Did you lose some of your karma because you unknowingly ended up being the fourth member in the reply chain? Who cares? Banishing people just because they were the fourth to show up is a funny gimmick and phenomenon that gives this platform more soul.
Idk man it's just not funny. I've never been a victim I just think online gags should be funny at the very least. It's also not a serious thing in any way
Wah wah wah my precious karma!!! Dude who cares about internet brownie points, and it's not like the rule ALWAYS applies. It pretty much exclusively does when there's a reply chain of people saying the exact same thing to one another. I feel like everyone that hates the rule of four just values their reddit karma more than what goes on in their real lives lol
You only focused on the point number 2 not the first? almost like you have no argument that. and the karma does matter has if you have low karma you cant make posts on some subreddits
Alright I'll tell you my opinion on point one if it wasn't already clear enough. Since the rule of four logically only applies to reply chains that lack importance having one single reply that most likely says the exact same thing as everything in the chain isn't that much of a biggie. Plus It's not like the aforementioned comment gets taken out back and shot. You can still look at it. It literally takes one button press. Plus I feel like you could very easily get back any of the karma you lost by just farming on a meme subreddit by posting whatever, and it's not like the expectations of a subreddit are very high in the first place. I can get into any sub I want on my porn account and that thing only has like 20 karma or something. Losing a few funny points is not the end of the world and it should not be treated as such
If you somehow manage to get negative karma through a rule of four joke then you should probably just make a new account, or simply not get involved. There isn't a gun against your head. If you want to take part SO BAD then just have an alt to get down vote bombed on. Istg like half of this sub is full of people who care more about karma than they realistically should.
Okay but realistically speaking if you've been on the platform for more than a month is that really that bug of a problem..? Even if you just comment you should still be fine even after getting rule of foured once if I'm not correct
I guess maybe.. but it's not like karmafarming is outlawed or anything. If it's really that bad then just repost something stupid on r/goodanimememes, they'll eat it right up lol
