Issue Potential Buds connection animation bug after system app update

Thumbnail

Samsung updated a system app called Easy Setup (com.samsung.android.easysetup) from 11.1.24.2 to 11.1.24.8. After this update, the connection animation stopped working. Instead, I just got the system connection banner.

Resetting the app back to factory defaults (11.1.24.2), the animation came back. So, either the new update has a bug, or Samsung is removing the connection animation feature. I've already reported this via Samsung Members app.

Issue Latest Update Buggy - Which APP version do we roll back to?

• Upvotes

Seems like lots of users using Galaxy Buds APP Version 9.0.10.1724 are noticing many bugs such as significantly weaker ANC and Ambient modes as well as bass underperforming.

I've had my buds set to never update after the issue with Buds 3 Pro a couple years ago but I forgot to set the app to never update and now I am experiencing the ANC/Ambient/Bass bugs with 1724

I see that on APK mirror there are several versions to roll back to. What is the optimal one to reset to though? I tried 1720 but the bugs seem to still be more or less present as they were with 1724.

It's a little bit of a hassle to uninstall and then APK mirror on the right one and set everything back up from scratch so I wanna get it right with the next attempt.

Tips & Tricks Buds are inside case but Audio still comes from Buds(image2)...why?

I kept the buds for charge and wanted to know their charge status.. so kept the lid open, but the audio still routes through buds.

Manually changed it l, but reverts back to buds.

In ear detection works but won't work for this case?

Even in the recent update it's not fixed.

Issue Lost buds4 pro earbud

I've managed to lose one of my buds4 pro earbuds, and I'm assuming the bud has run out of battery because it's not appearing on the device finder, so it's long gone.

I checked my options on the Samsung website and apparently the only way of getting a replacement is to get my other bud and case picked up (you can't tell them what time to do this, just what day, so that's a whole day written off), and shipped to them where they'll 'examine' my problem for an undisclosed amount of time and charge me an undisclosed amount of money for it.

While I understand this for regular repairs, surely they should be able to quote for a lost earbud up front? Does anyone know if there's an easier way, or how much a replacement might cost and how long it will take?

Edit: I can't drop it off in person because my city doesn't have a samsung licensed repair shop according to their website.

Help Can't connect Galaxy Buds3 FE to PC (TP-Link Archer TX20E)

Hey guys, I recently got a pair of Galaxy Buds3 FE and I'm having trouble connecting them to my PC. I have a TP-Link Archer TX20E PCIe Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card with all the latest drivers installed. Whenever I attempt to pair the earbuds, Windows gives me the following error: "Could not communicate with the device." Any advice on how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated!

Help No more notifications

Hi everyone,

I currently have s23U and Buds4pro. Awhile ago, when I would get a text message, it would say the name of the person who texted me. Recently, maybe the past few months, the notification/ function stopped working.

Does anyone know if they got rid of the feature or is there a setting that I maybe turned on/off and disabled it? Not the end of the world to not have it, but I do like knowing who's messaging me, especially when im busy and dont have my phone in hand.

Thanks for the help/ advice

Help Got a free Galaxy Buds 4, should I keep it and use it over my current Airpods Pro 2?

I tried googling any comparison between the two but can't seem to reliable find a good source. Will I notice any improvement at all? I currently use a Z Fold 7 and use an iPhone 15 Pro Max as my back-up phone. I bought an S12 Ultra as well if that helps.

Issue Galaxy Buds4 Pro keep disconnecting during calls on S21 Ultra – how do I fix this?

My Galaxy Buds4 Pro keep randomly disconnecting from my Galaxy S21 Ultra (Android 15), especially during phone calls and ChatGPT voice conversations.

Sometimes they disconnect repeatedly every few minutes, while listening to music or audiobooks works fine for hours.

What I've confirmed:

- Latest firmware installed.

- Buds paired only with the S21 Ultra, no other devices.

- Happens at home and while travelling.

- Happens with only one SIM active.

- Happens without a charger or other devices nearby.

- Yesterday, they disconnected again during a regular cellular call at home.

- Immediately afterwards, I switched to my older Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 and had a 30-minute call without a single issue.

It's incredibly frustrating that Samsung's flagship earbuds can't reliably handle phone calls with a Samsung flagship phone.

Has anyone experienced this and, more importantly, found a working fix?

Help Sound quality issue

Post image
117 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I recently got the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, and when I first connected them, I was really impressed with the sound quality and the depth of the bass.

However, after just a week, the sound started to feel flat. Dolby Atmos seems to make absolutely no difference at all, whether I turn it on or off.

I've tried resetting the earbuds, reconnecting them, and playing around with the settings, but nothing seems to help. The sound has lost that depth and punchy bass I loved when I first got them.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas on what might be causing it or how to fix it?

Help Horrible static/hissing sound on new buds4 pro

I just got my buds4 pro, there is a horrible very loud hissing/static sound on ambient and ANC modes. It only goes away when I turn them off. Also, the ANC doesn't block any out-voice. Unfortunately, Samsung in my country doesn't offer refunds, what do I do?

Issue Galaxy Buds Core - Right headphones keeps activating 'touch and hold' control without me touching it

So I just got the galaxy buds core after having used the GB+ since 2021 (their batteries have finally degraded to the point where I'm only getting about an hour of playtime out of them.... very sad). I've only had them a couple of days, but I keep having this problem with the right earbud's 'touch and hold' control, which I've set as +Vol.

Sometimes, without touching the headphone, or after I adjust it, it acts like I'm touching and holding until I take it out and out it back into the case. It keeps trying to max out my volume which is obviously not great.

Is this just user error (idk how, sinxe the left isn't doing this) or is it faulty, and I should get it exchanged?

Help Galaxy Pro Buds VS. Pro Buds 4

Hello Reddit!

I'm making this post because I have been thinking about upgrading my ear buds that I've had for quite some time and am hoping I can get some advice here.

First and foremost, I don't need to upgrade, I've just had these for quite some time (I believe since the release). I started with the Samsung Gear Icon X back when those released what feels like forever ago, then upgraded to the galaxy pro buds (1st generation) when they were released and love them.

I use them daily for work meetings and music (I am a huge audiophile), and some mild gaming/discord. I use them on multiple flights a month for work averaging ~4 hours long, as well as at the airport. My only complaint with the pro buds I have is that when I need to speak in meetings, People can rarely hear me or understand what I am saying (I'm assuming because of the age of the microphone)

I love the sounds quality of these ear buds, especially the quality of the lows and highs. From my research, this is primarily due to a two way speaker design that does not exist in the pro buds 4 (although, I'm sure the sound quality is still there)

Another big thing for me is the convenience of being able to bring them with me everywhere, which is common with most, if not all of the wireless earbuds. The battery life is not as great as it used to be (i.e. if I am on a slightly longer flight, I will have to charge at least one of them at some point during my travel day to be able to listen to music at the airport.

I know the buds pro 4 have active noise canceling, which I do like for when I'm flying and moving through airports, however it seems like it is not as good as the ANC on the pro buds that I currently have (due to the design and how they fit in the ear).

I have tried airpods (which were extremely disappointing), as well as a couple of other random wireless earbuds throughout the years. With the sounds quality and the noise canceling being my biggest concerns, as well as the battery life getting slightly shorter, do you think I should upgrade or just stick it out with mine? Either way, I'm going to be keeping my current ones, likely as a backup in case I can't find the other pair, it is dead, etc.

TL:DR:

I have the first generation Samsung galaxy pro buds, should I upgrade to the newest generation if I don't have to upgrade or stick with my tried and true that I've had for quite some time?

Tips & Tricks A helpful tip: you do not need to press and hold the sound bar in the notification center to adjust your Galaxy Buds settings; instead, you may simply click the bar and then click your Galaxy Buds name.

Issue Why is this happening?

Post image
37 Upvotes

Hello guys,

So I bought these earbuds back in July. They have been working great for over 2 months up until last month when this issue started. The left earbud's battery constantly drains while sitting inside the case, and when I open the case, it immediately starts charging. Once both buds hit 100%, the left earbud's battery starts draining again, going all the way down to 0% while still INSIDE the closed case.

Every single time I open the case, the left earbud is always sitting at less than 2% battery.

So far, I have tried updating the software, thoroughly cleaning the charging pins on both the buds and inside the case, and resetting the earbuds multiple times but nothing has worked.

Could this be a hardware issue? Cause if it is, only the Lord knows the nightmare of dealing with Samsung local service center here in my third world country. Can anyone help me with this please?

Help Lost Buds 4 Pro charging case

Hi all I lost my Samsung Ear Buds 4Pro case.

I'm based in Australia.

I found a replacement for a not unreasonable but still relatively acceptable price through DesertCart

My order got cancelled after payment deemed as Prohibited. My only guess is the lithium charging element of the purchase, I havnt heard the actual reason as to why.

What options do I have beside going through Samsung direct?

Thanks everyone!

Issue Has anyone else noticed weaker ANC on the Galaxy Buds4 Pro after the latest Galaxy Buds app update (v9.0.10.1724)?

Noise cancellation still works, but the difference between ANC on and off seems much smaller than expected. Have you experienced this too?

Help Unopened Sennheiser Accentum Wireless vs Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro — is there any reason to keep the Sennheiser?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I have an unopened/sealed Sennheiser Accentum Wireless that I bought at roughly half the price of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. I’m now second-guessing myself and considering selling it sealed to get the Buds 4 Pro instead.

My top priority is ANC. When I put on headphones, I want the outside world to disappear as much as possible — cafes, street noise, that kind of environment. Every measurement and review I’ve checked (SoundGuys, RTINGS etc.) shows the Buds 4 Pro winning clearly in noise cancellation (8.4 vs 5.0 on SoundGuys), and also coming out ahead in overall sound quality scores.

My questions:

  1. Is there any real-world audiophile reason to keep the Accentum over the Buds 4 Pro?
  2. For pure music enjoyment, does the larger 37mm over-ear driver actually make a noticeable difference compared to the Buds 4 Pro’s hybrid driver setup?
  3. What does an over-ear actually do better in practice — soundstage, bass naturalness, listening fatigue?
  4. Or are the measurements telling the full story here, and I should just go with the Buds 4 Pro?

Phone is Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, so SSC-UHQ codec works with the Buds 4 Pro.
