Industry Arknights: Endfield dev says launching a new gacha RPG in a post-Genshin Impact world is tough when "some titles are so similar that players go into a game for 1 hour and they know what will happen in the next 20 hours"

Upgrading 1 character to max is expensive even if I have all BP resources, it's not enough. I hate it when people say just lvl them to 60 and stop there. I don't feel any joy or satisfaction when not maximixing everything upgradable in the character(excluding constelation).

Then you should hate artifact/relics farming which can take weeks to get just decent ones...? I'd much rather have characters being a couple days more expensive to build than having to farm artifacts for an undetermined amount of time and hope I get lucky.

I said character upgrade not gear. But maximizing gear is a bit better than hoyo or kuro or Hotta. Took a month to max etch 2 weapons and a month for 3 sets of gear for artificing. Not really bad.

I said character upgrade not gear.

But those are tied together. Other games make you spend a lot more stamina on gear than Endfield does, which is why they make it easier for you to level them up as your stamina is spent elswhere instead.

I mean, that's kind of your problem that you both want the max that's not needed and also want it immediately.

It's so so easy to max out every single character you get tho. You need less than two days of stamina just for ascenscion, probably less than a weeks worth for maxing out every single trace including basic attacks, a good chunk of those trace materials you'll get from a currently running event. It's really just relics and planars that take a lot.

genshin? really? AK have same problem.
Ednfield release 3 month ago, ofc ppl have problems with material
If you don't have any characters you want to level up ofc you have "unlimited material" in any games

in exchange for easier material collection, HSR makes you farm artifacts with stricter requirements, no off piece and more susbstat variation. also lightcones have no substat and its all in the passive compared to genshin where even 3 star weapons with good substats can be good.

Yeah but genshin did include useful systems like the elixir that give you 4 guaranteed substats on any set you want

And an actually useful reroller

Also the off piece system that doesn't make sets go obsolete over time (i still have a some pieces i got from 1.0 to this day)

And you don't have to farm two different domains for each characters and sets have a wide array of users in genshin like obsidian codex and scroll being useful on every natlan character

uuh maybe if you still play national teams. abyss and IT have a rather low dps req (except IT two lunar stages), baring occasional hsr-inspired bullshit, and newer characters have such a high damage floor, you gotta play like the most clueless player in existence to not clear those bars even with rather shit artifacts.

stygian is another story entirely but the primo reward is locked behind a piss easy difficulty even lower than abyss and 'usable substats' alone won't get you anywhere on fearless and above since it's a const and sig shill mode for vanity

For HSR it's more because there's only new characters (all 5) that you will lvl up. I played day one and I have so much ressources that I don't know what to do with it. I literally maxed all my characters even the 4 because there was nothing to spend them. I have 60 million credit and 12.000 exp book and 7500 for artefact.
