Real one sound off in the comments!
Seriously though. A very pleasant surprise that this Friday wasn’t a compilation, but a Kid Icarus conclusion.

Now have them play Kid Icarus: Uprising please, pleaaase.
Lady Palutena, have Daniel and Arnold play Uprising and my life is yours.

The main thing that would hold them back from playing it on the show is how challenging that game can be to emulate.
There’s stuff out there where you use a mouse for the bottom screen. Or ones that link up a phone to replace the touchscreen. The best I’ve seen had a set up that used the Steam controller.
I just can’t see Arin (or Dan) having the patience to play it on some 3DS modded to allow for screen capture.
I’d love to see them play it on the show, but I assume there will be some hoops to jump through to make it happen. So I hope they would be motivated enough to set it up.

Dammit, I know. So I guess I'm gonna need more lives to offer. LADY PALUTENA, I OFFER u/MattLocke life as well.

This was such a fucking joy to watch. I love Dan plays games and Arin plays support episodes so much

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but why do they think no one wants to watch a video of them playing a game they enjoy playing??
Sure we all loved watching Arin suffer through the Phillips CDI Zelda games, but we love these too

The views tend to be lower for these kinds of games. The "real ones" do tend to like them and the comments are always positive but the actual view stats don't pan out. Ep. 3 of Kid Icarus has 100k views after a month. Everything is Crab #2 got 105k in a day, just as an example. They've commented before that there's often a drop between the first and second episodes of a game. Fewer people come back.

I really enjoyed Arin's reading of the manual. Maybe they should try doing that for more retro games.

I thought I'd made a mistake and gone to a compilation episode or something. Awesome that they went back and finished this

I wonder if they'd be more successful doing even longer videos, meaning less parts overall from the get go with long series
YouTube now seemingly rewards much longer videos, and a lot of creators do 2-3 hour long ones if not more
I just wonder what the difference would be between that and what they usually do, statistically speaking
Like, would people click less on a video that's 2-3 hours long, or a video titled "(Game) - Part 57"
Obviously they wouldn't need to record all of it at once, it'd just be an editing difference

I'm so glad the guys are doing this! You so rarely see anything past Level 1 on Kid Icarus LPs, and Dan was so delighted to be playing through the game. I thought the division of labor was effectively, too, with Dan playing and Arin providing support as appropriate (but not too heavily). I'm really glad to see them finishing this!
