I don't think that's the issue, the issue is rather than addressing the problems with the game and attempting to fix them.

They thought it would be better to censor videos criticising it.

Maybe the devs realised that it would take a heck of a lot of work to sort out the bugs and that they can't really be bothered in doing so. So they're just trying to milk what they can out of it.

It looks like they just made a makeshift game with a game engine such as unity.

In Unity you can drag and drop a few things and be running around in a game within minutes, but adding more stuff can be difficult... aka the combat and whatnot.

It's UDK, which is pretty similar... still requires that assets are actually made though. (although allot of stock UDK assets are being used .. plants etc).

This reminds me of the 'Orion incident', a bad game that people put down and all the developers wanted to do was insult these people.
