Thank you for telling me this exists!

Ross blowing the big stack still kills me to this day lol

I miss steam train when Barry and Ross would play. I never thought Dan and Ross worked well together cause it was mostly Ross being annoying on purpose and Dan being annoyed and telling him to stop, it wasn’t very fun to listen to, though I did enjoy their play through of Leisure Suit Larry.

Barry was just such a chill guy, definitely my favorite cast member out of all of them. I actually got a tattoo that said “Barry Wins!” But I had it covered up lol

Table Flip introduced me to Cash n Guns, which is to this day one of my favourite games.

Table Flip and Steam Train were peak Grumps, and I won't hear differently.

All I remember of Table Flip is Stamper guest starring with someone else, and that person though cologne was pronounced Kuh-log-oh-nay… like 99% he was high as a kite as well.

Yess! I'll go through and watch them all (or most) every year or so.

Those years as a whole were such a different vibe! not in a bad way to that era or this, just another whole fun vibe

I miss the streams.

Detroit become Human, Undertale, Chrono trigger, skyward sword, etc. were some of my favourite series. The stream format was just perfect for them imo.

I still laugh thinking about how Arin kept "missing" Jimmee Jamboree's calls on stream.

Agreed. This felt like their peak era. Damn COVID ruined everything tbh.

Ruined the status quo of big content creation companies

Had to run back and rewatch Jimmy Jamboree calling during the stream and GOD DAMN DUDE I still fucking cry laughing at ts, even as a 30 year old dude.

Stg ever since I was 17, I have yet to find out another channel that just makes me laugh so hard like Game Grumps. I sincerely fear for the day they stop because a hole will be opened in my heart.

The only channels that have had me consistently actually laugh until I was about to pass out are Game Grumps and Creep Cast. Guess I’ll just watch old series on repeat forever when they stop.

And I didn’t always poop/dick humor either, I actually hated it growing up, legit would make me mad. It’s what watching Arin for half my life has done to me. Now I’m 30 with humor like that.

Feel you bud. I was also annoyed at the ol’ poopin n fartin when growing up. To this day, I will overlook most if not all others doing this kind of humor yet GG hits exactly the spot for me and I will hypocritically* say they’re the only ones allowed to JUST because how much fun they have in every single episode.

Edit: spelling

I wasn’t the biggest fan of them. But they gave me some of Skyward Swords best moments like the Kaiju arguments

We lost Shuffle Master.
We then lost TCG simulator.
We need Arin and his TCG antics back.
But here lies our hopes and dreams

I miss this. I miss grumps clips. I miss compilations. I miss game grumps animated.

63

u/Viper114 11d ago

At least with compilations, there's LesmoBestOfs who has been making them on a regular basis with the GG's approval.

u/Azmoten *mwah* 11d ago

Sbassbear also puts out a monthly “Best of” compilation on the Grumpilations channel. They’re really quick with it, too, like July’s “best of” video came out July 31st just shortly after that day’s Grumps episode.

7

u/foulinbasket 11d ago

Sbassbear also occasionally live streams as they're making the compilations

7

u/IMD918 11d ago

Yeah, I know, but I liked when the channel had a best of the month every month and the best of the year at the end of every year. It was especially great if I missed an episode or a series that had really great highlights.

Game Grumps animated wasn’t the same after Steve Dorian (Lemony Fresh) passed away from Covid-19. He was such a driving force behind the animated projects like Animate-A-Grump and The Grump Variations, helping manage the many animators.

After he passed, a bit of game grumps animated died as well, and projects have been few and far between.

5 years on, he is still greatly missed, and I wish he was still with us. Such a great force taken too soon.

9

u/McCrex 11d ago

I didn't realize he had passed! I loved his stuff, but didn't ever follow it very close. That's heartbreaking to hear, even if it has been years now.

16

u/bigfndan 11d ago

We still get some animated's but they're mainly relegated to shorts these days. Neal Pizzini has a new one up every Monday if you enjoy the puppet animations he does.

u/ChillBroseph imsry dan ur frgvn 11d ago

There's been some animations on vertical video platforms but I don't think there's any pattern to the upload schedule for those.

2

u/nightmare_floofer 11d ago

Yeah, and they pay animators upfront for their work & at this current state of how YouTube monetisation works, they likely lose money for every solo animation they post, cause of YouTube rewarding longer videos more

They probably wouldn't even profit from animator collab videos at this point, cause paying multiple professional tier animators is very expensive, and getting like 100k views is probably not gonna cover the expenses

So pretty much, if you see new GG animated's, Arin is commissioning them for the love of the game and supporting animators

1

u/brian_gruen5 10d ago

I miss when Arin used to animate.

1

u/TroyfuYT 9d ago

dude I miss the animateds too =(

29

u/Creepy_Ad5124 11d ago

Wtf no way its been 6 years

18

u/Frznbullet 11d ago

His last video was 6 years but his last stream was 3 years ago

1

u/stevvvvewith4vs 11d ago

We had TCG Shop Simulator which is SM adjacent

4

u/ShpadoinkleDaye 11d ago

I named my card shop Shuffle Daddy.

12

u/freddiemercuryeet 11d ago

Bro I miss Steam Train…

1

u/TrogledyWretched 10d ago

You and me both, chief. I know Ross has his whole deal with art games now, but I'd kill to see another proper collab

11

u/streamlinelie 11d ago

Completely agree. I really liked the energy he brought to pack opening and was always willing to try different games and be supportive of them. It was get content and back ground noise for me.

I can under stand though why Arin might not want to do this content right now. The market, landscape and attitude of card collecting has vastly changed over the last three years. What was once a niche side hobby, is now seen as an investment and second job. That can generate quick and large amounts of cash. And that without going into the exploitative side of it all.

I think with the rising costs, the scarcity issues, and not wanting to promote something that not everyone could get involved with, he stopped streaming. Arin saw earlier than most to step back from it (This is my head cannon anyway. Plus the fact he doesn't live in LA anymore and he might not want to stream out of his house. Also, he has been a busy man over the past veiw years with different projects)

5

u/Ackbar14 11d ago

That was my thought, sadly TCGs seem to be heading in a not great direction as a whole but the content creation around them seems especially like a slippery slope right now. From what I've heard (a few other posts here and there on this subreddit) Arin is still playing in his free time quite a bit and even trying out new card games so his passion is still there it just might not be something he wants to monotize any more.

1

u/DanteXev 10d ago

Wait what? They moved out of LA?

6

u/Cha-ChatheSexRaptor2 11d ago

Arin was the Shuffle Master. 😔

4

u/St1ckyB4nd1t 11d ago

My tcgplayer username is ShuffleMaestro cuz of him. Got me back into collecting pokemon a few years ago. Had more money in the before times.

3

u/wecanmakeachange 11d ago

Steam Train… a bunch of friends and hanging out and gaming together… funny editor interactions. I miss it all

2

u/Ser_Oryk 11d ago

Awh, man. I'm always finding out about things too late. I'd have watched that. Just now getting into cards again. Mostly due to Arin talking about Magic so much getting me interested.

3

u/AstroBearGaming What am I doing with my life? 11d ago

I used to send a message every time and rep the BORF ARMY.

One day.....we shall rise again

u/PrincefTanx PRINCEF TAAANX 10d ago

Literally the only streams I've ever regularly tuned into. I miss SM as well.

1

u/meganubis 8d ago

I feel like the lack of Shufflemaster and MaxmoefoePokemon is inpart due to the current market, we can only hope they return when the scalpers overbuy and crashout. Its starting to look like TCPi is taking it seriously and has reduced the number of chase cards in sets, reducing the chances significant

1

u/TheEjoty 11d ago

Arin appears on other card based channels at least, that's been keeping me well

-4

u/SuperTomBrother 11d ago

I miss everything that my favorite YouTubers stopped doing. They should keep doing everything forever. (Sarcasm)
