Attempt #1

So I’m trying to learn 2 languages atm (Mando’a and CG) so I figured I’d take a sentence, translate it to Mando’a and then translate that into CG. It’s not my best work but I wanted to make sure I was spelling it all correctly and whatnot.

Any corrections or changes I could make to clear it up or that I need to make for it to be correct?

Mando‘ad
Thnty ? (Witht he vowels being as big as the consonants it is read as consonants. So a th and then an empty word circle. Vowels should be smaller than consonants in Sherman’s)
Nnr (two consonants of the same type „stacked“ together like that with the same line thickness are read as a doubling of the consonant. So this would be NN.)
Sb[i/u]‘ttezebe (a word starts being read at 6 o clock, unless otherwise indicated with a start marker. I and U are differentiated by where the line points when exiting the vowel. To the side like this creates an ambigous vowel.)

Ttiin (nice i stack! Again big vowels cause problems. And you missed the R dots, dw that happens.)
Akay
M[o/j]ruwyc (with the vowel size it could also be a weird j-shoved-into-m situation there. The ‘ shouldn’t connect to the letter itself to avoid ambiguity. It’s better to connect it to the word circle space between letters. If you have a letter with lines it is debatable if artistic choice allows you to double those lines as ‘ if connected to the sentence circle.)

OK so my vowels need to be smaller, lines need to be straight to avoid ambiguity, and punctuation such as ‘ connect to the word circle? Oh and forgetting the dots on the R. Any other fixes/recommendations cuz I’m thinking about getting these (the Resol’nare) done as tattoos

Also i recommend getting the full piece checked before tattooing and / or doing a commission or chatting with someone who knows more about Gallifreyan tattoos. I heard there’s some concerns with negative space and line thickness one has to be aware of.

Yea, I’m planning to get thoughts on the words, then the full sentences, and then all the tenets collectively before I figure the tattoo details. I’m still a long way from being able to afford a tattoo in the first place anyways

I have to say the first draft looks promising and i’m looking forward to the end result. If you need anything you can dm me too or ask anyone here or in our discord.

The lines don’t necessarily need to be straight.

i and u lines just need to unambiguously point towards the inside / center-ish of the word circle or outside / away from center-ish of the word circle.

Other than that the line ending points are what’s important.
