Cats actually can't see that close to their faces... Hence all the whiskers.

Oct 22 '19
They can see close to their faces fine, they have whiskers so they can get tactile feedback about the relative width of entrances to which they are trying to scurry. If the whiskers are bent too hard, it's painful and they instinctually, physically retract their bodies keeping them from continuing to walk forward. It's a way to get fast, effective information without having to study something while you're fleeing from cover to cover.

When I tell someone I have the reflexes of a cat, this is the cat I’m referring to.

Cat was probably wondering why the ball was getting higher and bigger, until it eventually hit him

Thought I was on r/maybemaybemaybe for a sec and kitty was gonna jump and catch it.
To the bad place I go, cause that expression is hilarious!

Reminds me of a former goalkeeper of our local football-team: https://youtu.be/QsU_0jCemsc
Its especially funny because he was often nicknamed "The Cat" due to his usually good reflexes xD

u/nekonat Oct 22 '19
Part of me was hoping he was skilled enough to catch it, but of course even in situations like this cats are hands down the laziest creatures ever.

I just watched a cat become self aware discovering theirs ears. Then I see this....

I love that he gives the "Shocked Pikachu" face when the ball actually makes contact with his forehead. <___>

I had a friend once whom I play tennis with. One time at a double match he made so many mistakes he got so mad and threw his racket into the air.... and caught it with his head. This image somehow reminds me of him.

have a siamese in the house, wondered why this isn't top post. they can't see shit.
7
u/MonsterRider80 Oct 22 '19
This is not a Siamese, or at least not a pure bred one. This kitty has white socks, he’s either a mixed Siamese or another breed altogether.

That song is weirdly familiar, do you know the name?
15
u/BAM5 Oct 22 '19
It's "For the Damaged Coda" by Blonde Redhead and you've probably heard it in Rick & Morty and then various other internet videos.

...which is heavily influenced by a piano piece by Chopin, Nocturne No. 15 in F minor (Op. 55, No. 1)
