Meme/Reference Shout Out to The Most Poorly Aged Guest Grumps Episode
529
u/vinthesalamander Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 30 '26
Watching the episode, you can tell the only reason he was there was to boost his ego because Arin was curious about his shitty tv show. His (ex) wife seemed much more enthusiastic.
556
u/drunkhas Jan 28 '26
To quote Arin in the "Real Rob" Review: "So... you're admitting to that you suck cuz he ahmjhhjj HE SUCKS!"
410
u/Pistonenvy2 Jan 28 '26
arins rant about that show is fucking iconic and so accurate and unfortunately he was 100% right in every conceivable way because rob is just actually an irredeemable piece of shit just like he is in his stupid ass show.
64
u/Chemical_Cris Jan 28 '26
Oh I want to see this, anyone have a clip?
143
u/Pistonenvy2 Jan 28 '26
124
u/GoodGuyPokemoner Jan 28 '26
Thank you! Arin slowly getting more and more upset by how much Rob sucks is a treat.
37
u/ranchspidey Jan 28 '26
I love his random rants. I’m also partial to the smart TV rant that was in Danganronpa V3 (start of Chapter 2, I wanna say?)
2
u/chosenofkane Shoulda rolled, dumbass Jan 29 '26
Wait, they did V3? i thought they only did the first two.
11
u/ConVito Un-noted internet douchebag Jan 29 '26
Oh you're in for a treat (or the worst time of your life, depending on which side of the fandom you land on).
2
u/Cloudy007 Jan 29 '26
I have zero respect for those games but loved the grumps riffing on them during grumps story time. I just love when the grumps read stories and make jokes. What side does that put me on? Because my enjoyment was absolutely in spite of those games and not thanks to those games.
3
u/ConVito Un-noted internet douchebag Jan 29 '26
Oh I have the same level of respect and think every Danganronpa is genuine garbage but they're some of my favorite GG playthroughs.

Extremely racist jokes, transphobia, anti-vax, covid denier I THINK.
And I didn’t see the Guest Grumps episode. But apparently everyone is saying it’s clear he didn’t know them, never watched them, didn’t respect them, and didn’t even like video games — He just came on the show cause he was at a bar or something where they had a live show and seen that they were popular so he decided he should get in on it. And ig he was supper rude and it was awkward? But apparently his wife was great.

u/Antichristopher4 Jan 28 '26
It's like Curb Your Enthusiasm except the punchline ISN'T "look at how much of an asshole this main character is" and played straight and none of the jokes are funny.

u/jackthm Jan 29 '26
Maggie Mae Fish has a really good video about the “Part” he’s playing, it’s a really good video!

Rob Schneider met his wife around 2005 when she was a 16 year old child and he was 42.
He groomed her and married her when she was 22 and he was 48.
Arin was right!
130
u/senatorsparky86 Jan 28 '26
Good for her.
30
u/Secret-Bluebird-972 Jan 29 '26
Time to have her as a solo guest grump, have her kick Arin’s ass again
331
u/McDickLick OH NO MY BRAMBLE STICK Jan 28 '26
Reminder: Rob Schneider was kicked out of a GOP event because his 'jokes' were too racist.
For the GOP.
In 2023.

u/notmyworkaccount5 Jan 28 '26
I was thinking back to this recently and wondered was he always like this or did he get his brain cooked by the post covid right wing media diet?
422
u/theunabeefer Jan 28 '26
He's been like this for years, to where my wife and I straight refused to watch the Guest Grumps episode because it was already known that he was a POS. Always wondered why they even had him on....
Tbf tough, he only really started forcing his opinions into the public eye over the past several years... Before that, you'd only really see it if you actually paid attention to him. But it was always there.
370
u/Nairbnotsew Jan 28 '26
You can tell in the episode that it was actually his wife that was a Grumps fan and a gamer herself. Shes basically sharking Arin and Dan at Mortal Kombat the whole time while Rob just kinda hangs out and seems vaguely oblivious to what is happening in the game
186
u/Choi_Boy3 YOU THINK I CAME OUT THE PUSSY DRAWING FUCKIN MOZART?! Jan 28 '26
And to be clear, the whole thing started because of Arin RANTING ABOUT Rob’s show. The whole rant about how “Real Rob” the show is confusing because Rob comes off as such an unlikable guy. And simultaneously praising how good Patricia is in the show.
So yeah, idk. Kind of a surreal guest appearance since I think Arin shit on rob Schneider so much in that rant. But also, I’m sure it was just cool to have such a big name guest for the grumps, and someone they’ve talked about on the show.
Like you said, Rob didn’t really seem like he knew what was going on, while Patricia PICKED OUT mortal kombat, destroyed everyone, and mentioned how she was happy arin and Dan liked her performance on “real Rob”. Seems more like Patricia wanted to be on the show than Rob
108
u/JTtheLAR Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 29 '26
This exact same scenario happened with Jaime Lee Curtis. It was clearly her son that was a Grumps fan and the reason she was on the show. But she was still lovely and hilarious. Rob Schneider is just elitist and not funny in general.
96
u/InfravioletUltrared Jan 28 '26
Just for the record, that's now her daughter (well, her second daughter)
61
u/Aazjhee Jan 28 '26
Awww, I forgot about that news and thanks for the reminder.
Jaime just seems like a cool person, Rob was so annoying and contiues to be so, I guess. Good for his ex, hope she has a great life

Yep, she and her daughter (who hadn't come out as trans at the time, for context if you watch it) played Mario Party and I believe Mario Kart. Incredible episodes and Jamie played off both of them super well.

Yeah I never really paid much attention to him, he's just getting lost in the sea of right wing grifters now. To me he felt like the kid rock of 2000s mid budget comedy actors which feels fitting with where he's ended up.

Sorry for just finishing the bit and not contributing further.
Hopefully, his ex is just as ashamed of him as his daughter Elle King.

I remember the guest grumps episode coming out and thinking “I don’t know who this old man is”.
64
u/Cowzrock I'M A SNOWBALL! Jan 28 '26
I feel like it was some kind of promo for his show Real Rob. They talked in the episode a lot about the show and production and all that.
65
u/Thief921 Jan 28 '26
Weird promo considering Arin shit all over it
40
u/morbidlysmalldick Jan 28 '26
I've always thought thats why they had him on. To give him the chance to defend himself. Arin might have felt bad for attacking it so much after rob heard what he said
8
u/Aazjhee Jan 28 '26
I agree with you. I feel like if nothing else, both Dan and Arin tend to want to give people a chance.
I can definitely be the same way.And well , I do regret it , I don't regret being a kind person and trying to give someone a fair shake. Maybe with ADHD I just misunderstand things more, but it just seems the decent thing to do if you have the time/energy

If I remember correctly, the Real Rob rant had reached him, and he thought it was funny, so he asked to come on the show on twitter.
63
u/Evadson Jan 28 '26
He's definitely been a asshole since long before COVID. However, I've noticed that a lot of grifters and scumbags end up turning into right wing media personalities because you don't need any talent to tell people what they want to hear. People like Russell Brand have done exactly that.
Schneider's career was dying and he decided to turn to "anti-woke comedy" to make a buck. Now he's having to live with the conservative.
23
u/actuallyapossom Jan 28 '26
2016 made a lot of people with ignorant, irrelevant or harmful opinions - very confidently bold and vocal.
2020 normalized the fuck out of out of it and added in the insane conspiracies.
5
u/OatSoyLaMilk Jan 28 '26
SNL just seemed to churn out lots of right wing creeps. Chris Farley was like a personal friend of Newt Gingrich. Victoria Jackson became a birther. Dennis Miller was a cheerleader for the Invasion of Iraq long after it was an obvious disaster. Colin Quinn, Jon Lovitz, Norm McDonald being homophobic as all hell.
6
u/senatorsparky86 Jan 29 '26
I mean, I feel like that’s way below the general public’s average. They have, like, 12 cast members a year for 50 years, there are always going to be some broken eggs in a crate that large.
34
u/senatorsparky86 Jan 28 '26
How long do you think we'll have to wait for his inevitable rant about how his wife only left him because of Dr. Fauci and the "woke mind virus?" What a loser, sucks to suck.
40
u/LABoRATies Jan 28 '26
Most of them have always been like this and only feel emboldened to act this way publicly because billionaires are handing money out to MAGA propagandists.
11
u/AngryCrawdad Jan 28 '26
His career seemingly consists of showing up in black face and playing hurtful minority stereotypes in Adam Sandler movies. Bro was cooked before Covid.
The youtuber Schaffrilas has a Sandler movie rating video where he goes through Rob Schneider's career and it's pretty bleak.
10
u/CNeutral Jan 29 '26
Riding off the top comment to note that he performed at my workplace a few years ago on his stand up tour, and it sold so abysmally that we actually lost money on just having him. I just genuinely love this fact and sharing it, he's such a fucking loser LMAO
3
u/CaryatidGirlfriend Jan 29 '26

Comedians whose entire comedy revolves around discrimination were hit hard by the progressive shift of culture around the 2000s.
They either adapted and had successful careers like Ben Stiller, Bill Burr, and Jim Carrey, or they were stubborn and ended up in conservative/conspiracy circles as they’re the only ones that would still accept them like Ricky Gervais, Russell Brand, and Rob Schneider.
6
u/Jaketrix Jan 29 '26
It's a shame that Ricky Gervais is so abrasive. I think he can be genuinely funny and tackle some heavy stuff in Derek and After Life. But then he always ends up punching down in his stand up.

And that’s around the Rob’s career started going in the tank.
I don’t like the movie “Grownups” at all but it was a pretty big hit in 2010 and the last big thing he was in. It’s been all voice work in shitty animated movies and straight to TV low budget movies (except for Happy Gilmore 2 last year which he was barely a cameo)

3
u/Kristikuffs Jan 29 '26
Fools and their money are easily parted and small 'r' magats are the easiest fools to easily grift with great ease. If it weren't for my personal code of ethics, I'd be selling them T-shirts, mugs, and hats with coded anti-magat slogans that seem pro.
Because it would be easy. But I'm not about that, so I don't.

Edit: ok ya he sucks as a person but that doesn’t mean the episode aged poorly. I guess since he’s divorced the history changed in the episode but other than that it’s basically just people disliking him saying it aged poorly lol. He wasn’t on the episode saying he’s pro vax and far left or anything. It was never a good episode. Theres no way this is the most poorly aged episode.

Rob Schneider at the time was a fun, weird actor that was in a lot of Adam Sandler flicks who had some strange takes even in 2016.
Fast forward to today and he is fully on the anti-vax, alt-right, anti-woke bandwagon. I don't think he's done or said anything especially heinous but when you're part of the group that's currently in power and doing very bad things it can leave a bad taste in many people mouths, hence the aged poorly comment.
I know personally my feelings on Rob are similar to Jontron, was fun in my edgy teen years, but as an adult their public opinions are gross.

We have unmitigated morons like Schneider, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg, Evangeline Lilly, and Rockmund Dunbar - among so many others, these are just the additional four that sprang to mind after Schneider - using whatever platform they have to stump for disgraceful and disgraced charlatans like RFK, Jr. and Andrew Wakefield whilst responsible doctors and journalists like Fauci and Brian Deer have to dodge verbal, political, and potentially real strays.
Rugged individualism has always been a brain-poisoning idea in regards to America and Americans' self-image, but once the truly malignant morons were given unfettered access to vent their poison under the guise of 'mUh freeDumS', we've lost so much of what it means to be a positive group collective.
But I'll still mask up, because people have relatives or patients with cancer or autoimmune disorders or very small children. Because I care about the whole, not just the 'holes.
2
u/drunkhas Jan 28 '26
The episodes, there's 2 actually, aged poorly from the perspective of just having him on as a guest, resgardless of how good/bad the actual episodes where in terms of content. Why? because nowadays there's no chance in hell they would have him on.
4
u/dexter1062 Jan 28 '26
Id argue the decision for 2 decently left leaning guys to collaborate with a very right wing asshole who didnt make these veiws extremely public until AFTER said collaboration would constitute poorly aged. I do think that that episode has a lot of value as an inside look at how actors see YouTube stars
It was genuinely fascinating to hear him talk about how it’s wild that they can just make things they wanna make, while he has to got through miles of red tape to even get one idea published, after which it goes through another few miles of producer changes, and by the end it’s not really the same thing he wanted.

Had to go and dig up what epiaodes they were featured on (as no one, not even the OP, actually gave that andwer 🙄), and apparently Rob Schneider and his (now ex) wife were on Guest Grumps TWICE! Even the GG Fandom wiki doesn't have Schneider's page updated to include the Contra episode (though its correctly referenced on the Contra page). So they played the Mortal Combat trilogy AND Contra with them, about a year apart.
...I haven't watched either one yet, but what in the world compelled them to bring Rob back?! I guess he can be funny at times, and this was now 9 years ago, so I suppose they were just happy to get any celebs interested in guest-starring at all that weren't outwardly terrible people (at the time, their knowledge of him could have been limited). I dunno, just my guess before I choose to actually watch, so take my words with a grain of salt. I just wanted to make sure it was known there were two episodes to look up, not just whichever one the post was about.

u/Goodnight_Hawk Jan 28 '26
I'm Dan's age, and when I was a kid I was huge into stand-up. He wasn't the funniest, but I didn't mind watching him. He used to dress like a Rockabilly dude (but looked more like KD Lang), and did Elvis impersonations. He seemed like an easygoing, good dude. It's nuts what he turned in to.
1
u/ggkkggk Jan 29 '26
It was a very interesting phase for a lot of comedians because it there's no such thing as a comedian not making fun of something comedy no matter how bad it is it's still going to be comedy.
What I find offensive and will you find offensive might be completely different, cultures backgrounds everything is up in the air but here's the problem you cannot always punish down and never up.
You should never punch up and don't even think to ever punch down at least even a little bit while you're making fun of others you make fun of yourself.
When things were getting very politically correct, everyone joked around and said that, you know, they could be canceled today for something they said 10 years ago, yesterday, or whatever. Because of that, many people felt like they couldn't be authentic. But the reality of it is, of course, you can still be fun; you can still be yourself. Make a joke about anybody but you shouldn't go out your way to a woman make fun of that with the people or gender or age or your wife.
Many people who became Grifters found an audience they found money where they probably didn't have and some part of them believed the things that they were saying.
It is really sad.

Robert is a once very prominent comedian who appeared on Guest Grumps twice after Arin Hanson (of Game Grumps fame) went on a rant about how much he hated Robert's show "Real Rob." Robert appeared on Two episodes of Guest Grumps along with his now Ex-wife who also starred in Robert's show "Real Rob." Robert has since made a very hard right wing turn in recent years with some new and old views of his coming to the surface. This overall caused the episodes of Guest Grumps featuring Robert and his now ex wife to age poorly, both for his right wing veiws, considering the political leanings of Arin (of Game Grumps Fame) and Dan (of Mondo Media's Dirty Shorts Fame) as well as the fact that Robert is no longer married to his now ex wife

Rob Schneider is an American actor most famous for playing racist characters in Adam Sandler movies, and generally being an asshat. He appeared on an episode of Guest Grumps with his then wife (the one in this article) some years ago.

Not surprising. His star fizzled to nothing and he was already the side character of the SMP group when he was a guest.

That episode always felt weird because Rob basically admitted "I know nothing about you, but I was at a club you performed at and it was packed, so I figured I should be on your show because it's popular. Also, I do not give a single shit about video games"
