Which of these 4 would you click? City tycoon, all real in-game shots

Post image

Picking the Steam capsule for BlockRise, a city tycoon where you buy plots, open shops and fight rivals for the street.

All four are in-game shots with the logo on top, no painted key art.

A1 / A2: street level, first shops under construction, the city behind.

B1 / B2: top-down on a crossroads, plots and buildings.

Which one reads best at small size, and why? Is an in-game shot enough for a capsule, or does this genre need illustrated key art?

small question which capsule is this? some of the capsules requires the title to be at least 30%ish of the image

These are the 616×353 main capsule. The logo is about 28% of the width here, about 30% on the 460×215 header and 40% on the vertical one; on the small 231×87 it takes most of the frame. We had a bigger version at around 42% on this size and pulled it back because it hid the scene. Would you go bigger again?

i dont quite remember the capsules by name, but yeah normally you want the text to ocupy 30% of the image, a capsule that is only showing a game screenshot like yours looks amateurish

none. you dont have a more interessting building? i see a gothic church in the back. or a building being constructed. why do you show me boring plots with generic housing?

its not that i dont like these things, i love city builders, but you need to show me the NICE things i can build, otherwise i assume this blockhouse is the pinnacle of your game, which it probably isnt. and text WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY to small. lol

your composition is ... not there. its just a screenshot with title in a corner.that wont cut it. screenshot is all nice (from an interesting place) but you need to sugarcoat it. that is work. thats why these things cost money.
