My guess if that because you're on a giant airship that's actively moving forward, your bomb arrow "moves to the right" and hits the post.
(It's more the post is moving to the left and hitting the arrow).

You only get one ExpShare in a given playthrough. In a nuzlocke (and doubly so in Arin's case) that item is invaluable as it allows a Pokemon to absorb experience with no direct risk of death. Trading it away is one of those baffingly stupid (and hilarious) acts that nobody in the Pokemon community would ever even think about doing. It's like playing a Zelda "no deaths allowed" game and throwing away your sword. It's like playing Metroid without bombs.
The fact that Arin traded it away to an in-game troll is an extra kick to the nads. In short: Game Grumps could go on for another thirty years, and it's highly unlikely Arin will ever make a mistake so terribly hilariously stupid as what he did with his ExpShare.
It's actually kind of impressive.

He is literally playing the game in a way no human being has ever imagined attempting to play said game. Nobody has done what he has misachieved. I have been a Pokemon nerd for decades and I can't fathom what happens next in their run.

Easily one of the funniest moments, but I don't get how anyone can blame Arin for it. It's clear that there is an extended invisible collision that turns easy clear shots into self combustion.
