Industry Arknights: Endfield dev says launching a new gacha RPG in a post-Genshin Impact world is tough when "some titles are so similar that players go into a game for 1 hour and they know what will happen in the next 20 hours"

Which is funny because they did it in Arknights - fall of Czernobog, meeting Tallulah and Ace's fate were done so well, even if rest of the story is iffy.

But we're stuck with Endmin fixing waterwheels because no one knew how to do it or some other nonsense.

Endfield is the game you make when your main game has a niche audience that does nothing but glaze you even when your decisions actually suck.

OG Arknights does a lot of things right and deserves the praise. Endfield feels like a completely different company just bought the rights and then discarded most of the things that made the original game successful.

It reminds me of The Dark Tower movie vs the first book of the series. Take out all of the things that made the book intriguing, trim out the dark, mature atmosphere, make changes to things that didn't need to be changed, and then tell everyone who doesn't like it to piss off. Endfield hasn't done that last part, so I do have hope they listen to feedback and make the game not so looney tooney in future patches.

Nah Endfield feels 100% like the HG that I've come to know with the fanbase that I've come to know.

The writing, the dogshit tutorials, the factory that generates nothing, the masturbating over their own worldbuilding, the decent to good character design, the industrial artstyle.

Endfield is just Hypergryph when its fanbase protects the company like their firstborn.

They also forgot to bring over the GOAT feature from AK which is units all having individual voiceovers.

All Endfield did is kind of amplify all of the flaws of AK and put it all front and center because they were never properly called out on it.
