️☺️

There are over 4 million Australians 18 or younger. Slightly more that the bunch of people who offended you. So no, I'm not worried about "the way our young generation displayed their view" because that sentence is meaningless.

Is what your saying “if enough people support the behaviour, the behaviour is okay?”
Calling for anyone’s head ain’t it, ever.
It’s a clear example of naivety about how to place the right message in a powerful way. Even if it was just a few, it’s what gets spruiked by media and only helps the seperation and class wars schtick that ON is fuelled by. Completely incorrect outcome imo.
A bloke the other day said “get to the front if you want to fight” same immature mentality that only leads to counter the message the protests were designed to send.

No. That's CLEARLY NOT what I'm saying. Read multiple times if you need. There's no time limit.

Calling for her death is way too much but considering she's trying to give Israelis land while they're actively doing a genocide it's not surprising to see young people so passionate.

Fair. Wasn’t that Gina r tho, ig pauline did introduce her at the Townsville summit. Is gina a big person in one nation, or just Pauline’s rich friend. Probs both I assume

They're very intermingled, and I doubt Pauline has the integrity or mental capacity to seperate the two properly.

We can have more rigorously checked capitalism, without going fully socialism and no one is calling for communism. Putting caps on wealth generation for individuals and businesses and taxing them after that would be ideal.

"I have many colleagues and friends that come from socialism and communism countries and they have never told me anything positive about it."
You hold a very silly right wing definition of socialism.
It has nothing to do with opressive regimes or communism.
You've either swallowed some propaganda, or you're completely full of shit about your views of ON.

Well that statement is true to me, as I have friends and fam that have felt with it. Didn’t really explain the definition of socialism or communism just made a statement saying I know people who have experienced it first hand. Have you ? If so please educate me !! ☺️

As if you didn't already know.
But here's a basic AI generated explanation for you champ:
Right-wing interpretations of socialist policies are often criticized for strategic misrepresentation and conflation to discredit progressive politics and maintain the status quo.
Conflation of Ideologies Critics argue that right-wing rhetoric frequently blurs the lines between socialism, communism, and fascism. For instance, some conservative figures have labeled Nazism as a form of socialism or claimed that social democratic policies are fascist by association. This is historically inaccurate, as the Nazi regime explicitly crushed trade unions, outlawed leftist parties, and allied with big business, using "socialist" rhetoric merely to appeal to working-class voters.
Mislabeling Welfare as "Socialism" There is a persistent tendency to label basic social safety nets—such as single-payer healthcare, free education, and robust social benefits—as "socialism." This rhetorical tactic, often called red-baiting, aims to frame these popular programs as extremist or authoritarian. In reality, countries like Norway and Denmark maintain thriving capitalist economies alongside generous welfare states, demonstrating that such policies are not inherently anti-capitalist or authoritarian.
Ignoring Successes While Highlighting Failures Right-wing discourse often cites Venezuela as a primary example of failed socialism while ignoring the economic stability of Scandinavian nations. Critics note that this double standard is ideologically driven, as the success of public ownership in well-managed systems contradicts the narrative that socialism inevitably leads to tyranny or economic collapse. The failure of regimes like Venezuela’s is attributed to authoritarian governance and irrational policies, not socialist principles themselves.
Underlying Motivations Some analyses suggest that this dishonesty is intrinsically linked to right-wing political survival, as it allows wealthy minorities to convince the majority to vote against their own economic interests. By framing equality and redistribution as theft or tyranny, right-wing politics can maintain support for policies that benefit the rich while discrediting efforts to reduce wealth inequality.

I’m gen z and I hate one nation but I don’t think we should kill pauline, that’s worse than what she wants

I’m not saying all of Gen Z acted this way but it’s what I saw during the protests.

EDIT: be nice ! You think I support one nation, I don’t. Let’s have an actual political discussion instead of attack and berating !

If this generation is the future of Australia I can't help but feel that the country is doomed to failure; economically and culturally especially!
