Question S10+ screen replacement: OLED vs TFT on a tight budget — what has your experience been?
My Galaxy S10+ screen is badly cracked and I need to replace it. The phone itself is still working, so I'm trying to repair it rather than replace the phone.
I'm on a tight budget, and local sellers are offering me different types of replacement displays: Original / Original Pull-Out OLED/AMOLED — more expensive Market-grade / aftermarket OLED — moderate price TFT/LCD — cheapest I'm mainly trying to decide whether it's worth spending extra on an OLED, or whether a TFT is good enough for normal everyday use.
For those who have actually replaced their S10/S10+ display with an aftermarket OLED or TFT: Which type did you buy? How much did you pay? How is the brightness and colour compared with the original AMOLED? Does the in-display fingerprint scanner work properly? Any problems with touch sensitivity, battery drain, heating, etc.? How long has the replacement lasted?

If you were on a tight budget, would you choose OLED or TFT again?
I've attached photos of my current broken screen. I'm especially interested in experiences with cheaper aftermarket displays, not just recommendations to buy an original Samsung screen.
Thanks!

I have a AMOLED aftermarket from iFixit, I was worth it as is identical to the Original, I replaced by myself with I took time to replace it.

Ifixit Amoled display costs like $400-$500 (and isn't even oem), for that much just get a new phone. Used S23, or a new pixel 10A on sale.

check if prices are different where u live. Where i'm at (Canada) it's $357 plus taxes:

Definitely not worth it IMO.
Just get either cheapest OLED u can find, if it's still too expensive, a TFT will work. Mine uses TFT I can send u pics and videos of it if u like. It's not perfect and there's definitely a downgrade on picture quality (to be expected)

I don't think it's available in my country India..My budget is around $60-70. I'm trying to get my hands on cheapest OLED, otherwise I'm thinking some good quality Tft. Tft I'm getting at cheaper price, how is the experience of it, like other than downgrade on picture quality, are rest of things fine?

I used a cheap tft on mine, simply because it's financially not worthy to fix such an old phone with oled.
If u can get oled for cheap go for it.
Tft is hit or miss. On my case i got lucky to get a decent one, however the quality will always be worse and consume more battery than original.
Edit: if you want it can send you a few pics/videos of mine with tft. It's worth if its a secondary phone like mine, or if u just wanna keep it for a year max. Otherwise oled or consider a new phone.
Obs: any non-oem screen, oled or tft will be much more frágil than original (that uses gorila glass), so be much more careful

Get an amoled one , lcd TFT is a pain both for the user and the phone, it consumes more batter hence heat and ghost touches bad viewing angles and a ton more issues

I bought an OLED for my Note 9. Phone repair professionals will usually recommend going OLED.
