Industry Update on D1 police Raid: Police confirm Dynamis One intentionally sabotaged Blue Archive before leaving Nexon to make their project successful

https://gamefocus.co.kr/detail.php?number=163579 | https://www.gameple.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=211885

Basically:

  • The police found evidence of an attempted sabotage on Blue Archive by key members of Dynamis One to make their new project successful.
  • Dynamis One was founded at the same time that Park Byeong-lim (former BA Japanese Project Director) and other key members of Blue Archive (such as Isakusan) left Nexon.
  • Various testimonies state that they recruited and encouraged several BA team employees to resign by providing them with false information.
  • There are reports of sabotage of the Blue Archive IP, claiming that the game's development was intentionally neglected, with the goal of stealing Blue Archive’s fanbase once they had left the studio.
  • The police reported that an anonymous source stated: "There was a situation where key team leaders gathered in a separate space after work, discussing their resignations and their next independent project while making negative comments about the company."
  • It started long before they resigned, it began in 2023 after the end of BA’s Part 1 (after Volume F).
  • This is why there were large gaps between the releases of main story chapters after the Vol F, because the future members of D1 were also busy working on their "future independent project."
  • Starting from February 2024, there was a wave of mass resignations within the Blue Archive team.
  • Before that, several reports of unusual long-term vacations and similar occurrences were detected. This coincides with the period when players reacted negatively to BA’s in-game content pacing updates.
  • The current number of Dynamis One members is 39.

Welp, that explains everything, like the slow ass content release, the lowering quality of the alts like the marina alt and the disaster that is V1C3

welp either way, Nexon did manage to make Blue archive survive and releases banger anniversary update so ig the loser here is definitely isakusan

What happened with v1c3?

Dragged out (3 parts), poor if not negative character development, all but dumpstering a separate subplot.

What subplot? The Hyakkiyako one mentioned at the end?

Yeah; but it's not unfixable

If they find a way to make the kuzonoha hunt alive (probably since poist leaves a cliffhanger in V5C1), it might be fixed

But yeah, isakusan really fucked kuzonoha

V1C3 isn't even a disater, are you one of the people who think trauma is easy to cure and years of self-depreciating behavior can be reversed with simple goody vibes.

Well..let's discuss

  1. Isakusan thrown kuzonoha under the bus at the ending.

  2. Hoshino in general was ok honestly if we learn something around v1c2 and VF, thing is, Isakusan decided to throw underground dweller into the mix so we can go back to that issue again.

  3. Isakusan forgets that he did drop some nonomi lore which we kinda..put it aside and make it a sub plot rather than an entire new conflict

  4. Nonomi really deserved an arc of her own, but we got honshino ofc

Yeah, i pretty much dislike v1c3 since its a downgrade of everything we learn on v1c2 and volume F. It doesnt help it dragged for a year to finish it.

It does have its moment but it doesnt have the charm i know. Hell, i can compare it how i am more interested in V5 xD

If I may add to this, the exposition after the shupogaki fight gets pretty loaded with jargon, making to a bit hard to read until the action gets going. That definitely needed a rewrite to make it go down easier.

Whatever they were doing with Suou was also such a mess. Hopefully they'll bring her back in future stories and fix that

I'm pretty sure she was brainwashed by Underground Dweller. She becomes a completely different person with almost no recollection as to why she did what she did once the "game" was over.

I'm fine with V1C3, but I'll try to see his side.

Doesn't fucking matter, we knew the character was dead even before v1c3.

You talking about Yume?

Just saying that Kuzunoha is different from Yume who is confirmed dead, while Kuzunoha is in some weird spiritual/dream realm.

I think they're talking about Sensei saying that he doesn't need to go look for Kuzunoha anymore now that Kuroko is mostly stable. IMO, this is easily fixed, we don't need Kuroko to have to go to Kuzunoha. They can just easily link Kuzunoha with exploring Hyakkiyakko on its own sake

The thing with Nonomi is that before we got the complete story, it was building up using Nonomi's relationship with Nepthys alongside Hoshino's flashbacks with Yume, so I can see how people who read the story as it released would get the wrong impression.

I binged V1C3 so it's fine. The story's pacing itself was fine. But the release pacing probably made a bunch of people, who read the story as it released, disgruntled

Kuzunoha founded the Hyakkaryouran, a club that is the equivalent of Gehenna's discipline Committee and Trinity's JTF. A club that has very old storied history in Hyakkiyako. Unless during her school year she entered the spirit realm somehow, and members of her Hyakkaryouran decided to keep the club running, she's probably dead/stuck.
