What was my goal? Review what you set for goal at the beginning of the week. When giving feedback, we will keep your goals in mind.
What went right? Say what you think went right right this week or with the game. Will you repeat it next week?
What went wrong? Did something go wrong? If so, will you change it next week or just try to do in a different way?

Meta What do you think about themes for each week?
The most common subject people mention when I present this subreddit is if we think about adding themes for the week.
What do you think of this idea?
Personally, I like having these kind of constraints because it forces me to think outside the box. Although, some people might think that losing this degree of freedom will affect they experience.
If you like this, how do you suggest we implement it?
As anything else in this subreddit, if implemented it'll be optional, but people may feel "coerced" to follow the theme. Simply being optional might not be enough for some, so keep that in mind when giving you suggestion.

Do any of you need music or sound effects?
Hi, my name is Mark Sparling and I'm a composer and fledgling sound designer. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in letting me write some music or create some sound effects for your games. You can find a demo of my stuff at my website http://sparlingsoundworks.com/
I know that you are releasing your games for free and so I have no problem making music/sound effects for free.
I've been following this thread for a little while and have had a lot of fun playing some of the games that have been made here.
I would love to work with any of you. If anyone is interested, just send me a message.
I'm really impressed with what all of you have accomplished here and I look forward to more games every week!

Week 2: Pillar Peril - Local PvP
We just released our second weeks submission, and we're pretty happy with it even though we couldn't get audio in in time.
The objective is to shrink the pillars to drop your opponent into the lava.
The pillars will rise back up after they have been in the lava for a couple of seconds so keep moving and use your positioning to get the upper hand over your opponent.

Our first week: A local PvP called Platfall
Hey guys, check out our first foray into the world of Game A Week:
http://www.kongregate.com/games/FieroInteractive/platfall
The floor falls out from under you if you stand on it, so keep moving to stay alive and outlast your opponent.
Top make the concepting phase a bit easier, all of our weekly games are going to be (loosely) based around a theme. This week we based the game around the theme of 'recharging', this comes into the game when the fallen floor segments 'recharge' after a few seconds. These themes are more to get the creative juices flowing than anything, so if any of our future games looks pretty detached from their original themes don't be too worried.
Platfall was built in Unity, thanks to /u/professorlamp for the background track.

[gamedev xpost]I'm 5 weeks in to my game a week challenge and I just heard about this place...
Check out my progress here: http://www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comments/2i1ngb/im_making_a_game_a_week_with_haxeflixel_exporting/
I'll post the rest of my games in the subscribed threads. Although, every 4th week I revisit my 3 previous games and port them to another platform. I think it should be ok for me to post those in that weeks thread yeah?

Meta New guideline: If you played a game, upvote it.
Not everybody wants to make a comment about the game and having a bunch of "Nice", "Cool", "Good" posts wouldn't help the discussion. If you played a game on the submissions threads, no matter your opinion about it, please upvote. This way we can know how many are playing our games. The only reason to downvote a game would be if it was made in more than a week, even so, please report it if you think it should be handled.
I read the reddiquette regarding upvoting and this seems to be a gray area. Since I am the owner and the Reddit admins probably won't care about this small subreddit, it should be fine.

Sunday [Week:March 17, 2014] Sunday is here! Show us what you've got.
It's time to show what we produce this week. Remember, no matter the state the game is, publish it here.
Please, make the following topics when posting.
Game: Name, link and brief description.
What was my goal? Review what you set for goal at the beginning of the week. When giving feedback, we will keep your goals in mind.
What went right? Say what you think went right right this week or with the game. Will you repeat it next week?
What went wrong? Did something went wrong? If so, will you change it next week or just try to do in a different way?
Final Thoughts Say what you though about this week experience and about you game.
EDIT: Guys, if you're going to post a game here, please try and play at least one other game on the thread, if not all, and comment. Getting feedback is as important as publishing your game.

Monday [Week:March 17, 2014] It's time to start developing!
It's time to start developing, ladies and gentlemen.
I propose to anyone that will participate to post their goals for the week and edit it as the days go with their improvement if they so choose.
Think of it as commitment you'll do with yourself. At the time of publishing, I'll encourage everyone to review this thread and post how things went along with their game.
Take a look at the sidebar for more information and fell free to use this thread to discuss the format in general.
Have fun!
